It's nice to see that beat cop worked his way up to detective in Brooklyn.
Nice catch
The Nine Nine!
to the Nine Nine
Literally the first thing I noticed too
He gave me an STD for his promotion party!
Only this level of grief would drive a man into the arms of Claire. Stay strong, Phil. We love you.
oh wow you're so funny!!! you'd be a great comedian i dont know where would i be without your comment
LOL!!!!
@@Financial.advice you’re no lennie
Phil? Uh… His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
@@ricardoortiz4870 uh
Joe Lo Truglio played a beat cop here, another cop in Reno 911, and a detective in Brooklyn 99. Must be one of his expertise lol
Here's a fun fact for you. Joe's father was a cop.
Gordon Clapp was the same way. He played a whole bunch of cops, many of them in true crime made for TV movies, before being cast as Dt. Medavoy on NYPD Blue. And kept playing cops on a variety of cop shows on TV afterwards.
Some actors just have a certain vibe to them. Joe Lo Truglio and Gordon Clapp tend to give off a strong cop vibe.
Clapp plays creeps a lot now on procedural dramas.
Some good comedians on this episode
FBI agent in the movie Paul
This is one of the only times where the spouse or ex spouse of a victim actually reacted like their loved one just died. Usually they're weirdly calm about it
People have gone to jail because their neighbors and cops didn’t like their reaction not being close enough to what they see on TV
some people are 'calm' bc they're in shock
@minimight4649or it hasn't sunk in yet.
It's because we need to understand them when they give exposition 😂
It's called "overacting" and is completely out of place in a show like this.
Wow! Ty Burrell is a versatile actor! I don't see or hear even the tiniest scraps of Phil Dunphy in this character!
watch him in Dawn of the Dead 2000, he's a real piece of work!
Or his other L&O guest appearance as the "guardian" of a teenager (played by Sebastian Stan) each suspected of sniper-style shootings.
Broooo. I'm overwhelmed by his range switch.
In the 2004 Dawn of the Dead he played the asswhole character and a very good one at that
He in Black hawk down as medic .
The Asian tourists taking a photo with the dead body is one of the funniest things ever on Law & Order.
Dude my cousin went to new york and he too took a selfie with some bum that looked completely out of it.
Stereotypes abound in the L & O franchises.....
You go to New York for the crime lol. Lmao it happens all the time
why tf did they take a selfie with a hobo? thats mean and dangerous@@themachoechidnaugandarandy7583
My favorite is the L&O Criminal Intent episode where the deaf is holding a protest outside of a doctor’s office.
So we’ve got Phil and Boyle in one episode
Joe west too
@@spideyvas2396 he's the main actor here so--
Phil? Uh… His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
I really love how the woman call the cops to help "the sleepy" woman also the cops really went right there.
It's one of the most sacred rules of Girl Code: We protect each other from creeps
Ngl lie I would have tried to wake her n stayed by if I couldn't, that whole thing with guys eyeing her off would have made me too anxious to leave.
yes! good on her, good ole lady
The dim officer asked "What do you mean she's vulnerable?! After she had explained that there are men ogling her as she slept.
Kind of rude to call her homeless thought
So good to see Ty Burrell in a fully dramatic roll. Very well done.
Guess you never saw dawn of the dead
@@innocentrage1or Black hawk down
The Skeleton Twins
a mourning widower that get his life back, married a beautiful blonde, have 2 daugter, 1 boy and in a very loving family. and a rookie street cop that ends up as a detective in a brooklyn precinct
The widower grief when he talks about his ex-wife to the cops brought me to tears.
It's very strange seeing Detective Charles Boyle in such a serious role
Nice to see Boyle and detective west working their way up the ladder
Nice to see time when Boyle was a Patrol Officer
0:50 -- LOL the family with the big "Say 'Cheese'!" smiles getting their pics taken in front of the crime scene.
capturing a priceless New York memory
Cop 1: [minimize the issue]
Bystander: [exclaims to emphasise seriousness]
Cop 2: "okay calm down, we were going to do nothing but now we'll only do something if we're condescending first."
😂😂😂
If she’s lucky
It’s so realistic
I loved this episode. So many episodes are dedicated to following the cliche cop procedural… Random citizen or couple is out and they stumble across a dead body, detectives enter, find out information, question suspect, question suspect, question suspect, arrest someone, find out it couldn’t be them and arrest the right person and end with McCoy sending them to jail with a trial. But this episode wasn’t about that. This focused on the lack of care and horrid realities of the American justice system and how it’s not about rehabilitation it’s about the numbers and meeting quotas. Amazing episode…
That "family" photo is a perfect summarization of true crime shows in a nutshell.
I love that he blames also blames the system for letting an obvious unstable patient out when he shouldn’t have been or at least had a caretaker with him
Kinda hits home, especially now.
The Asian family taking a photo at the crime scene killed me 🤣🤣
Spoilers:
The head of medical services at the prison Gallant was at was found guilty of manslaughter, because of negligence and cost-cutting that led to Gallant being released early.
Ty is such a great actor.
I love these older episodes of Law and Order! ♥️
Amazing acting! Would never know that this was Phil from Modern Family!
I'm glad you were flat out about like I am. I didn't know either. Yet I just seen him on modern family recently during the pandemic.
Phil? Uh… His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
I recognizing the voice, but only because I wasn't looking at my screen. Voice is the hardest to change too but he did a great job
@@jsas2047 He sounds like Mr. Peabody like WTF. Why does he sound like that?
Phil had been through a lot before Modern Family
His first name is "Agent".
@@ricardoortiz4870why are you spamming this
@@benparsons4979 Cuz it’s hard to imagine Phil be anyone but Agent Coulson.
Lennie Briscoe's one liners kill me!!!!
