the quality of these videos is just insane.... all this for a just a drink.... all this effort! respect!
In Scotland wee dip our buttery toast in our tae and it tastes brill try it enjoy
The color of the tea is so lovely!
Defo gonna try. Thanks
Loved this
WONDERFUL! I substitute with HEAVY cream. Richer taste, more satiateing. ✌
This tea is really very tasty...I tasted at a monastery.
That was very nice...quite informative! "Butter Tea" is an item in the Playrix game "Township". Since all of the game's "recipes" are very loosely based on actual dishes and beverages, I figured butter tea had to be a thing somewhere in the world; and, so it is!
Im interest about the background music, what is called?
Do you know other such not so very famous herbs or spices that can be added to milk tea which will enhance the overall taste of a tea???
Try cinnamon :)
Are you sure it’s 2 tbsp salt with 3 cup liquid?
Men your videos are 👍👍👍👍👍
All of them.
Nice video
1:59 add cow butter and tea and churn for a couple minutes
Is this good? Looks good!
I like it
Very good, an alternative variants of milk tea
what is the stuff in the bowl at 2:47? kinda looks like spine lol but i was jw
barley dough
Tea
#freearomania #freetibet
Circassians also drink this :)
Looks delicious but…what about cholesterol ?
😂 Only an American would ask this. 🤗
Looks like Latté
Initially I thought it was ncert symbol
Its Chadung, not Chandong. And the recipe calls for 4 cups of water while only 2 are used in the video.. at least get your info straight before trying to teach everbody about someone elses culture..
Would love to try a cup of this, great video!
Mark Wiens you shouldn't have missed that tea while in Boudha, around the place where you had laphing and thukpa :D ...
Hi Mark. Gotcha. :p
I searched this up after at first being interested when you drank it and afterwards watching another video in which some youtubers drank the same tea
@@mikailshakes4514 it is easy to make. I take it to work and Keep me warm. I work for Usps.
Stop being lazy and make it!
Congrats to Tibetan Butter Tea for winning viewer's choice. May we still see the other drinks in 2014? I'd love to see Thirsty For's take on halo-halo.
This drink inspired Dave Asprey's Bulletproof Coffee, which consists of coffee, mct oil (or coconut oil) and butter. Dave recommends using grass fed unsalted butter. Kerrygold makes some that is pretty widely distributed. Not only is the grass fed unsalted butter much healthier for you, but it greatly improves the flavor. I would strongly recommend the substitution.
You are the main reason I'm subscribed to Tastemade!! your videos are amazing! Happy holidays! I can't wait to see your video again in 2014 :)
Shocked that there are no comments about this, but the video misstates how much water you need to boil: the recipe says 4 cups while the video says 2 cups. My friends noticed this discrepancy early on, and decided to go with the video. What we ended up with was comparable to creamy seawater. I know we probably should have followed the written recipe, but it's still a pretty big blunder.
Well, did you add 2 teaspoons of salt or 2 tablespoons? Seriously, Thirsty For..., how is it that your videos are so well produced but you can't get the ingredients and/or instructions (usually the ingredients) consistent between the videos and the recipes? How are we supposed to make the drinks we see taste like they're supposed to taste if we can't figure out the proper amount of things? Other than that not-so-minor quibble, great job!
alder128 Yeah, "2 TBP" salt and "2 TBSP" butter in the video is really confusing, and would take the creator like 18 seconds to check before uploading.
David Jackson Bulletproof coffee is similar to yak tea, but with organic coffee.
@@1967davidfitness Exactly my thoughts! "The original Bulletproof"! I had it at a Tibetan restaurant when traveling to Belarus some years ago.
@@alder128 Ahahahaha I’m drinking seawater, I used 2cups with 2 tablespoons of salt😂😂
Fantastic series. Even though I can't consume the majority of the beverages for religious reasons, I just adore learning about other cultures and their traditional drinks. The excellent production quality, music, and info tidbits make it a can't-miss for me.
What religion does not allow its people to drink tea?
She’s probably talking about the dairy in it
What religion forbidds dairy consumptions ?
Lol. What bs. None of the ancient religions disallow diary
Mormons, for example, do not drink any hot beverage, other than herbal teas. So no black tea, coffee etc... Or at least this is what I've been told by a friend who is Mormon.
I'M SO JAZZED THIS WON THE VIEWER'S CHOICE YOU HAVE NO IDEA
Please come back!!!!!! Ahhh I can't wait for more episodes!!!!!!
What am I going to do without my Thirsty For... fix for the week? :(
this is the best food channel I have ever come across
interesting and authentic recipes along with matching background score...
guys great job...
This is a really great series. I love the way it is shot, the music, all the odd bits of trivia. I look forward to the upload every Sunday. I am so glad you will be back in 2014.
This is probably my favourite series on YT!! Please bring it back soon!
Thank you for such a wonderful series! Looking forward to next season!

