Hello from Tampa! I'm glad you all had a great time visiting. Never underestimate the value of resorting. It must be satisfying seeing the no longer needed cardboard stack grow. Great job everyone 😊
@michellepiazza7698 Hi again, thanks. Yes I wish we could have spent more time in Tampa but I think we went all the way through it. We started riding in Temple Terrace and went down to the Route 92 bridge and then into St. Petersburg. And on the way back west we came down the Van Fleet trail into Polk city and into Lakeland and west back to Temple Terrace. So we didn't see much of Tampa on the way back. Yes, it is nice to see the empty cardboards, it's funny to think that they were all full when we started. john
Hey John! We enjoy seeing your videos each month. It's like comfort food for us. Greetings from Germany! 🙌
@AdrianaLemus Hi and thanks so much for watching, Greetings from Pennsylvania, john
Hello from Delaware. Wow it's coming along very nicely. You can see the places coming together. ❤❤ Finished my Mediterranean Romance 3000 pc puzzle....doing into the bedroom 6000 pcs for my summer break. Lol
Beautiful puzzle your doing. Good job to you all. 🎉🎉
@jeancarroccino8574 Hi again and thanks so much. Congrats on finishing the Mediterranean Romance puzzle. I think that the into the bedroom puzzle is going to be tricky because of all the animals, john
The picture is really taking shape. I agree that re-sorting the pieces left is a great idea. You are much more familiar with the puzzle than you were at first sort. Glad to hear you had a fun vacation in Tampa! 😊
@LadyMystie Hi again, yes, resorting really helped. I don't think I'll have to sort again except for the green pieces, I need to organize them somehow, probably by shape, john
That vacation sounds awesome. I really appreciate you saying the distance and temperature also in km and Celsius.
I am so happy to see you every month and the puzzle of course.
I really do hope for other projects in the future because I would miss these monthly updates about the puzzle AND your life.
Greetings from Berlin
@tinkerbellarocks Hi again and thanks for all the kind words. We'll take a break for a while and then see what we think. There are some puzzles that I think would be fun to do and hopefully some new and maybe bigger puzzles coming out soon. Mom would like to do another one and it would be a shame not to with the table already there. Most of my views come from the U.S., in second place is Germany, you must have a lot of puzzlers over there. Generation's ago Moms family come from Germany to America, not sure what part of Germany, I'll have to ask her. Nice talking with you again, john
Wow you are closer to finishing than you probably realise. You'll be done in three months. Congratulations!
@dalebridges4833 Hi and thanks. I hope that you are right, I think it will start going faster as we have less pieces, john
This is absolutely amazing. Each month I see more progress on this beautiful puzzle. Time for a resort.
@ruthtumolo9598 Hi again and thanks, I hope to not have to sort again but I will have to do something with all the green pieces, maybe sort them by shape, john
Your welcome. This is quite an accomplishment. Besides us Pennsylvanians gotta stick together!
It is looking fantastic. You can really see the progress from month to month. Great Job.
Some quick math:
42000 (total pieces) - 10000 (estimated pieces left) = 32000 pieces placed
32000 / 16 months working on it = 2000 pieces per month placed
At this pace you would be done in 5 months. I don't think it will take that long. The less pieces left the easier it is to find pieces.
So the question is - Are you going to do another one? Do you have the next one chosen?
This has been such an interesting project.
It depends a little on the puzzle. I have actually spent half the time on a puzzle with the last 10%.
@Dexter-ns4of Hi and thanks for figuring that out. We are hoping it gets faster as we go but it hasn't worked that way yet. I'm not sure if we'll do another puzzle, Mom would like to because she is really enjoying this and likes the family togetherness time. I'm sure we'll take a break for a while and then see what we think. There are some other puzzles that I think would be fun to do like the 24,000 piece Life puzzle, and there should be some new big puzzles coming out soon so it will be interesting to see what they are. john
I love watching! Great progress made:) my guess for finishing will be Halloween 2024!
