CONGRATULATIONS on your new machine , My first machine that I bought is a 1950's Morse then I bought a Juki TL 2010Q , MY First Embroidery machine is a Brother NQ 1600E and my Newest Embroidery machine is the EM 1010 , I will be 60 years old soon and have only been sewing 3 years I make handbags and backpacks but I actually make more money doing Embroidery , many blessings to you sir. The BE (Black Edition) is the same exact machine and price as the white model, however, it comes with the quilting extras, which normally run over $100. The best thing about the quilting extras, even if you don't quilt, is that it has a walking foot, which means you can use a regular machine, such as this, for stretch and knit fabrics, so you don't have to buy a separate serger machine.
This was a very wise purchase:-). Janomes have a great reputation, and the HD series truly can handle thicker fabrics. The 5000 is the best of the 3 (there is a 1000 and 3000). The 3000 and 5000 are the same machine, except the 5000 has 2 more utility stitches and the 3000 substitutes those for 2 extra embroidery stitches. But if you really want to do embroidery, you need a dedicated machine for that (which you have, already), those 2 extra stitches won't be all that helpful, but the 2 extra utility stitches will. It's a mechanical machine, which is really what you want for non-embroidery sewing, and far less prone to problems that the computer sewing machines can have.

I really wanted a Janome HD5000 but a sales rep persuaded me to get a Brother PC500 (Pacesetter). I have been sewing since I took home economics in the 9th grade and made four dresses that semester. Back in the '60s we had to wear dresses all the time and so I already knew how to hem them. I did not want a computerized machine but that's what the Brother is. I was so intimidated by it and its instructions that I delayed too long in using it to be able to return it. (Anyone want to buy that? I got it new in September 2021.) I now want to sell it and use a mechanical machine like the one I had for 45 years. It was called a White which I found out changed the name of the company to Janome! Oh, believe it or not, the e on the end is not silent so it is pronounced Ja no' mee. It surprised me too when I found out. Thank you so much for this unboxing video. Now I know exactly what is in it and I'm excited to go ahead and buy one and sell the Brother PS500 when I can. (By the way, the Brother PS500 is a wonderful machine for anyone who would like a machine that can do just about everything and would like the computerized version of a high-end machine.) I wish I had found a review like this one before I got a computerized sewing machine but now I'm excited to go back to a mechanical one soon.

Beautiful machine - I love the black shell. I only recently heard of this brand, and have only heard good things. I believe the entire shell of the machine is plastic. The frame and "works" are metal - you can see some of that when you opened the needle works access door. Some of the metal is close enough to the shell for magnetic attraction - I think that's true for most of the petsonal/home mackines (to keep costs down)

I see both numbers on the black units, so with/without the BE but it's actually HD5000BE just on black, but drop BE for white models. I think sellers list both numbers so we hit on both colors, that's damn foncusing. Peace

@@adubbproductions, good morning Mr Wade could not find a Janome in Trinidad and Tobago I bought a brother strong and tough ST371HD , sewing ok,for now speed good for me,but having trouble making button hole, service from the machine shop where I bought the machine very lousy,I see why most people here shops on line ,if you can assist me with the button hole issue,plenty thanks.
Please do not use a can of air as it causes moisture in your sewing machine and you do not want that to happen
Does this have a software? How you get the image you want?
No. No software required. This is a simple basic sewing machine that sews pieces of fabric together to make clothing or towels or comforters etc.
