The amount of effort put into these videos is just insane! I love it so much
I agree. I don't know anything of regions or coffee but the video is beautiful
The method is 100% correct
I'm Saudi Arabian though ...
However , the ingredients differ from region to region , but the method is the same
But remember , dark roast coffee will not gives you the ultimate taste , blonde coffee beans is highly recommended .
If you can[t get some coffee beans , you can have some raw green coffee and roast it in a skillet until golden brown
Mainly , Arabic Coffee is just coffee and cardamom , other spices is optional
Brewing time from 10 to 15 min - mid-low heat - uncovered pot
7 gm "1/2 tbs" coarse coffee per 150ml water
No Sugar added at all , served with dates or any dessert you like
Meshal Alshehri Thanks for this technical advice; I often wonder how to process the green coffee beans I see at Middle Eastern import stores here in the Detroit area, and am told to roast them to my preference and I have no idea what that means--I grew up in a Slavic family drinking tea! : )
tamcon72 take it or leave it , you can use "Arabica" Coffee beans , you can find it everywhere in US
you don't have to buy from Middle Eastern section .
If you want to know to what level you should roast them , you have to look up online for the proper roasting level " judging by color "
Meshal Alshehri
every family has there own Recipe for qahwa :) we make it without rose water , thank you for posting this video , love from saudi arabia xo.
This form of coffee definitely not saudi
Our coffee have two main ingredient
1) lightly roasted coffee till is blonde ( roughly crushed)
2) raw crushed Cardamom pods
And a few optional ingredients such as:
Saffron , cinnamon , cloves, ginger .... extra
Arabic coffee is a symbol of generosity and hospitality
And its a sign of honor and its a very respected drink in saudi arabia
By the way the color of the coffee defers from region to region so the flavor and the spices used in it and every household has it's own method of preparing it
Ya habibi! This is very good I say! MashaAllah! The efforts you guys put in. It is pronounced as ghahwa (like the g sound in goat) I know as I am from Saudi Arabia. It's very yummy. Love it. We don't put rose water tho. But nice efforts . Loooved it. Will try it soon.
#loveFromSaudiArabia
Tastemade is upping their game lately!
Not only good recipe but also good choices of music and I love it!! I'm really enjoying the videos!
Beautifully shot. Love qahwa
the way we make it is a bit different, start of by boiling water then add your Finely ground blonde coffee, cloves and saffron, let it boil for 20 min then take it of the heat and throw the ground cardamom let the coffee settle for a bit then serve
Hi, good morning! I'm from saudi arabia and I love love your channel.
Here in middle we don't put rose water..and we don't toast the cardmom, we make it like this: firs boiling water then put a coffee and higher the fair for like 30s then low it and keep it for 20m. Then put the cardmom and enjoy with some dates absolutely!
The coffee beans must be blondish in color and simmer with water (only) for about 20 minutes. You add the crushed cardamom in the severing pot or (Dallah) then strain the hot Qahwa over it. U can add ginger or saffron but I have never heard of rose water in a traditional Saudi coffee maybe in Syria or turkey though! Love the video btw 😍
Oh and this is different but still beautiful.
This may be a variation on Arabic Qahwa..but it is NOT Saudi..my husband is Saudi and the coffee they drink that *is* Saudi..is yellow in color..and Rose Water is never added to it..Cardamom is the main and only addition in the traditional method..some people do add Saffron and Cloves..the method you are showing is more available in the tribal areas of Jordan..Iraq (where I am from)..and Syria..and the same applies to the Rose Water..it is never added! I love this series..but find this video unsatisfying due to its inaccuracy.
You're absolutely right I'm from Syria and we drink this Arabic coffee, but I lived in Saudi Arabia and it's different coffee.
I totally agree ! Saudi coffee is different from the one shown in the video. I'm from Libya and our coffee there similar to the turkish coffee. However, every city/family has its own recipe ! Some cities in the west of libya add rose water and coriander seeds to their coffe !
MM Aween I learned something new from you! Thank you! Perhaps they need to consider attributing the variation to Libya then! ;-)
Ur iraq and married to a saudi?? Why?? Saudi=wahabi!
Sandra Mike Because it's her choice, why do you care? And this video is about Arabic coffee, there's no need to bring religion in every discussion!
Nice work but we gotta tell we never use rose water in our coffee, we only use cardamon and saffron
nemo jj saffron? really? :O that's new for me
yes and makes it taste really good but you gotta be careful just add a pinch of it not that much
nemo jj I'm happy to hear this because rose water is fucking gross lol
nemo jj
The coffee is also not black, it's usually the raw green coffee beans.