@mccalloliver4034 Hi and thanks for watching, I'll put your guess in the book, john
Awesome update! I saw my name on the written list also--- puzzle is looking amazing, I'm 6 miles from Parliament in Ottawa ( where I live) so cool to see it on this puzzle
@tony--james Hi again and thanks, A friend and I visited friends of his in Ottawa about 15 years ago on a motorcycle trip, we stayed somewhere that overlooked the Ottawa River. It was a neat city to hang out in and sight see, but I don't remember seeing the Parliament building, I'll have to look through my old pictures. john
Another great update video!! Making really good progress. I'm glad you're taking breaks to refresh and regroup. Hello from South Carolina!! Keep up the good work
@janspearman9310 Hi again and thanks, Greetings from Pennsylvania. South Carolina is a long state driving on I-95. It's good to take breaks, but usually I'm thinking of what pieces I should put together when I get back, john
The progress is amazing, looks like the end is in sight. ❤
@IzebellePuzzleDiaries Hi again and thanks, yes, we hope it gets easer from here, john
As always so glad to see you... isn't retirement fun... the bicycle trip sounds like loads of fun... so Happy you can just load up and go..... you are blessed... no matter how many times I see your videos I still feel very overwhelmed by all the pieces... I still have not done over 1000... Glad to be introduced to others helping you..... my guess for finishing is 3-15-25.. I am happy to be wrong , my guess you will be finished wayyyy before then.... good luck to the finish line.... see you in the next one!!!!!
@kathylynn1375 Hi again, yes, retirement is the best. I'd never done a puzzle on my own and only helped on some before this one so when all 42,000 pieces were in the tub in the first video, it didn't seem like a lot of pieces to me, looking back I now realize how many pieces that is. I sorted the pieces into categories and stared on buildings and it never felt overwhelming, just one step at a time. Having people come over to help makes it easier and a lot more enjoyable too. I'm thinking too that we should be done before 3/15/25, maybe sometime this year, but we'll see. Nice talking to you again, see you in a month, john
Wow --- amazing progress !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Randy, it looks good because of all the pieces you put in!!!! Thanks for coming over, you're always welcome, john
The puzzle is starting to look super filled out! :o
I think the end is in sight, very excited for upcoming videos, the end of a jigsaw puzzle usually tends to speed up a bit too.
@Laserstormelpies Hi again and thanks, yes, we are hoping that it will go faster as we get more of it together, john
❤❤❤❤great job.
@crazypuzzlechick Hi CPC, I just watched your newest video, nice job and thanks for the mention, john
Great to hear that you had a nice time in Florida! A couple of months back it looked about half-done. Now the image is coming together nicely. You surely put in a lot of stray pieces and filled some holes. It looks more like a swiss cheese now and less like a patchwork of loose sections. The image already looks so awesome, the artwork is increadible - and thoughtful regarding the puzzling process with all the color and texture differences. It looks like there is a lot to work of from now on so finding pieces may become easier. With the sky done and so many cardboards emptied, it really seems like you are over the hill.
@nilsp9426 Hi again, yes, it is always fun to connect different things together. It doesn't seem yet that it is getting easier, but I think it will as we have less pieces to look through. It does feel good to see all the empty cardboards. john
Two words for you...SHAPE SORT!!!!!! (I would have done that over a year ago!!!... but that might just be me! ) Have fun!!! Great progress...
@RubyNeumann Hi again and thanks, I'm hoping that having the pieces sorted by color will be good enough to not have to sort again, but I will have to do something with all the green pieces, so I will probably sort them by shape, john
Ruby, one year ago, if John had shape sorted he would have had a pile of 20.000 standard pieces, 5.000 3-prong pieces, 500 4-prong pieces, etc. Actually, I would have liked to see those piles. 🙂
Very enjoyable video! Great progress, you can really see it when you do the walk-alongs.
@BethJedrzejewski-ue9gs Hi again and thanks, I'm glad that you can notice a difference with the walk-alongs, I wasn't sure if that would work out or not. I wish I had started doing them from the beginning , john
Great job on the puzzle! 👍
@Astronimi Hi and thanks for watching, john
Hi, I just discovered this a couple of days ago and had to watch them from the beginning in sequence. Really nice work you've done with the puzzle and videos! Looks like you're getting quite close to finishing so what will you do in a month or two when you're finished? Will you glue this together or break it apart? Will you do another giant puzzle after? Really brave to mix all of the bags together... can't imagine having to sort all of that.
