    The pineapple slices I guarantee are sprinkled with li Hing Mui. We use that on everything. I always have a big bag of it in the house. Great on all fruits and popcorn especially.

      @@AdamandMadalyn it’s easy to find on mainland at Asian grocery stores. I moved here from rural Texas and used to buy my bags of li Hing Mui powder at an Asian grocery store.

      Raj, thank you! We actually use 4 different cameras. An iPhone filming in 4K resolution, a Canon 90D for most of the food stuff, DJI Mavic Air 2s for the drone and a GoPro Hero 8 for driving/activity. Enjoy your cruise and safe travels!

    Hi guys I really loved your video! We are planning our holidays in coming March on Big island and I was wondering if Hapuna Beach it’s a good place for swimming? Is the water calm enough to swim? My family does not do surfing but we love to swim so big waves are not smth we are looking for.

    • @AdamandMadalyn
      @AdamandMadalyn  Před rokem +1

      Anita, anywhere you swim in the ocean can be rough, and you can certainly check the reviews on TripAdvisor, however from what we can recall Hapuna Beach was not one where there was a lot of surfing and the water seemed overly rough. Hope they helps!

    Where do you park within the Volcano National Park? Just noticing you stopped at multiple places and assuming all are not close together?

    • @AdamandMadalyn
      @AdamandMadalyn  Před 2 lety

      Amber, at the major listed stops in Volcanoes there are is typically ample parking. At night right now where you walk to see the lava, it is a bit more crowded. Rangers can give you the best advice on times to come. We were staying nearby and went around 10 PM or 11 PM and had no parking issues

      @@AdamandMadalyn no worries! Thank you. Btw, we are thinking about going to volcano national park during the early morning (after midnight) to take advantage of our jetlag, less traffic/visitors to stargaze, lava glow watch, and catch the sunrise. Driving from Hapuna beach. How were the road conditions driving there? Bad idea when it’s dark out? Does Waze work well out there? I’m thinking about downloading google maps ahead of time. Thanks!

      @AdamandMadalyn  Před rokem +1

      As far as cell service I don’t think we had any issues on any of the islands but we have Verizon.
      With the other stuff happy to help but need to know a few things. What time are you arriving, which airport, and also where are you staying? I assume this would be the get off the plane activity?

    • @thewoosh31
      @thewoosh31 Před rokem +1

      @@AdamandMadalyn thanks for the info. We have Verizon too so that’s reassuring. We are saving Volcano for our second full day there. Flying into KOA and Staying in Hapuna. Waking up at 2am and driving two hours to the park before sunrise is the tentative plan.

    • @AdamandMadalyn
      @AdamandMadalyn  Před rokem +1

      Yea that should be pretty doable. From what I recall the road between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa is pretty well built and the main ring around the Big Island is also well built. Make sure you head to the lava lake viewing spot when it’s still dark, I believe it is still at the devastation trail location(15 minute walk) in HVNP but check before you go. Safe travels!

    Our first trip to the big island we did this same sort of mindless tourist stuff too. As we have been going yearly for over a decade, we don't do anything that the normal tourist does. I am glad to see tourists like you making videos so the other tourists do the same things you are when they get there. It shows me a perspective in any of your videos about the different destinations you go to. You really have no clue what you are doing and you don't give away any locals secrets, which is awesome, it just shows that if anyone watches your videos and replicates them, they are only doing what the beginner tourists do at those destinations. I thank you for that, I am happy to see tourists show up and have no clue where the locals go. I am a locals type of tourist, I try to stay away from tourist spots and if we do travel to see them, we go in the off season where we are basically by ourself.

      Just saw this gem of a comment. Madalyn was pregnant limiting how far off the beaten path we could get…but thanks for your insulting rant. So if we walk across the street from our hotel to grab food, maybe it’s because she wasn’t feeling very good. Probably not too wise to take a pregnant lady on a multi-mile walk in the heat to a green sand beach, or up to the top of Mauna Kea. Feel free to find any other channel
