    Great review. I had asked many people up the cruise setting. I am glad they have a hands-off option. Thanks for also mentioning the modular foam-filled toons. These will be great on lakes and are a good hybrid between a boat and pontoon. I wonder how they will hold up to getting beached at a sandbar. That is the one area a pontoon excels. Could you see sealegs being added to these in the future?

    I was a bit skeptical initially but the more I look at it these the more I like them. I bought a couple Sparks when Seadoo released them and I love them. They might not be the fastest PWC's out there but they'll go 50+ but they are the without a doubt the most "tossable" PWC's on the the market. You can literally turn them on a dime and do things other other PWC's would find impossible. It'll be interesting to see how these sell. Seadoo hit a home run with the Sparks and these might just be the next big thing. I have a bowrider now but I was planning on getting a pontoon for the additional room. What I hated giving up for that room was the ability to have a little fun. These might just be the ticket to both

      I was griping for a few years at the whole industry that we needed a return of an ultralight, compact Kawasaki Jet Mate style miniboat.
      This isn't the same, but dammit...it's close enough.
      My Sparks made me a believer too, but I do need a small 4 pax boat that hits about 30. I'm probably swapping out for the Compact.

    • @05subisti

      The end of your comment is exactly what intrigues me. I want a bow rider for skiing and fishing but would love a pontoon for both. Problem I have had is seeing most pontoons only go around 25 MPH unless you spend a lot of money. These look awesome and I feel like I'd be happy with it. I am hoping to see more videos come out to see how they do wakeboarding behind and ability to customize for fishing.

    I built out the 21' Sport last night. From watching your video, do these throw much wake? It looks like they don't so I'm not sure that wake boarding would be very good. I was also trying to figure out what kind of fishing accessories they had and it seems that if you select the ski pole you can't get rod holders as that is tied into the cooler. I also couldn't tell if the Garmin has a fish finder or if it is only a GPS. Anyhow, these look awesome and I like the versatility of it and the fact that they can actually get to speed. Most pontoons are around 25MPH unless you get into spending a lot.

    Did you have a chance to drive a 100hp 16'? I like the compact sport but it looks like a wet ride and here in the Chesapeake Bay it's almost always choppy. Leaning towards the 100hp Cruise but I want to be sure it will plane off fully loaded.

    • @NielsenEnterprise
      @NielsenEnterprise  Před 2 lety +1

      The demo tour I was on did not have a 100hp unit. From personal experience and feel, if you are concerned about power on a choppy day with a fully loaded boat - I personally would shy away from the 100hp unit.

      @@dereknichols3571 the 16' for sure will ride a little better in a chop. I can't say I saw a major difference in spray, but the lake we were on was pretty calm overall.

    • @NielsenEnterprise

      That's a subjective question for sure. It would really depend on wind and waves. On a normal calmer day, we feel it would.

    Should have gone to a steering wheel and used paddle controls.
    Nobody wants to have their arms up like that for a long day on the lake or the river. And yes the cruise control is a good idea. I guess it was the only option.

      Wake surf boats with ballast, are well over 75k.

      The sides are really low toward the front. You could always nose in to the dock if need be. The thing is very nimble.
