The endless joy I get from the LS430 videos is unmatched
It's like porn for LS guys.
I always enjoy your videos and this project has been phenomenal. Look forward to all your videos.
I always trip on how well built this vehicle is! A longtime viewer because you are straight up, the only opinions you provide are from experience, tha' "GREATEST Teacher".😊
@@junglist1soldier I always considered experience to be a bad teacher because the exam precedes the lesson.
Of course he could have bought my white 2006, mint, 100K miles, and instead gone to the beach. 😂😅
This has been so fun to watch this series. Can’t wait to see the cost breakdown. Thanks AMD
I like this project because your bringing back a vehicle that has better quality than even the newer Lexus models. When you finish I believe you will have a dependable keeper. That’s why I appreciate this project and it’s worth a while effort. 👍
Especially the part where he says I'll go home eventually, then rejects a call from the wife!
2 million dollars later...
Current update. You have impressed me to the point I now own a Lexus 2006 LS 430 with 161,649 miles and the wife was not in favor of me buying it but after I detailed it out and she has riden in it she is impressed with the Lexus LS 430. I bought a white one that looks very much like yours. I love it. Keep making these types of videos by all means.
Yes! Please keep these types of videos. They are a great addition to your regular videos. Don’t stop those either. But these series are great also. They are inspiring me to do the same type of project. I am restoring my dad’s truck I inherited from him when he passed away.
What model is the truck?
I love this project. Any of these classics that are arguably better than the current versions desires this type of treatment.
This brings great joy to my heart. Those headlights are the first job I would have done many moons ago. It is damaged me spiritually having to look at those dirty foggy headlights while the car is receiving thousands of dollars of renovations.
So much fun seeing the joy on your face! Like a child on Christmas morning! 😂😂😂
I can’t fathom the amount of 💰 spent so far on this project. I think I speak for the majority of your subs in saying we all look forward to another project vehicle and can’t wait to see this car completely finished! It’s a miracle that an aftermarket unit works seamlessly with the Lexus OEM screen. Kudos to its designer 👍👍
842K subs and climbing 🏆
I have just found this channel. Thanks CZcams Algorithm. First of all, congratulations for this mechanic being so good in communication! Silent background, nice pace speech and calm enviroment. For a non English native speaker, it is a bless! This elevates the level at youtube.
This entire series has been one of the greatest I've seen on CZcams. Thank you so much for allowing us along on the journey. I'd love to see another passion project of yours!
100% agree. Thank you for all the time you dedicate to making these videos. So many videos are 2-10 minutes and add no value. These videos are in-depth, educational, entertaining and provide great value to the viewers.
This is something that must be said about this man. Who in the world would not want to work for, have him teach you , or have him work on your car. Love to have him as a mentor. God bless!
You are a HERO! I looked into doing this on my pristine 2006 SC430 but chickened out.
Instead, I burned 6 custom CDs with a bunch of my favorite tunes. And I bought this little $15 gizmo from Amazon that interfaces with my iPhone via Bluetooth and allows my iTunes collection to play via the FM radio. And I bought another little gizmo for $10 that allows my iPod to interface via the cassette deck & bluetooth. Hey- it works fine and I didn't have to tear the nice Japan-assembled workmanship apart. For the times I use it- touring the Sonoma-Napa wine country and coast roads- it works just fine.
AMD, you are a true mechanical craftsman. My Dad was a Master Mechanic on diesel heavy vehicles who cleaned off every part and tool he touched. It was how he paid solemn respect to the hardworking machinery he serviced. Today, it is referred to as OCD. But, back a half century ago, it was the mark of a true professional. You have my respect…and Dad’s too!
AMD, I hope you continue with these big projects. They're super fun to watch.
These restorations are fun...can't wait for the next one. The higher the miles, the better
I recently had the privilege of driving a 2004 LS 430, and all I can say is WOW! I mean the quietness and comfort of this car is really something. I've never been in a car that quiet before, and the car was almost 20 years old. Simply outstanding and you were absolutely correct.
