  • Here is how a 3 inch, 350 pound pulling force Neodymium Magnets is shipped and some different metal, safety test I ran before taking it out in the field or around my kids. The pull force steadily builds to crushing strength.
    Here is the magnet used in the video: amzn.to/3lfs9Co

    That's awesome. See video of the half a foot block n52 . 5000 pound pull.also if you stick it to real iron or your lawnmower flat surface you won't be able to pull it off I have one half that size and it will pull my 62 inch woods mower with a big metal grasscatcher about 600 pounds of mower. all over the yard with the truck. We finally got it off by beating it with a rubber hammer till we could get it to an edge then we could pull it off. And I'm strong and 61 years old can pick up 200 pounds. These are amazing when attached to pure steel or iron. The hook and screw btw is not pure ferrous metal is why it's got a weak pull..

      Hey dude, you did just fine. I don't mind your mispronunciations one little bit. 9 out of 10 people will mispronounce Neodymium. These are a bunch of armchair critics that don't have the curiosity to even try these things, and a bunch of "I'M MISTER PERFECTS" that have nothing better to do than criticize others. I was a machinist and I applaud your use of a straight blade screwdriver to tighten that screw as a #4 or larger Phillips drivers are relatively uncommon. AS A MACHINIST I would have done the same thing if I didn't have the right tool.
      What I like about you is that you are curious, friendly, and will happily share your experiences. You have far more personality than all of the armchair critics that have nothing better to do than piss on others. Good for you!
      "Illigitimi Non Carborundum!" That's a mock-Latin aphorism meaning "Don't let the bastards grind you down!" I'll probably end up with 10 of these idiots telling me I got the Latin wrong. They can all clean the slippery end of my dipstick.

    There are different grades of neodymium, but the pull force isn’t 300lbs for everything. It’s pull force over a flat surface that covers the whole face of the magnet is what they measure, not some random small object.

    Recently got a 290lb magnet.. it’s not as powerful as I’d imagined it’s be. I can easily hold metal in palm of bare hand or fingers, with magnet on the other side, without the force being painful (though gotta be careful about skin being pinched) .. I’m really curious about the 600-1200lb monsters .. Would the constant pressure cause serious damage? I know the real danger is from accelerating objects,

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  Před 4 lety +1

      Adams Brew, thanks for your comment. Agree the real danger is accelerating objects. But with larger size magnets like what we're talking about here I think long term static (constant) pressure would be a problem because eventually you would shift say your hand the the pinch factor would be high. I'm not willing to take that risk but interesting question.

    Probably a good idea to blur out your address when showing stuff that's been shipped to your house man. If I can read your city, state, and Zip....the street name and house number are printed much bolder. Just trying to look out and make ya aware my man. Aldie, VA 20105...blur out the small square "handling label".

    • @simoncunningham3740

      Make It or Break It no I mean it being stainless is why its not getting much of a reaction from the magnet, maybe cheap was the wrong word, but not 100% stainless as the magnet is still trying to grab it

    • @johnrobinson6449
      @johnrobinson6449 Před 6 lety

      SimonCUnningham. There are many grades and alloys of stainless, each having different properties. In the machine shop my first test of an unknown stainless alloy was a magnet test as stainless alloys are broken down into 2 major groups being "Magnetic" or "Non-Magnetic". And even within both groups there are variations of just how strongly they are attracted to a magnet. And ALL those alloys are considered to be 100% stainless steels as they all have an iron base and then alloyed with other non-corrosive metals and carbon in varying degrees and combinations.
      One example of the differences is that if you have an Induction cook-top stove and want to use stainless cookware, the pot or pan MUST be made out of Magnetic Stainless.

      Just to let you know I was a professional machinist and if I didn't have a #4 or #5 Phillips bit in my tool box I would have done exactly the same thing he did. What amazes me is that I need to let YOU know that he KNEW he had the wrong kind of screwdriver. And I just need to let YOU know that your "information" was pointlessly condescending. You must be PROUD!

    It would seem to me that the "warning label" should have been on the outside of the box rather than on the inside.
    Its a bit late to give a warning after the box is open.
