Thank you. I was taking tumeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper with a squeeze of lemon every morning but with cold water or cold tea. Now I have learned something new....add warm liquid! I will try. However I have had amazing results with the cold liquid. I am 80 years old and have not seen a doctor in 40 years. I just went plant based two months ago. Wow! What energy!!! Yesterday I ran up my first hill in minutes. Now I am on to your videos Dr. Mandell. Wow! Hey let's close down these hospitals! The hospitals should be home based with plant based cuisine ( food is the medicine). Calling all doctors who want to come on board.

This guy is very cool and respectful to seek the guidance of people from the culture. I am from south India and the one thing I noticed that Westerners incorrectly use turmeric powder raw. It should always be slightly fried in a little bit of ghee or oil usually as part of a base for a gravy. One way or another has to be cooked in oil not water for at least 30 seconds. This takes off the raw powdery edge and makes it nice and delectable. More importantly it’s actually how the bioflavonoids and oils get activated. This has been a practice for close to 15,000 years.

Works fantastic on my arthritis for my ankle. Through silly things I have done in my youth, I have beaten my body up pretty good. Like falling off the trunk of moving cars , vehicle racing accidents, getting on a racehorse with no experience and someone spooking it among some a bunch of other stuff. I am a naturalist and abhor big pharma. About 3 years ago, the sins of my youth were starting to make themselves apparent. My ankle blew out in full arthritis, I could only hobble because the pain was very extensive. I did some research and came up with a recipe. I had taken a shot glass, put black pepper about the size of 3 grains of rice, then one half teaspoon of turmeric topped off with a third of a shot of extra virgin olive oil mix it up really well. Take in the morning and in the evening. It takes a while to kick in. This is a most fantastic anti inflammatory. This works on a molecular level not cellular. I have no pain whatsoever arthritically any where in my body and can now once again do my 10 kilometer walks 3 to 4 times per week. I swear by it. Do not go to your health food store. To expensive. Go to a bulk spice store and get what you need and fix yourself

Dr. Mandell is right on the money with this one and best way illustrate this is: In India you will hardly ever see a senior citizen consume a turmeric beverage, it is always blended and cooked slow at low heat into food recipes for better absorption. Likewise with a different food, beet juice is okay but again, better absorption in a beet soup(borscht) with diced beets that have been lightly steamed, quality beet juice, carrot, cabbage, garlic, black pepper.

Hi you can add turmeric powder to any food while cooking, works great in most sauces. It doesn't really have a very strong flavour so its easy to hide. Its great in all types of meat/ fish marination mixed with salt because of its anti bacterial properties. You can pickle the root in vinegar/lemon juice and salt and use it wherever you use pickled gherkins etc. A little turmeric powder with black pepper in hot water is great post a big dinner.

Hi dr. Thanks again for another good video. Fresh ground black pepper is much more potent. Most black pepper that's free ground and is in a can that you buy at the grocery store it could be up to five or six years old since it had been ground grind your pepper fresh food is better and you get more benefits

Hi, I've been taking turmeric for about 6 weeks now for a pain I've been having in my knee. This pain started in March and was so intense that I went to my doctor who gave me painkillers and it wasn't helping. Sent me for x-ray and it came back normal. He then told me to get turmeric tablets but I decided to take it in pure powder form in warm water as the pain was bad, really bad. After three days of drinking one teaspoon in warm water the pain subsided. Now the pain is completely gone and I continue to drink it every morning before I have anything at all. I used black pepper in it once and had heartburn the entire day so I discontinued the pepper. I can tell you it is amazing. NO MORE PAIN.

    love turmeric!
i actually started drinking this drink with spices the past couple of months after reading some really amzing life-changing benefits this doctor experienced from drinking this - he had artery and heart function of a 19 year old at the age of 67 - just by drinking these spices in water.
so i started drinking it too, i use cayenne pepper or african bird pepper (much hotter than cayenne but same compounds), turmeric, black pepper and ginger powders in a mug of hot hot water, let it sit for 20 minutes or so then drink it down, once or twice a day - but always once a day.
im only 31, but planning for a long healthy life - i dont want to suffer later on down the road, sso i am doing everything i can now to guarentee that the best i can!
i use about 3-4 grams of turmeric, about a half gram of black pepper, about a gram of african bird pepper or cayenne pepper, and about 2 grams of organic gorund ginger powder - all mixed together in a mug of water and down it :-)
i have been also adding in a couple squirts of blck seed oil into this mixture to help the turmeric curcuminoids to absorb :-)

@@MrRezillo I would do one tablespoon if possible, and you can divide it up, for example, half in a smoothie, half with a veg dish or in brown rice. Whatever amount you're able to do is better than none. I add about half a teaspoon to my morning egg with a shot of fresh ground pepper when I have one. There's also golden milk. You take a cup of any warmed milk (almond, coconut etc), add a teaspoon of turmeric and a pinch of fresh ground black pepper and maybe a half teaspoon of raw honey it a couple drops of stevia. To all of these you can add some coconut oil or avocado oil. Only a small amount is needed.
