  • The "Lighted" LED display of Pro-Troll's new Lighted Flashers is giving Staging King Salmon anglers a definitive edge. In this video, Capt. Bill Saiff III combines these lighted flashers with 41" inch bait rigs. The tuning of "Bait Rigs" is critical to success. Capt. Bill shares the secrets that have let the Saiff Fleet have their way with late season Kings. Learn how to snell the bait harness, pin the bait and tune the bait head for maximum performance. This video features big Kings and great instruction.....

If I'm running 8" flasher how long of leader on the meat rig or fly leader length? Thank you.

Hey, Bill. Another great video. Quick question. I love the idea of standardization and try to do the same on my boat that I run on the Wisconsin side of Lake Michigan. When you are using your 41" leader length for this setup what is the speed you are generally trying to run at (probe speed or SOG)? I'm just assuming that if I'm typically running a little faster or slower than you that my leader length may need to be adjusted accordingly? Thank you for your reply!

It changes but 1.7 to 2.1 seems to be the range (SOG) during the late Staging period.

@@BillSaiffOutdoors Thank you for answering my question. I recently attended a seminar where Captain Dan Keating was talking about that same 11" lighted chrome flasher. I hope to give that setup a try this summer. If I do I'll let you know how it works out!