guys great job...
You guys did a great job with this season. Can't wait for the next!
I am SO happy they did this butter tea and not butterbeer. I feel like there are enough "recipes" for butterbeer (if it can even be called that... it's just cream soda with a hint of butterscotch flavoring to it, you don't really need instruction for that). The latter drink is just too overrated, overdone, and not all that interesting. Mind you, I'm a Harry Potter fan myself and I'm saying this. I want to learn about something new and interesting from a culture that doesn't get enough notoriety. To me, this drink being chosen for the season finale represents what Thirsty For is mostly about!
Anyway, looking forward to the next season! I hope Eric and his crew enjoy their break -- they've earned it. :)
If you ever go to Tibet, those butter sculptures are pretty cool. They stink for sure, but there's a lot of workmanship put into them. Plus, the rooms where they're kept are often the only air-conditioned rooms you can find for miles.
Happy Christmas, and a safe New Year to you and crew ....thank you, for all the awesome videos...
I think we should thank you guys for taking the time and love to appreciate the different cultures of this world.
Amazing show series. .. worth sharing. .. One of my favorites
This has been such an enjoyable series to watch. From the unique music , to the unusual ingredients, I have learned so much. Thank you for broadening my horizons and Happy Holidays to you and Yours.
You make my favourite serie here on CZcams!
It's like travelling (and tasting) all over the world. Have a nice Holiday season!
Hey guys, thanks for this awesome season! I am really looking forward to the next one!
This episode reminds me of my grandmothers story when she and my grandfathers were making a journey in Mongolia - they were drinking this same tea, with yak butter. She remembers it as tasty and really useful, also because of the cold and the fat which serves like a lipbalm.
Thank you for making me remember this story!
Have nice holidays and see you next time!
Thank you Eric for the wonderful series! I've loved every second of it!
and this butter tea looks delicious :D
My favorite show on Tastemade!! Keep up the great work!!

I just love this channel!!
I loved this series! Was so interesting to learn about so many different countries, new ingredients and the many acquired tastes for some unique drinks! Can't wait to give each and every one a go!!
Thanks for giving a glimpse into our culture. This was a great video. Please continue making more videos on different cultures' food and drinks. Happy Holidays from a Tibetan! ^_^
Love these videos. Looking forward to the Next season.
Amazing. Can't wait I to get the tea & try it!!
I am Tibetan and it is so great to see this! I love Po Cha, we drink a lot during Lhosar time. MMMMM my favorite drink !
Just discovered this channel. Pretty cool! Looking forward to what the next season brings.
You guys always use the best music!

I love this channel :) so chic filmography and delicious recipes! Oh and authentic music too :)
I love this SHOW!!!!!!
This is weird, but delicious. I had it in China near the Tibetan border. Also, yak dairy products are DELICIOUS.
Thank you for the music list! I love your teas so far and I love to try some :D
I meant make one for myself ;)
i love thirsty for!!
so glad that this was the winning drink. i guess the butter is kinda like an alternative to the modern whip cream/halfandhalf that we put into our hot beverages
I've used butter in coffee as creamer and blended it, it turns out pretty delicious.
This is such an interesting drink, looks delic!
thank you!! Beautiful! video little details!!
wonderfully!!
I love the music.
great vids! until next year!
M so proud to see this. Thank you!! #Represent
I am from NEPAL I had this be4 when I was in Nepal thers lots of Tibetan people live in Nepal thanks for da recipe
great quality video - thank you!
So interesting! I definitely think it's worth a try.
All of their videos are so beautiful and artistic ^_^
I love the songs on all these videos about drinks.. Could you compile a play list?
Please please do not stop making "Thirsty for" videos.... We all can't wait to see ur new videos next year. XD
Thirsty For is seriously better than most stuff on the Food Channel. I love this shit.
I love thirsty for! Looking forward to more! Thank you :)
Tibetan tea is called Jha Bhoe Cha. Very nicely done you guys. This video made me want to go make me some Tibetan tea in this wintery weather.
Yay for the season finale!
I LOVE THESE SO MUCH I WILL BREAK DOWN AND SUBSCRIBE CAUSE I CAN'T WAIT FOR THESE TO OME BACK BLESS YOU
Excellent program, I really learned so much with you, I hope it continues... =)
I would suggest goat butter as it would mix into the tea better.
I've gone to a temple and drank this! they also make a really good yogurt!! its super thick and they sprinkle raw sugar on top!
can't wait for season 2 :)
Tried this and it was delicious! The only thing I would change is to reduce the salt to 1/2 or less of the suggested amount, especially if using salted butter. The pu-erh really adds depth to the drink, and I recommend using Kerrygold butter - super rich and creamy! Next time I'm going to try making the Chaku.
Thank you so much for this comment! Hope you doing great😊
Delicious!
Hehe....butter sculptures! The Minnesota State Fair is not the only place for these, then.
This is the season finale???!! NOoooo!!!
I love Thirsty For videos! Please come back soon ok... :'(
Cool! Wonderful to actually SEE a recipe!
I never thought i'd say this but- Im crying...
this was an addictive series (not that i could even make these, except for some of my traditional drinks shown here)
Plus you Apple Cider advert in early 2013, got me to hit the tastemade's subscribe button.
See you in 2014!
its yummy when u drink at cold weather
Yak Butter Tea seems to vary from region to region. The YBT I had in Tibet was much more palatable than that which I had in Nepal, which was too greasy and too salty.
The tea is very suitable to the climate and living conditions of the Tibetan Plateau. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent videography, by the way.
I would LOVE to try this recipe some day. Can you please show us how TEH TARIK is made? The recipe is readily available, but of course, it'd be great to see your presentation on it :)
beautiful video