Really enjoy how you show how repairs are made and how to prevent them by proper maintenance.
Yes, I love this types of content and projects on the TCCN channel. Thank you for the great content and for your eye on detail and quality work.
This series just gets better and better. I love it. You're so helpful. Thank you.
Quick question. Does this only do apple car play? Or can I connect my android?
@@Con_Calmaait does work with android auto. Haven’t tested it though
@@TheCarCareNuton different subjects, what your reasoning for just not sanding down the original lights and clear coating them? the 3m kits are very good and easy to. just wondering.
@@tbyoda9475 Those kits don't make them look good forever. Most of those kits will be back to oxidation within a year. If you're going to spend way more than a vehicle is worth, might as well go the whole way.
We absolutely loved your 600k mile Lexus 430 series! Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I personally really like this type of content where there is quality care and restoration to cool automobiles. Would love to see more of this content on your channel in addition to your standard content. Excellent work!!
True that the cost to restore have exceeds the value of the car. However, everytime i watched this it reminds me what my late dad who grew up in WW2 torn country with not much thing left after the bombings told me: “Son, i grew up in a time when things are broken, we try to fix it, not iust throw it away without trying”. Thank you for bringing the memory of him putting in the labor to restore this. ..And pls continue the series for this LS after winter.
With all the love that has been put to this car there is no way this will be the shop car. I don’t see mechanics going in and out of this car. The results have been just tremendous to watch. Thank you for having us in this journey.
Hi AMD, really enjoyed watching all of your videos about the 430. I've owned many Toyota/Lexus products, and LS is still my favorite. I am curious to see what the next project would be. I've worked on Avalon, Corolla, Yaris, and many other platforms, including a restoration project on a UCF11. Really looking forward to seeing if we have a similar tastes in chasing down the "childhood dreams". Cheers!
Loved this series. It gives me so much joy watching a restoration from a person that knows 100% about that brand. Can’t wait for the next project. Thank you for your time and all the effort. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 👋
Wow, just wow. The amount of love that has been poured into that car is amazing. The VLine Grom update was a must. I also have it installed in my vehicles and it works really.
Wow, so far looking amazing 👏🏻👏🏻 great Job . Many blessings to you and your family from Yorktown Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸🇵🇷
Yes I love these videos. I appreciate cars as well as keeping them clean and maintained. Loving everything you’ve done to the LS430! I just changed the headlights on my semi last week and it made a big difference.
These full “resto-mod” or return to near new condition video series are awesome. Watching you pour your Toyota knowledge into one of their cars, worthy of all the work like an LS430, is inspiring. I have seen a few full tear downs like yours, the attention to detail is what draw me and likely others to watching. You keep is wanting more! I don’t think one could ever be too obsessive when trying to achieve perfection!
Thank you for all your work. Until the next video, May The Lord Bless you and Keep you Too, as you bless us all with a wonderful day sir!
This project is definitely a great one. I would like to congratulate you for the hard work you have brought to this amazing car! Love your patience and dedication, I definitely will love to continue seeing future projects like this one. You are my "Go To" mechanic for advice and for everything related to Toyota! There is no one else like you as a Mechanic, thank you for being out there for the advise, for learning about the importance of Toyota repairs. I really take your word for looking into my own Toyota car, again thank you, I wish I had you in my country for you to put your hands on my car....
Same here.
I listen to Amir and look for his recommendations when I purchased a recent Toyota. 😊
I loved watching you restore this wonderful Lexus vehicle. Please do the follow-up on this car, and I look forward to seeing you restore more of them.
Great to know about those headlights. I’m sure I’ll be at your shop sooner or later getting the same replacements! Another great video….a bit sad seeing the LS430 project ending soon!
*JDM Celsior headlamps are for RHD road illumination rules and this is a LHD continent. Otherwise, you're all good. Cheers!*
Incredible transformation! I have a 2002 LS430 and you have inspired me to hold on to it and very well make it one of my “forever” cars. Very very well done!
