20 minutes faking injuries, 30 arguing with customers/the staff, 20 minutes of fixing his clothes and hair. A few breaks to drink water or pour it on to his head. And finally a bit of spitting and doing that gross nose thing. But he will be worth every penny of that salary. 😅

Next door neighbour is a pro-footballer (goalkeeper) for our town’s team. Only 24 years old but his retirement plans are either history teacher or golf coach 🤷♀️ (no pressure though, he paid his house off aged 22)

A lot of young kids can be quite stupid with their money though, when it suddenly starts rolling and seemingly will never end.
Someone who paid off their house and has a backup job plan in place to any degree already feels more responsible than a lot of them

Goalkeepers are usually the smarter ones! Think the PFA and the FA are getting so much better about trying to educate the young players that they need back up plans.

Wonderful teamwork here from FAH. Foil's incredibly well played confusion forms the basis of this move. He passes the ball to Arms whose witty wordplay gets the ball into the 18-yard box and... What's that, an insane cross to Hog, who appeared out of nowhere and GOAL. That's another win for FAH.😂

When my son was still at university he took half a year off to work as a picker at Amazon. After a week he told me he now knows exactly why he's spending 4 years of hard work studying for an engineering degree. Today he's a mid-level engineer in a cushy job with all the perks at a civil engineering company and whenever he feels job stress he reminds himself of his time at Amazon. That brightens up his day again.
me did work the summers at university as a truck driver in retail delievery...jepp, I know what you're talking about
When i was a child, my dad told me: "pay attention in school, so you can work with your head instead of your hands like me, when you grow up".
And i wittnessed the toll hard manual labour outside takes on people over the years, and most of his collegues getting heart problems thanks to it. I did pay attention in school as good as i could, and as much as i enjoy the odd small manual labour i still do at work, it's nice to seldom expererience extreme heat or cold and wind in my engineering job and to not have to lift heavy things all the time under time pressure.
(Picked a job where the engineers do not just sit in an office all the time. We do have to make things ourselves, but when it's outside, most of the time we can only do the outside things when the weather is good enough so we can even reach the sites.)
Pretty common, i worked as a drivers mate (basically unloaded lorries) as a graduate as no jobs, studied to become a financial advisor as we drove around delivering flour and became fully qualified. At 25 I made over 10k in a month for the first time which was in the year 2000. I believe the drivers mate job in 1995 or so was paying about 4 quid an hour. Now i make 10k in a day. The thing is some people are destined to peak in those jobs, which is brutal, i do not envy them.
That's first world stuff definitely, engineers in Soviet Union were a running joke, as in "engineer bought a single serving of caviar and starved to death in a week" they had lowest salaries of all, especially compared to elite jobs like warehouse manager (free food to steal) and street sweeper (they got free apartments). I wonder if it's still the same in 90% of the world that doesn't earn like Western countries?

The most unrealistic part is that he could approximately calculate the "yearly salary" from the "weekly" one.
And in the twinkling of an eye...
29 K, round up to 30. About 50 weeks in a year. 30 times 50 is 1,500, since you are already talking thousands that becomes 1.5 million.

@user-fe8du3ig7n A couple of decades back, gas heating supplies in our city were rationed. Industry took priority for two weeks. It turned out our food manufacturing workplace DID have a shower. Who knew?! Of course it was used as a storeroom. AND, they didn't clear it out for the hygiene crisis. After seeing a colleague with combed wet hair, holding a toilet bag - in the office - I decided nup. Once seen, it can never be unseen 😳

A swedish coach 20 years ago had his swedish premier team league visit different jobs so that the younger members could get a look into what work really means. His explanation was: well, the kids has to be shown the reality as they only know how to play football
