  • This is another color that I use constantly. I almost eat it. Today we will see how ‪@DANIELSMITHArtistColor‬ Quinacridone Sienna behaves in combination with some other colors from my minimal travel set. For the object, I chose a small nice street in Italy. 13 x 11 inches, Arches paper.

    This was an outstanding tutorial. Thank you for sharing your process, one I like very much! The colors are intense without becoming too bold for the subject and the subject itself is a favorite... rustic aged locations. If I don’t have these colors but will get those I don’t. Think I have Quinacridone Siena already.

    I really love this painting and the way you use shadow. It perfectly represents an old small italian village. Also my city of Florence has a lot of streets like that!

    What a gorgeous color. Beautiful work and wonderful teacher. I’m a huge fan of Daniel Smith but usually don’t venture much further than the colors I’ve used for so long. Will for sure be grabbing the Quin Sienna.

    Love all your vids. Two great things about them. First is that you show your workspace and flow. This is very helpful and interesting to see how you approach the wetness and mixing. Second as many have said it is super enlightening to see how a "loose" wet style greatly enhances the result. I would be really interested to see your approach to larger works in future vids.

I have worked for the longest time with oil, acrylics, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, acrylic and alcohol markers, oil pastels but never with watercolor paints and ink.     Hi Michael ! for sure Quinacridone sienna is a wonderful color ; I don't have it but I use "Gold of quinacridone" (sennelier) a very rich color ; and my other favorite color is "dragon's blood" from Maimeriblu... very stark color too ...I'm going to do your italian street...Thanks for all your vidéo...