@@noor-al-deenp8439 no, for arabic coffee you use a light roast, but not green coffee beans
love the way this is filmed! Beautiful
Beautiful video! Wonderful tradition!
Very nice video !! keep it up Tastemade !!!

Comfyness level: 1000
I love to take Qahwa everyday i prepare myself... it makes me fresh and warm my body
This video is amazing but I wish it was a bit brighter. It was quite hard at times to make out what was happening
i am an arab i gave a 3 girls from Czech this coffee they said it's tasty when you try to discover another culture it will be good and interesting
KVASS! AW YES! I cant wait to see how you do it! been telling my friend from US about it a lot but they wouldn't be able to find it anywhere! Cant wait to show your video to them (and also will try to make it myself once again)
Amazing presentation !!! watched over and over. :)
awesome and yummy
What a beautiful Video 😍 just wow , and btw here in Makkah we've never tried rose water in our coffee but I'm definitely gonna try it now 😍 thank you !
That's exactly how it traditionally served 😊 very accuret.
Exept I skim the rose water and add a tiny bit of zaafran.
This is a mixture of Qahwa (Arabic coffee), turkish coffee, and what we call white coffee with the rose water.
rose water it is very strong flavor to be added to qahwa. it has strong smell that if added will power the smell of coffee beans which is the best about arabian coffee. and I know that because in my city we make the world best rose water. we use it in food maybe, but it is a crime to qahwa. I love this video and the presentation of it. thank you.
I'm a Saudi and I never saw anyone using the rose water with coffee. But I like it even though it looks darker than usual coffee.
And don't forget to drink it with eating dates XD
Yess! Finally we get some Kvas next week :)
wonderful!!! :)
perfect
Thanks for the amazing video, am fan of this show and had tried many of the recipe and loved it.
Just small advice, when making Qahwa (gulf country drink) we usually use light roasted coarse coffee bean, bring water to boil add the ground coffee and boil it three time and turn off the heat let it rest for minute. mean time in the pot (dalla in arabic) add the crushed cardamon, zafran and optional rase water about 2 teaspoon now add the coffee to the pot and enjoy. pro tip when serving Qahwa traditionally you hold the pot in left hand and small coffee mug on right out of respect for the person you serving too and the receiver once finished with his cup shake it a bit or or he will keep getting refill .. :P
Loved the video! :)
Niceee!!
Cool location
The sound of cracking fire hides well the screams of the cardamom pods getting crushed.
Everyone LOVES theses videos..... until it comes to their country. Then they get all offended by the "inaccuracies"
ThePhilipbee spot on my dear.
+ThePhilipbee They also did many Indian drinks, and I have to say that they didn't do anything wrong there! :D
OH MY PARENTS DRINK THIS ALL THE TIME SINCE WE R ARABIC PALESTINE SPECIFICALLY👍🏼
ps it dosent rrly ever contain rose water??
The amount of beautiful aroma this coffee must be diffusing...onscreen! :) Never heard of using rose water with coffee, but definitely is a must try :D
we never add rose water..recipes differs from one region to another but the essential ingredient is cardamom of course ,, loved the video any way
I love qahwa
I was watching and thinking "ok they must know this is too dark".
I am NOT Saudi and I do NOT know a thing about this coffee but it seem to me, really, that rose water wouldn't go well with it, and as it seems in the comments I have people to agree with me 😄
Keep up with the work guys
I'm so jealous of other arabic countries. You see, Tunisia was a lot like Saudi Arabia before Ottoman times, but then under the rule of the Ottomans the Tunisians grew a very strong liking to them, and started to copy everything the Ottomans did. So now we drink Turkish coffee and eat it with little cookies or turkish delights.
very well made video! What type of coffee is it? Would love to try this if the coffee is available in UK
This is a new recipe for qahwa for me , although i'm Saudi , perhaps it's a recipe for another country but even the color is quite different , but i think ur qahwa is also delicious ..
Damn now I need coffee.
i've never saw this kinda of coffee in saudi arabia :/ but nice videos i really like watching them :)
Nice Drink In Saudi Arabia
You should make a video on Erk Sous, a middle eastern licorice drink.
first time EVER seeing this with rose water
Its never made with rose water!! This is really odd :p but nice effort
many people add milk and water together and it would taste amazing !!