When you find out law and order and Brooklyn 99 share a universe
lol of course, both base in NYC…. and both are property of NBCUniversal (at least the last few seasons of 99)
I had no clue it was him until the courtroom scene. He played this role fantastically!
I cried the husband's behavior was on point i felt a tear run down my eye
Charles Boyle in his uniform days, ahh I love this!!
Boyle's days in uniform before moving up to detective
7:57 that voice crack was so Phil Dunphy.
His first name is "Agent".
Love this show
Same guy in the background of 0:40 is also the same guy in the background of the next scene wearing a police uniform with light blue shirt 👕 at 0:42 lol
It would’ve been great if they referenced this case somehow, on Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Patrol officer Boyle confirms Brooklyn 99 and Law & Order to be in the same universe.
Everyone so good to have you a happy everyone
Boyle looks the same ngl same with Phil
Phil? Uh… His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
I can't stop laughing... i'm i a terrible person? Or Ty Burrell was too good as Phil?
0:19 I think its that actor who stars in Brooklyn 99
Edit: Well found the hidden Cameo!
Boyle!? So that's where you worked before you joined the 99.
It’s is! Boyle’s beat cop days.
Oh God! XD Be funny if this was canon.
Joe Lo Truglio
@@bennywark3103 so we're counting that as canon, right?
It’s so weird seeing him as anyone besides Phil Dunphy.
Phil? Uh… His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark

And yet Peacock keeps posting vids of Law and Order episodes that aren't available on Peacock. They only have seasons 13-Current. It Sucks!
Ty’s mustache is legit
Why are pharmaceutical companies never held accountable for the harm they either create or enable? Why does the the US and others put financial incentives ahead of the very patients they claim to help. Money will let you get away with anything
That’s why I didn’t get Covid vac
Uh no offence but you do know that’s obviously not true right!?
@@jackspinner4727 I sincerely hope you don't contract COVID.
Not sure how you're making this leap. That episode was about overall inadequate healthcare, particularly psychiatric care, in prisons. There's a lot more involved in that than pharmaceutical companies. The whole healthcare system in the U.S. is screwed up.
People blindly trust what they're told to trust. Big Pharma can do what they want as long as they put a good face on it.
Why were those people taking a family photo with a dead body?
Some people are just fucking crazy.
It's part of the NYC experience!
Freaking orientals
I know that pug face anywhere 🤣
Ty was phenominal
Old school cop lingo, the train is leaving the station buddy.
Could someone tell me what happened in this episode
Before he made it to the 99
As soon as I heard his voice I almost started laughing
Charles Boyle!!! 😂😂😂😂
Two different guys are wearing the same tie!! I should be a detective!! 🕵️♂️ LOL!!
So THIS is where Boyle got his first Wiest infection!
Jerry Orbach still shows empathy. That’s what makes him so great.
Its also Boyle from Brooklyn 99 😂😂😂
Joe seemed pretty hard til he got transferred to Brooklyn.
AND the dad from modern family is here. Lol Law and Order really kicked off a lot of careers.
Modern Family, Flash and Brooklyn 99 crossover
a cultured human
What??? 🤨
Fun Fact: Ty Burrell is both the Son of Wilkin (Tim Wilkinson from Black Hawk Down), and the Son of Sam (Doc Samson from The Incredible Hulk).
Joe Lo Truglio as a cop 13 years before Brooklyn nine nine 🤣🤣
“First appearance” just kills me 😂
he was in another episode in season 13, as a different character obviously. and one in svu
Wdym kills you?
I just realised that Ty could play Frank Zappa
Came here for Phil but so glad to see Boyle's old days before he met his idol, Jake Peralta 😂
Sigh, I miss Lenny Briscoe, he was one of my favourite L&O characters with his dead-pan one-liners, Briscoe and Greene were my second favourite cop duo with Briscoe and Logan my favourite.
Ty listen no matter what suspect guilty or not guilty think again !
Boyle as a rookie!
Oh Charles!
Detective Boyle lol.
He also played a lawyer on law and order SVU
My brother in law was a beat cop in Detroit. Moved to Phoenix got on Scottsdale police and worked his way up to Detective. Can happen. Just apply yourself
Boyle before moving to Brooklyn 99 kkkk
Good to see Ty in some drama. Great actor.
We finally got to see Boyle before he made detective. Was this before he worked with that elderly cop? Also Phil, you had a family before getting together with Claire? Didn't know you were like that.
so this is the Past Family
in this scene, I can see some of casts would then play in different hit series such as Modern Family, The Flash, and Brooklyn 99.. most of them are comedies😅
So this is what Boyle was doing. Who would've thought he worked with Joe West. 😊
Is that Phil from modern family
Phil? Uh, His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
Look at Detective Boyle 😊
Surely sending him to prison isn't the best option. That man needs help
Charles Boyle, the early years.
Brooklyn 99, The Flash, Modern Family, Agent Cody Banks.
You're welcome!
charles boyle is in this lol
Ty Burrell be uh octoroon!
???
Phil and Charles boil? What an episode...Phil and Charles boil? What an episode...
Phil unrecognizable 😮
Phil? Uh, His first name is Agent. -Tony Stark
Didn’t he also show up in the one episode with the Winter Soldier?
Sadly he didn't. But did play Betty's boyfriend, the head-shrink (which is slang for a psychiatrist) in The Incredible Hulk.
Who was that woman who entered the courtroom and sat in the back? I recognize her from something but I can't place her.
Never mind, I just figured it out. It's Dianne Wiest.
Hello
As others have spotted, Joe LaTrugio’s(?) (aka, Charles Boyle’s) first appearance too, maybe?
Don't be afraid to catch Philsssss
BOYLE!!!!!!
9:27 I miss seeing beautiful Angie Harmon 🙂