Same I was looking at mine with a torn seat made me want to sell it lol
I have a 2004 LS 430, and I have a setup similar to yours. The brand I use is called VAIS Technology. My unit is about half of the size of your unit, from looking at this video. I used high quality 3M double sided tape and tape the unit below the glove box. You cannot see it, unless you stick your head in & look up. 2004 LS 430 only has one glove box, and I believe it is bigger than LS 430 from year 2001-2003. In 2004, when the LS 430 was sold at the dealership, Lexus dealership used VAIS Technology as an aftermarket option if you want to install XM Satellite Radio. Years later, when the iPhone came out, VAIS Technology came up with this unit uses Bluetooth. I have my unit installed (by myself) for over a decade now and it is still working flawlessly. I can listen to music from my iPhone or iPad through my Mark Levinson speakers. Same thing for making phone call or answering phone.
From this video, your unit seems to be much bigger than my unit.
I still get the Lexus logo on the screen when start up the engine.
I like your shift knob. Where did you buy that? Thank you.
Love your channel. You always share great information.
I just finished watching how the Toyota Landcruiser models are built… and now this excellent video from The Car Care Nut 👍 😎
Who did that video?

Hi AMD, I have enjoyed very much watching all of your CZcams videos, including the saga of the 600,000 mile LS… I will continue looking forward to each and everyone of your CZcams videos and also look forward to permanently having your shop service my 2015 ES 350 after having experiencedwhat you can do for the first time several weeks ago. Thanks.
This been an amazing restoration story. Hope to see more videos like this in near future. Thank you for the time and effort to include us in your work.
G'day from Perth, Western Australia. This is a wonderful restoration series! I'm so impressed with your work and the way in which you calmly and pragmatically work thorough every challenge. I also enjoy all of your other videos too, but I just got so hooked on this series. Even thought it will be a few months I'm looking forward to the next installment with anticipation! Meanwhile I know you will have a lot of other great content to keep me entertained AND educated! Thank you for all of your videos!
This is the project that just keeps on giving, what a joy to see. Hope this project never ends.
These videos and your channel are amazing, so thankful for all I learn from you and the team AMD! Thank you. I really love your Toyota in depth review videos, that helps me learn so much for when I want to buy a car someday, same as your best used models videos and your personal experience with their reliabilities. Thank you again and may the Lord bless and keep you as well!
This restoration has been very exciting and I’ve learned a lot. I’ve already adapted some of the philosophies that you’ve communicated. You do a great job.
Thank you for sharing this video of an old car restoration. I would love to see more of these types of videos in the future. Your efforts and time are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!
You have turned the car into a jewel and I understand the feeling of love and attachment you get in such a project. Now it has an incomparable sentimental value and I hope you get the project to the end and enjoy it for a million miles. I look forward to other projects like this. Greetings and safe travels.
My absolute favorite car rehab series! Your talents and dedication are amazing- can’t wait for your next project. Being a Lexus and Toyota owner it has been a treat watching a Master Mechanic who has a great teaching ability- Thank you for sharing your adventure!
Definitely would love to see another project. Not only is it mesmerizing to watch the transformation, but your patience , knowledge and description of the process makes it even better.
This was a supreme effort on the part of you and your team and I've enjoyed every "episode" of the drama! I'm glad, however, that you are taking a break. Yes, I want to see the next epic you put together but maybe sometime next year! Thank Mrs. Car Care Nut for all the hours away from home that it took to complete the project. God Bless and GET SOME SLEEP!
I was waiting so long for those brand new headlights. Love it!
I love it! So happy for you my brother! Please continue doing projects like this. May our Lord bless you and your family!!!
Brilliant work and I got addicted to watching the work you undertook. I will wait for you to complete the whole project on your next episode. It has been very interesting watching and look forward to seeing it completed including the bodywork you were talking about.
Really enjoyed this series. Demonstrates you passion, and commitment to excellent workmanship.
Love the content of these high mileage transformations. Great series. This may be the way things are going....buying older Toyota/Lexus and rehabbing them vs. buying new👍 It's better for the environment.