I'm from qatar and we are next to Saudi Arabia and we had the same culture and we never make coffee with rose water
Omg I'm early haaaaaaaay!
What is the music? This is pretty good music
yas
im from Saudi Arabia and we drink oil, no im just kidding hhhh
cutelulu73 What kind? Motor oil? What octane number is the best? :D
MegaZsolti for me I like gasoline and I like it 95, you should try it it's deadly delicious =). PEACE
Gaarawed
You know, I think I'll just stick with avgas. ;D
Thirsty For
cant really see whats happening
It's so dark
The saudi coffee is yellow not black and they don't add rose water to it,,
I'm from Syria and our coffee is a little bit like that but we don't add the rose water as well! No one added the rose water but you loool
Anyway i loved this video and the music good job
Thanks for slowing down the text some! It was getting hard to read in some of the others videos.
Unfortunately this is Arabic coffee but not Saudies way to make qahwa .. Although every region has their own way to prepare it but non ot them is what we have seen here .. but still somting new and I will try it
Btw, this is might be jordans' coffee ..
Actully it is called Arabic coffee most of mideleast countries they are drinking this kind of coffee.
what ever you go south, the coffee will be lighter colour such as south of Suadi Arabia and Yaman. the midle rigon lets say from Riyadh to South of Iraq or at least Kuwait the coffee will be in between not dark nor light! ostly blonde. what ever you go north like Iraq, Jordan, Syria and North of Suadi Arabia the coffee is darker.
the dark coffee has another cooking method or lets say has special method. they cook the coffee then they store it then cook it again and store it this process mostly fermentation and also we call it that.
the traditional spices is cardamomum only.
then after years some people putted some other spices like what writting in some comments.
but i never see coffee with rose water!
No rose water added,, im drinking gahwah right now while saying that, also it doesn't come out very dark like that..... thank u so much
we don't do our Arabic coffee anything like this. we're not really middle eastern though. still, I've never heard of rosewater being used! cool
you only fill the cup half way.. but okay
nice recipe..although it would be impossible to grab those specific things off a open flame without protecting your hands..thank you just the same
My saudi coffee isn't as black as that.. its more on the light brownish side with no rose water
Silly bean I am. Just saw it at the end of the video.
Anyone know the name of the song?
+pri22v11
barbar agha lebanese arabic song
by zeki nassif
We don't make it like that in Saudi Arabia 😕
It's pretty video, but this is a simple thing with a fancy name!
This is my other account, so i'm not able to respond often but basically "Qahwa" means coffee so even the western variant is Qahwa.
+Joao Paulo
actually coffee made for the first time in yemen the native home of arabs and the ottoman sultan liked it so much and after the vienna war between austrian and ottoman the european tasted for the first time and mix it with cream and milk
coffee history is so amazing
european were call it the muslims drink
+Ilyes Kramdi Yes It Is This Is A Coffee Belongs In Saudi Arabia
there's so many different ways to make this type of coffee if you didn't know, you can search for easier ways to make it actually....
lol reply if youre fam/you ever made gahwa with rose water i want to get a head count....
I'm a Saudi , i never had , nor see any Qahwa with rose water.
peplika Never had that kind of coffee either :p My grandma makes just regular coffee
+Nora Salman
Also second
So its sorta Turkish coffee with rose water basically
Mayer Yedid i think qahwa is ubiquitous in the middle east. saudi coffee is the same as turkish coffee is the same as lebanese coffee etc etc
extra cardamom please
love your videos, like the idea, but this is way to dark
No Arab country uses rosewater.
I know that it's supposed to add to the theme of the drink and the environment where it originated from but the lighting is way too freaking dark and I can't see a thing.
arabic coffee is often another name for saudi coffee (gahwa).. and this is definitely NOT it.. there is so much inaccuracy in this video! rosewater is NEVER added, our coffee is light in colour (golden) and we do not toast the cardamom .. other spices may be added (like saffron, cloves or ginger) .. and its never made by single servings, always by a pot made for sharing as people usually have more than one cup
Liked having more time reading the intro. The video IN MY VERY OWN OPINION is a bit too dark.
NOBODY PUTS ROSE WATER EVER AM ARABIC WE NEVER DO THIS
No no this is not saudi :( at all
are you vegan? i am
That's not how you make it 😐😕
love your videos but the editing done from a cooks point of view really sucks. you would have burnt your hands so many times unless you No longer have feeling in your hands....
