- Farm repairs and maintenance occasionally involve jumping into a deep pond with a load of bamboo and a packet of cable ties. Also a crazy village party in deepest rural Thailand…
Life in Thailand after leaving the UK.
Join me on my Thailand adventure as I attempt to create a fruit farm on five acres of land, build a house, dig a well for my own water source and install solar panels to become completely off grid!
Watch me generally fumble my way through every process, trying to keep positive and upbeat throughout 🧘♂️

Give it a week and the pups 🐶 🐶 will have there own beds in the house 😂
Hi Ben, fellow Cumbrian resident here also a chef, precisely from Keswick. I’ve been in Thailand with my Thai wife for the last month (Flying back tomorrow) We’re based in Nakhon Ratchasima. I love your story, how well you managed everything. I can’t wait already to come back here next year. Good luck to you and your partner.
Best regards
Slav & Moon
Thanks so much 🙏🙏
You knew pops would have a laugh didn't you.
We have less than 1500 residents on the island. When we have our parties, during off season, it is by far the best time for us! Just lovely!
I was loving your life anyway, then you got 2 puppies and made me even more jealous 😂😂😂
Just take the blue pipe, paint it a dark brown, and bingo you got some good bamboo. LOL
@7.45 you can see it was sooo worth it...enjoy pal :)
Such a wonderful peaceful life, Ben!!❤
Ps. I found you from NATIVE FARANG channel . They recommended you.
Amazing scenery at sunset😍 miss thailand
❤👍🏻You are doing just great Ben and main thing is you can stand on it. Maybe he would love to help, but doesn’t know how to say it. 💞💞
Is it just me or is "Stamp" getting a bit more of your attention than the other? 555 I absolutely love that you got them and I hope they will continue to be a part of your vlogs going forward. We have 4 ourselves and each were dogs that were in desperate need of a home. Bless you both for taking them in and giving them a much better life. 👍👍 Keep doing your thing and we'll keep watching.
Haha yes she does get a bit more attention. Judy is happier lay on my lap off camera though. “Lay” and “down” are not in Stamp’s vocabulary. She’s too hyper for anything like that 😆
I think the Thais love to see our efforts at maintaining stuff, the simple laugh from the father in law. It’s like a term on endearment.
Had many of those.
Top of that bamboo, perfect fishing rod Ben.
Hahahaha, he loves you!
Man those sunsets, makes all the bs worth it!
Lol the Isaan party's are cut and paste. I've not seen one that's different. Good for some tunes a beer and some tasty treats though. Everyone's very happy and welcoming and nice community feel.
What a difference from 2 months ago. The place looks great 👍
Another great video depicting real Thai rural life , village "festivals" a great laugh, ear splitting volume, copious amounts of alcohol and street foods cheap and cheerful. All is good in rural Thailand, enjoy life fella 😊
That Structural Engineering degree is really paying up!!! 😂
😆😆😆
You just couldn't wait to get into that pond, could you?!!😅
Invest in a few concrete posts and some steel and build yourself a proper pier for diving in and also fishing.
I really love your videos.I'm not sure if they are intended to be funny ,in a Ricky Gervais fashion showing your ineptitude in the most simple tasks.Keep up the good work
Love Thai nights like that, been here since 2004, and never get sick of them. Can't beat a beer and shit on a stick lol
You should grow some super-bamboo. I have some where each shoot is a foot across and grows to 20 meters high in just a few weeks, it's as hard as nails and very dense and heavy.
I’ll google that Jeremy 👍
i really respect and admire how this guy does not care if he looks like a bit of an idiot. There is a humility and authenticity that I find amazing and irresistible to watch. And he seems to have a true joy in his life. I love it.
Haha I’m not sure whether to be offended or grateful. Lovely comment either way, I’m happy that you’re happy to watch 👍
Nice haircut 😂
Those Mor Lam Isaan stage dancers with their glittering costumes certainly could not be KPop dancers or make it on Broadway-lacking precise dance choreography. ( I went once and didn’t know these concerts last until 4:00 am 😮)
That's some hard discrimination on the pups man.
They’re very happy and safe within the walled surround. They’ll grow to be big dogs, that’s not something we want within the house really. If there was just one of them, not two, we’d think a bit differently. They’re both very loved, it’s all good 👍
Thank you for the video...
Be careful man - I saw you walking out your pondside-structure (3.53 )- damn, - man you could have died - if your the stucture collapse (the vertical bamboo you use as beam) - you could have 'speared' yourself easily - by the verical upstanding bamboo (the bamboo you use as a column) - this is cut at a level that you may fall directly on (in) to it - please change this it is a hidden death trap. (sorry to mention but I com from the construction management site - so such issues had been my job, to eridicate the dangerous hazards - and this is incredible dangerous - I withnessed several serious and deadly accidents on site where workers fall into such traps like - the vertical rebar) -
I do not know if you can follow me on this issue? - otherwise I send you a sketch. - I do not want to paint the 'devil on the wall' but immediatelly as I saw this I got goosebumbs... at minute '3.53' of you video...place a plastic bottle on top of these columns so you can't spear yourself.
I know in Thailand are millions of such dangers, but if some can avoid please do so.
Your first MALAM ? - the Thai festivals on the country side - usually I love this festivals just avoid the too drunken Thais at all costs...
Have a good and safe day....
Good video, love your efforts bro the cables will last about 3 months in this heat ...I'm also still adapting 😅😅😅
Tip: if you are thinking of it, dont build a dog house for the pups i made that mistake years ago, looking back now im sure the dogs were looking at me funny
You don't allow your puppies in the house????
No the puppies live outside of the house. They’re very happy and safe within the walled surround. They’ll grow to be big dogs, that’s not something we want within the house really. If there was just one of them, not two, we’d think a bit differently. They’re both very loved, it’s all good 👍
Are you going to build a 'house' for the 2 farm dogs?👍🇮🇪🇷🇺🇷🇺
They like to stretch out in various spots all around the garden and under the house. It’s a lovely temp at night, with a pleasant breeze from the mountain. They love it 👍
Ok.Thanks.
