A big thank you for this new demonstration. You privilege the essential by constantly anticipating with a quiet mastery that leaves me speechless. It is a real pleasure to see you do this painting and it is also a very encouraging source of inspiration for the beginner that I am. Thank you again Mr. Wilmot.

Thank you very much for your video, Tim.
I started loose painting not long ago, and really like your way to demonstrate with voice explanation. Very educational. I had trouble to paint the boats - I started with wet on dry, and the paint dry so fast, color does not blended together well because here is very dry indoor during the winter. Eventually, I slightly wet the paper before painting the boat. It works better.
I will follow your channel and videos. Thanks a lot for posting.

Yes and slightly wet paper can give you nice 'soft' edges to things

Thank you Tim for a superb demonstration , I loved the end result . Explaining so clearly how you achieved this painting is such a help to me I have a similar scene which I painted and was not really happy with but now after watching you paint this I may be able to make a better job of it at a second attempt . Many thanks !

All of the foreground is great Tim. And no need for addition of white; painting stood on its own merit. Thank you for the lesson in leaving whites.

If you pay close attention he is not quick or slow. He just do ZERO overwork, he paints carefully actually and he let it be almost 100% alla prima. Other people might do similar things at the beginning of a wash but then they feel the need to correct it to make it closer to the picture... And that is the kiss of death in watercolor. Also, his pencil drawing is accurate in terms of basic proportions and perspective which makes the difference. On top of that he makes good compositions.
