I should have waited before having deep massages because I developed fibrosis not even a week after but it was also due to too much fat removed thanks for sharing

Fibrosis doesn't start to form until week 3-4, depending on how much fat you've had removed. So, what you are experiencing in the first week is inflammation, which often causes a thickening in the tissues before the lymphatic system can function properly again afterwards.

Hi , I was wearing ace bandaid for 2 days after surgery just got it removed. After removing there were big indents and look like some part is swelled up more than other parts. Will it goes away ? I am wearing my compression garment after 2 days Will this go away ? I am having huge swelling around elbow as well not sure if it swelling or not how long should I wait or is there a way to check

I do a medium massage on myself at the 9 to 10 mark after fibrosis set in about the 7th day. I also have one of those triangular radio frequency machines for home use that I use on #4 for about 25 min., every 3 to 4 days since lipo and the combo of medium self-massage and my radio frequency machine has significantly reduced my fibrosis. I am now at a month and my fibrosis is minimal. This machine ran me about $100 on Amazon/ebay and is amazing to break up fibrosis! I apply aloe vera gel as a base before starting uo machine. Do not use a cavitation device on fibrosis, only radio frequency at this time. Hope this helps!

Did your surgeon tell u when to start massage?

@@kywong8053 My surgeon never explained too much about fibrosis; I researched it after I started having fibrosis around day 7 or 8 and found that by also doing my home radio frequency machine about every 3 to 4 days along with daily self massage, that it began to soften up the areas again.

@@kywong8053 I read that it was better to start a stronger massage after the first week to 10 days after lipo because you have to let your body heal some first before start a deeper massage.

@GanneLeah thank you. Ya I think so too. But many doctors suggested to start as early as we can. I am going for my lipo in August. Hope everything will be fine.

@@kywong8053 you should go to a qualified and certified manual lymph drainage therapist as soon as 48hrs after your surgery

Why not use cavitation? My massage therapist used it once now I’m nervous about letting her use it again

Have you had VASER lipo? And how long after your surgery did you have Cavitation?

My doc told me to wait for 10 days and then start massage . Is it fine can I still prevent fibrosis or is it too late . If I start massage start day 10 after waterproof plaster is removed

I would see a certified MLD therapist ASAP and they will advise you on timelines to start fibrosis treatment. Generally 3 weeks + before fibrosis appears. Anything before that is fluid trying to get into the lymphatic system and doesn't require any deep treatment.

Often a positive outcome can be made but it will depend on an experienced therapist assessing and treating it effectively. You can search out a good therapist with experience in this issue on various social media channels and on Google. But, do your due diligence. There are a lot of therapists who will claim they can help, show amazing before and after photos (photoshopped) and willingly take your money. So just be careful who you take on.