@jowwza Hi and thanks for watching. When this one is finished, I'll take it apart in sections that will fit in the box so I can put it together quick again if I want to, or it can be taken all apart and put together again. We'll take a break for a while and then see how we feel. There are a couple puzzles that look like they would be fun to do and maybe some new big ones will come out soon, john
@@puzzlemethis. Oh nice, have fun with whatever you decide to do, but if you'll do a giant puzzle videos like this series would be great to watch.
You mentioned hearing the song "Kathmandu" in your head; have you found any other parts of the puzzle that bring a song to mind? I was hearing the song, "I'm always chasing rainbows," in my head after you mentioned the two rainbows in the puzzle. (Kind of a depressing song - not relevant to your puzzling, but perhaps would be to my puzzling if i were to attempt a puzzle like yours!) Progress is astounding, as usual. 😊
@tinag4262Hi again and thanks, I think the only parts that remind me of songs are the Russian bear and the two buildings from Moscow that makes me think of the Beatles back in the U.S.S.R. and the song Over The Rainbow from from the Wizard Of Oz when working on the rainbows. It is amazing though how many times I notice something in the background when watching T.V. or movies and think "Hey, I put that building or statue together in the puzzle". john
BethPalmer2720 has an X. It hasn't passed 2025 yet. 🤪
Also, I remember😢 Katmandu from Cat Steven's, but never heard Bob Seger's😂
@bettyc.6280 Hi again, yes you are right, I'll erase that X, I must have done that after a long day of puzzling😁. I listened to Cat Stevens Katmandu, but it's not the same song. Here is Bob Seger's song, czcams.com/video/SwmZAdwnf54/video.html There is a studio version also but I think the live version sounds better, john
Amazing!
@andreagrasselli1169 Hi and thanks so much for watching, john
Hello from Nova Scotia Canada. I've loved watching your progress, doing amazing. I puzzle as well but I've never done anything that big. I have done a 4000 piece though. Lol, I've got a way to go to catch up to you. Take care. You guys are awesome!
I have done a 5000 piece puzzle.
@eleanorhuskins3869 Hi and thanks, greetings from Pennsylvania. 4000 piece puzzles are big puzzles, and can be really challenging depending on the picture. Thanks again, john
It's going great. I can't believe how many hours it's taking!
@carriemummy Hi again and thanks, yes, it does seem like a lot of hours, we do spend some time talking too so that does take up some time. I think one person working on it would focus more on the puzzle and would probably take fewer hours but more calendar time. john
❤❤❤ from Croatia 🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
@dariodomitrovic1500 Hi and thanks for watching, greetings from Pennsylvania, john
I struggle so much with green on puzzles. I must be a little color blind in green. I just don't see shades of green like I should.
Same for me! I realized that green was a stumbling block when I did my first gradient puzzle. The struggle is real 😊
@clarkkent7973 Hi again, yes, I agree with you, there are so many shade of green. The greens are going to be bad, I will probably have to sort them by shape. Hopefully saving them for last will help too, john
Great Job John. There is a big difference in each months wan through.. keep up the great work.
Can I also add my guess for completion to your book please. My guess is January 26th 2025. Thank you and enjoy your day,, Regards Julie C from Central Queensland Austdalia
@juliec9476 Hi and thanks, Yes I will put your guess in the book. My wife has always wanted to visit Australia, maybe someday, john
This is my first time commenting here but i have been following your progress since the third or fourth video and i think this is awesome. I just found a timelapse of someone else doing this same puzzle and it looks like you weren't the first person to attempt this with all of the pieces mixed together. Unfortunately the channel that posted this video was not the person put the puzze togetber and they did not credit him so i have no idea who he actually is. czcams.com/video/zQD665Y-7yk/video.htmlsi=jeSN-V1Qm7O7g3df czcams.com/video/zQD665Y-7yk/video.htmlsi=jeSN-V1Qm7O7g3df
@eitanshapiro862 Hi and thanks for watching, yes, I have seen that video also. I don't know who he is either. It's a shame he didn't post it himself and tell us some details. I cant believe he built it on the floor. john
