Honestly the designer of the E60 is a genius because this car hasn’t aged 1 day. The styling completely fits in with modern design language despite being 20 years old.

@@marcd7332 Yeah true. Same thing with the E65 and to a lesser extent the E46 too. I've never really liked the designs of the early/mid 00's BMWs, especially considering how nice the E38 and E39 from the gen before and the F10 and F30 from the generation after were.

Ironicly it received much hate when it was released.
Speedo cluster I could live with the original one perfectly fine (personal prefference), but Head unit replacement is mandatory for CCC and CIC systems because the original ones lack so many features.
the "modern" shitty chinese cluster he put it is absolutely fucking horrible

facts before i got my E92 i kept saying i wanted the digital cluster but after getting it i just feel like the original fits the car way better. still need to replace my head unit though lmao

Its a shame they dont use a better quality panel on those id4motion screens. The blacks arent black.
Its a lcd panel, if they used led or oled panes it would be double the price probbably
@@darioograjsek9336Oled screens would have burn in issues but most decent lcds have good contrast ratio's, the digital cluster is probably using a cheap lcd panel.
It's because you are looking at the screen via video. In person the blacks are much darker. Not OLED dark but definitely more than you can see on video.

I have a new-ish car now, but back when I was driving older cars, there wasn't anything like this out there, best thing you could get was a slow iPad gen 1 clone. This looks sick! Really makes something like a low mileage W221 or W211 or E39 or LS430 (if you can find any of these) viable again.
Those id4motion gauges fit much better with the e60 M5 rather than on the e46 M3. I personally think that gauge cluster would fit best on an e9X M3. Overall love this build dude!

Just found you and this video, got an 08 535i I hate to love since it gave me a transmission problem earlier this year and I had to replace it. I've always found it annoying that it had built in bluetooth call but no media sharing and a fairly dated display. After watching this and your older video on the 335i, I feel decently confident to replace the head unit once I can save up the cash for one.
Overall good videos and I'm glad you actually walk through plugging things in even though it seems like such a simple thing to do. Shade tree mechanics like me who are used to working on older things like a 1994 ford ranger, get a little nervous with newer cars and all their sensors and electrical bits. I know just enough to get myself into trouble, and not enough to get back out of it most times with that.

Haven't yet got the cash to buy one just yet, other things came up like needing tires and the adaptive headlight system going out. If I ever get around replacing the head unit I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes.@@1998Haris

They make it look like a 2013 - 22 screen upgrade. I personally think these mods where worth it. The digital cluster I would only have 3 displays and it would still contain the original one with a the same color to match my car but the head unit is worth it 18:06

The ///M Analog Cluster looks great and perfectly blends with the car. The Digital one just cheapens the look IMO. As for the CCC and CIC ya they are trash and the upgrade is welcomed.

Just Upgraded my E90 2005 with the new Radio, its absolutly insane! Just beamed the car from 2005 into 2020 and its better then the most new Carradios.

The aux cable is another ground/completes the circuit, for the audio system. Similar to if the antenna cable isn't connected the audio won't even turn on.

Some E60 love! You should have tried the new digital clusters that are coming out for some content. I like the BMW look of those clusters better than iD4’s

Is the fuel gauge adjustable? As the petrol in my country is very ex, I often cross the borders to top up my fuel which is not allowed in my country

You should’ve kept the OG gauge cluster and upgraded the CCC Unit to the CIC unit to still have at least Bluetooth playback and keep it original.
It's great a company still offers a tremendous upgrade for a older model vehicle. Just swap out that factory steering wheel for a carbonfiber/leather after market upgrade & you'll be complete.

Can the speedo cluster and the head unit operate independently of each other? I like my speedo cluster the way it is, and i was thinking to upgrade the head unit. So that i can stream music with bluetooth. and just have the apple carplay ofcourse.

Looking to buy a 335i Should I get a 2015 m sport package asking $19,995. Or a 2011 m sport package asking $9995. Both clean title and well maintained. Maintenance records for both 2011 is more extensive with all work done at bmw. However it’s at 135k miles. 2015 has only 83k. Are these decent prices or should I be trying to negotiate?? I am liking the e90 body just a lil more

Ya know I watch this and I think to myself why did I buy a new BMW? I would have been just as happy doing this to an older BMW. I absolutely love this mod. This makes me want to pick up a E92 335.
I'd say go for it. I always wanted a nice E39, but I waited too long and the good ones suddenly completely dried up around 6 years ago, or became unreasonable in price, now I'll never have one. Right now, the 335ix's from 2011/2012 should have hit the bottom of their depreciation curves, and at the same time you'll have one of the best examples of that generation possible (excluding the M3 of course).

Hello every one; I purchased the ID4 Motion screen. Works great but one things to point out is that in the maintenance side COUNTER for service It only displays in KM and you will loose the ability to track your spark plugs maint. Interval and other 2 more…. Keep that in mind. Unless they come up with a revised firmware I’m not going to install mines….

So what happens when you put the stock cluster back in after maybe 10k miles? Will the stock cluster have the tamper dot? (for wrong mileage displayed)
That’s what I was wondering! Maybe it pulls that data from the DME?
The stock cluster will read the new milage, so no issues.

The cluster comes with a camera option on the website, it would have been cool to see a demo on how this works. does it display on your cluster or over the radio display?
We have one that shows up on the digital cluster and one that shows up on the head unit.
The digital cluster looks too narrow / Chinese imo. The stock one is just fine, also, for the head unit, I would've just went for an F series one with all the bells and whistles, the one where you can zoom out and see the earth. But I guess this route is cheaper and more customizable

Upgrade the steering as well please. For the digital information cluster, the Chinese ones look a lot better, they have more advanced skins and the quality seems even better. Lastly, if you can upgrade your trim to piano black and install RGB lights, everything will look fantastic.
The Chinese ines do not look better nor do they offer better more/better skins 😂.

With the xtrons unit on this car do you lose any of the original features of the I drive unit, looking to fit a unit to my 2007 E61 but don't want to lose the display for night vision or steering wheel controls

This trim was clapped. I removed many of these trims in the past.
I would have kept that interior stock becuz those old items deliver a specific, enthusiast vibe which is slowly fading away sadly. All thanks to those screens and etc
