Whether through performance or instruction, your unique artistry and mastery continually inspires me to level up in my yoga practice and my farming dance with Mother Earth. Blessings from the Pacific shoreline of LA, where the Dolphins were playing in the surf all afternoon today.🐬🙏🐬

The secret of conquering any pain is to make the relevant muscles stronger. Certain stretches and yogic postures make the muscles stronger. I can sleep straight through the night these days. Previously I needed to visit the bathroom definitely once and at times even twice or thrice. I can't do yoga lying down on the floor since I can't get up from the floor. But I do practice whatever yoga is still within my capacity, lying on a hard bed, the first thing in the morning. Definitely my life has changed a lot after I resumed my suspended yoga practice. :)

Thought-provoking video. This is something I have thought about more as a Flamenco dance student in my 30s than I did as a pre-teen taking Bharatnatyam lessons.

This was very helpful too. One of my teachers at the academy(gym) had trouble when she starded dedicating herself more to dancing because she developed a carrier more focused on bodybuilding. Few people balance body conditioning and stretching outside martial arts as far as I could trace here in Brasil.
In dança de salão(ballroom dancing) there is very little focus on body conditioning and many techniques were developed in order to not stress the body that much and allow people to dance all night long. It is partly to include the elderly too, and many of those techniques were developed throuth the injures regular people had during practices and bailes(baals). Most forms of brasilian dança de salão(ballroom dancing) are very young. I'd estimate not much longer than 100 years old for the older ones. One of my favorite dance styles and arguably the most danced style in Brasil is called Zouk and it is 36 years old according to the general consensus.

Thank you so much for this rukmini mam. This was much needed. For us (dancers) Body is our instrument yet there is nothing much taught about it and how it should be taken care of apart from our dance practices.

How does it extrapolate to Odissi??? In chowka or tribhanga or the form in general, the spine is traditionally way more curved, very exaggerated than in Araimandi. Is the position by default harmful to the spine??