This is the way
I have six older Toyotas dating back to 2001. They are all maintained and work well. Between all of the cars, I have over 1.2M miles.
@@user-tl2ub8cz4v this is the way. Why buy 1 car for $40000 when you can buy 8 for $5,000 and fix them
My preferred brake combo for a daily/luxury vehicle is some geomet coated disks + akebono ceramic pads.
*Perfection!*
This has been one of the most interesting car projects I've had the pleasure of watching on CZcams! Great job to all involved!
Amazing series! It's how I found the channel!! Love your work.
Loving this video and I always admire Lexus vehicles! I noticed there are alot of videos on CZcams talking about LS models! Seems to be having a surge in popularity!
more projects like this! I love restoration
I have thoroughly enjoyed your 600,000 mile car series. I recently became an LS430 owner myself of a 222,000 mile example. My first project will be the timing belt which has 130k miles on it. Your projects have been very enlightening. Keep up the great work.
Amazing project and it looks soooo much better. Keep the project videos coming. Love you candid content! Thank you for sharing.
I've been following the restoration from the beginning, and it's been a great time watching the magic you've done. I actually would love to buy it from you
I’m tagging Mrs Car Care Nut in the cost video right now. Hahahahaha 😅
These videos are great, really enjoying seeing all the hard work you are putting in... can't wait to see more!!!
I love what you are doing with the LS600. I hope you continue to work on projects like this. I got the notification of this video at work and wanted to watch it then…. It’s a nice thing to watch when unwinding from work
Love it! Very excited for the next project as well! This is premium content.
Fabulous transformation, from old to ultra modern. Good luck
What a fantastic series! I am doing the same to my 2008 LS460 SWB. It really is a labour of love.
I get to take mine to Florida for the winter. Can't wait to see the next one. You have turned into my favourite channel.
Please please please please please please keep on making videos like this.
It’s soo difficult to find CZcamsrs like you 🎉
Those old headlights have been driving me crazy from the first day!😂
Love the LS content. And yes, another rebuild series would be welcomed.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series!! And really appreciate your recent video on the 2GR-FE common problems. I recently purchased my mom's 2015 Toyota Venza XLE with the 2GR-FE, and it was helpful to know the common problems and to know, based off of the info you shared, that my V6 (with only 26,000 miles....) has everything fixed! Keep up the good work!
This has been a great series, my introduction to your channel. Please continue with this project and others like it.
Have enjoyed watching the progress of this project -- is amazing what you have accomplished. Can't wait to see you take it to 1MM miles!
I am so happy I found your channel. You have taught me a lot about cars which has been so helpful and I look forward to more videos.
Loving the content , I am living vicariously through you. I shows up options on what can be done with one of these.
Loving this epic restoration series! Would absolutely watch future series where you restore other old Lexus cars!!!
Also, the Apple CarPlay upgrade to this old LS was spectacular 🤯!!!
I truly LOVE all of your videos. They are interesting, detailed, enjoyable, and fun to watch and Yes I enjoy the special series you promote as well. Thank you!!!
Absolutely love this series and welcome more content like this. Keep up the fantastic work!!
Love that a wide variety of skills are employed in this truly ambitious project. You are a younger and braver man than I, but I loved watching every minute. Can't wait to see what's next!!
Love seeing projects like this. Please keep them coming! It has been very fun following the 600,000 mile Lexus project. So fun!
Been a subscriber when you had under 10,000 subscribers! Love your channel!
This project has been so interesting and fun. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Yes please continue restoration projects like these, they are amazing. The love and care is unmatched.
I've enjoyed this series so much! Thank you TCCN crew, for sharing all your hard work with us. Blessings!
Watching your channel is like therapy for this humble shadetree mechanic. I just can not wait till the next project. Will be Watching your dedication and work ethic and learn each day about my favorite car brands. Toyota/lexus. Avalon/RX 350 owner here. God bless 🙏.
Yes! More projects like this please!
