Those moments with his daughters is just so sweet “is that who you really want to be” he really knew how to play to their strengths to keep them not only happy but on the right track as well such a nice moment.
When you think you can get away with anything, because your dad never gets upset anyhow but then you finally take it too far and you find out what it's like when you do cross that line. I can guarantee you, you'll never ever cross it again. That's a onetime trip that will scare you so shitless, you'll spend the rest of your life watching for signs to prevent it ever happening again. The episode where Phil finally snaps and puts the girls to work while watching them like a hawk is one of his best. He's the nicest dad ever, but like every other person, he has limits. You can stretch those limits further than most, but if you stretch them too far and they finally do break, you'll never see him the same way again. That was the day they learned that their mother was really the good cop in the relationship all this time.
My old man is like the complete opposite of Phil He’s quiet, doesn’t emote alot, and doesn’t really laugh out loud much if at all So one time, we were heading to work (worked with him for 3 years in construction) I was super tired and was doing the talking for the both of us Idk even about what But I said something, then paused, felt a slight breeze, and looked down to see my fly was down, so, because I was already rambling and sleep deprived I said “oh, that’s why it was so cold” And I zipped up my pants And continued with what I was talking about My dad looked over, looked down, looked at my face, and started to laugh harder then I’ve ever seen someone laugh He had to pull over he was laughing so hard The whole day I’d hear him giggle to himself Honestly, I could been hit by a train, and lost 100000$ And it wouldn’t have mattered I’d made my dad laugh, and so hard he had to pull over so he didn’t cause a wreck I won at life, I could make my momma laugh easily, I just talk to her on the phone and she laughs, but my dad?
