West Philly Structure Fire Philadelphia Fire Department PFD Kitchen Fire 2nd Floor Vacant Dwelling

Kitchen fire is handled by West Philadelphia fire companies in a two story end of the row dwelling. Ventilation coordinated with fire attack, ladder used for quick horizontal ventilation. Member wearing the camera decided to concentrate ladders and ventilation near the fire area to conserve property in what looked to be, and was, a small fire. Members on the roof used saws to open up roof area above auto exposures.

guessing by the new windows on the bottom level it looks like maybe it was under remodeling? hope no one was injured. What was the cause? Electrical?

Yeah was vacant and recently remodeled (appears to be) - no injuries, cause unknown to me.

Why does it seem that Philly refuses to use their main aerial ladders ?

Because they have a lot of aerial wires in the city.