I love watching this video series, it is nice to see someone who not only knows what they are doing to do the repairs properly but to also see someone who puts in the effort and care and money to bring back a car to such a nice condition. Comparing the LS430 now to how it appeared in the first video, it is hard to believe that is the same car. I am glad to see someone give a car the care it deserves to bring it back to life so to speak. By far a great video series and look forward to any future parts of this series or others like it. Congrats on the LS430 so far AMD and it doesn't matter what a project car may cost if that car is special to you. The work you have done so far has been absolutely amazing. Well done. Thank you for the videos and your channel.
Love the upgrades, especially the screen ! This is an answer to prayer , I been looking to do the same with my 2002. Thank you for sharing ! Keep up the good work! Awesome Video!
Love projects. Keep em coming!
Excellent project. Would like to see more projects like these.
Yes AMD, by all means keep making content like this as well as your regular repairs. They have been so informative, inspiring, and fun to watch. Keep up the amazing job you and your crew are doing. Thank you so very much, it's been fun to watch.
Thank you for all your informative content it’s really appreciated. Bringing your 600,000 mile Lexus into the 21Century is excellent, please continue with this as it helps with updating all older cars too.
love these videos man. keep it up
Thats surprisingly good! Easy instal too! Been eyeing this one out for my brothers 15 4Runner but was kinda skeptical since its costs almost as throwing in a new headunit from big brands like Pioneer or JVC. With bigger and better screens.
😊
This is just fantastic to watch!!! Keep em comin!!! This is such a wonderful channel, do that other project man!!!
I have greatly enjoyed this series. Thanks for sharing with us.
During the big detailing job, I wish you'd done a headlight polish just to see how much better (or not) it got. Maybe try it on one of the old headlights now that they're out of the car?
I wonder if he didn’t do it because it ain’t worth it🤔
I was thinking the same thing. I would think that detailer dude could have got them pretty good, would have been cool to keep them original maybe.
Polishing them would be a waste of time as the UV has degraded the plastic and they will quickly go yellow again .
I think he did just the right thing, the new headlights look amazing. I would just be interested in the "hey, look what a professional detailer can do with a headlight that looks this bad!" angle. This is a YT channel after all, and AMD does want to provide content that viewers want to see. 🙂
Love your channel, @Car Care Nut! I hope you do videos on all the preventive maintenance on your wife's GX 460. Also, why did you replace your headlights with non-OEM instead of polishing out your OEM headlights? I assume your detailer does that frequently. Thanks!
*They are same-generation, genuine Toyota Celsior lights. Light from both inside lens and from the sun is UV-fat and hammers the surfaces. Polishing, "restoration", etc. removes external UV-protective surface but does nothing for inside surfaces, making that a non-starter unless you're gonna flip the ride. EPA sez liquid coatings cannot contain methyl methacrylate, therefore none can bond properly with UV damaged Lexan. Some PFP stretch wraps have UV inhibitors but they all look like $hit after six months. You do it right by replacement every 5-10 years with correct OER or if NLA, high-quality aftermarket housings from reputable Vendors. Made in Taiwan is great, Made in China notsomuch. Else, look like a slob-owner. If you care, there is no in between.*
This as been one of the most enjoyable series that as brought me so much pleasure watching every episode from freshening up the look to putting the safety back up to par. Bravo!
Simple things like these sure make a HUGE difference!
Great Job
AMD, Please let me join the chorus of SUBSCRIBERS welcoming your LS 430 into the 21st century. 😁👏👏👏👏🎉🎉
Why did you chose to not just refinish the existing headlights?
*Because yellowed, UV-blasted 20 year old headlamps are never worth the time and effort. In reality, none ever are. Cheers!*
Absolutely loved the video on restoring the LS 430 Lexus! Looking forward to seeing your next project.
I absolutely want to see more projects. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series on this, and I thoroughly enjoy your videos in general. Keep up the amazing work AMD and team!! My only regret is that I live too far away to bring my Lexus to you for all its maintenance needs. At the moment I only have 27,000 miles but the things I’m learning from you are invaluable. Blessings from Texas.
