I thought negative Cody was going home.. Israel has the most positive attitude. I wish that man the best Of luck in his future. He’s capable of anything with the positivity he carries
Second this, what a lovely guy. Wrong call IMO.
He got beat by a couple of the women in the race and was last in FTP test. That's pretty irredeemable.
Unrealllll
@@cup_and_cone Well, I mean it is if he gets better - just because someone is down on fitness now doesn't mean they can't improve. But I was not happy to see Isreal, when called out at the end as one of the bottom four, still seemed pretty happy about his performances. How can someone be a competitor and not say "no, that wasn't good enough, I'll find a way to be faster or deliver more power." A positive attitude is good, complacency isn't.
@@Warmagon There is no magic that will make him get faster within the next several days this was filmed. He is at least a year or two away from getting the speed as the top riders.
I kinda wish they would go the whole contest without eliminating anyone and just work on an overall points basis to see who is the most well rounded. Kinda like last season where Addison was eliminated right before either the fork rebuild or the video challenge (cant remember) but there's certain challenges that play to peoples strengths and others that don't. Like for PBA i would just announce winners of each weeks challenges instead of eliminating the field.
That would be an interesting (and arguably better) layout, I like it. Maybe next season.
Yep. Or at least keep like the last 4 or 5 til the end
Would also be great to be able to judge the progress people make during the season and how far they can evolve in such a "short" time.
Yes! Totally agree. It's sensationalism over progression. Could Israel have increased in fitness and skill? Can Cody overcome his negativity? All deserve more chances to grow and progress. It's what it's all about.
Yes
I so wanna see Israel joining the Pinkbike team as a presenter or ambassador!
¡Pinkbike En Espanol!
They def should since they just pissed off half their viewers

This is just the right amount cringe combined with the perfect balance of total kook factor. Pinkbike nailed it. So glad the internet lives forever. :)
The right amount of stupid
exactly what I had in mind xd
Isreael is such a beautiful human. Love that guy.
100%!
He could go far being a marketing or sales rep for any bike brand in North or Latin America. Great attitude, bilingual and loves bikes.
@@newttella1043 you're 100%, I hope a sales manager is paying attention out there somewhere.
Yes, ! I agree!
@@casestudymtb kona already asked Israel to dm them
nah Cody should have been the one kicked. They did our man Israel dirty AF.
Facts. Israel got ROBBED
Spin Bike Test = No thank you.
Lies, we know you were one of the secret pros.
@@kroozctrl6284 You think so?
@@kroozctrl6284 definitely ;)
@@remymetailler either you or your brother from another mother. He loves to be into the Gnar.
@@kroozctrl6284 if it did good on the fitness test it has to be Yohan, way stronger on that department
Israel is the most positive person on Pinkbike Academy Season 1 & 2 and this mentality will bring him very far in live and he already was a fan favorite.
I wish him all the best for his career. 🤘🏻
He has a very good attitude but not the skill or fitness to even be considered a contender in these challenges. On the other hand it seems like a marketing oriented job would suit him well so maybe he will get something good out of it. Thinking how well Tom Bradshaw is doing as a presenter. Even though I think some of the contestants were picked to diversify the show, it's probably a necessary evil for this format.
Also Israel talks too much shit and his English is piss poor imo
"you know what else is a just number? Watts per kilo" 🤣 brutal!
The way Jason casually says ''let's crush some souls''
"Israel wants it a lot more than... others" just say "me" Cody, Cody should have gone home, not Israel. Poor guy wanted it so so bad!
I agree but man Israel really could have come into this competition with more fitness. A lot of these people came in with a lack of fitness.
Lol “ wanting it more “ doesn’t mean your results are better. Which they weren’t
I think Cody wants it too, or otherwise he wouldn't be so upset about his bad performances. Have to remember these are young kids getting they're struggles put on tape for everyone to see.
@@TheEricfendall totally agree, rough spot for these young guys and the numbers don’t lie
His life outlook is awesome, but he needs to get training if he wants it so bad
No talking, german efficiency on point by Officer Laura 😁👍
I am a bit disappointed that she's getting close to zero screentime. Looks almost as if she is an outsider to the group. Would piss me off if she will be sent home for her lack of always smiling, american fake-happiness.
no words needed by Laura just do her thing and win ;) as usually at races
@@Endurophin could be anything. As always, she'll let the race times do the talking 😜
@@Endurophin less screen time early on = potential series winner
Just dropping in to say THANK YOU for making this season's episodes long! Worth every second!
It’s surprising most of the competitors have never done an FTP test before, considering they knew it was one of the challenges from last season.
Jason: At 1700 meters there's less oxygen for the heart and lungs making it harder.
Everyone in Denver: Such a drama queen...
Everyone in Tibet where elevations start at 12,000 feet: Wtf are you guys on about?
If you're not acclimated you're not acclimated. People in Mexico City might think people in Denver are drama queens, people in La Paz will say it about Mexico city....
@@SuperAaron99 He's bragging about being from Denver, just let him have it, he clearly needs it.
@@TheLOMTONG I'm not from Denver, never lived in CO.
@@SuperAaron99 I'm aware that probably most of the people on the show had come from sea level but you should be acclimated to 1700 Meters within a few days which they have already had or else altitude sickness would be more prevalent within the show. Honestly 1700 Meters is nothing and if you cant handle that then I don't think you will make it in too many races like the EWS for example.
Cody better brush up that attitude, his racing background saved him from being eliminated
I agree. He definitely had a bad attitude after every challenge
From what we've seen from him so far (and, yes, there is the editing factor), were I Orbea or Shimano, I wouldn't want him repping my company, period. You lose with grace, not throwing a hissy fit, complaining about the equipment, or the fact that you're never alone (because there are cameras following you everywhere). It's a reality show, dude. Of COURSE the cameras are everywhere!!! Christina and Gully were talking straight to him in their speeches before elimination. I hope he takes it to heart.
Hopefully he will be gone next time
I’m interested about who he’s referring to when saying that Israel wants it more than other riders.
@@danielshearer1439 himself it would seem!
Isreael, don't let this be a letdown! You may have placed low but you are definitely better than everyone I know. Keep doing what you love and with a attitude like that you will go far 🤙
Glad to see there was an indoor bit with the air quality issues 🌲 🔥
I was choking just watching how Smokey it was.
The right 4 were in the bottom this week. I thought that Cody would be going home because of his negativity, but Israel was bottom in both challenges and the numbers don't lie. Great episode!
SHOW the god damn stats! Like "How many watts are they pushing?" I'm yelling at my TV over here! 😄
They showed the w/kg after each contestant finish
@@rubbersidedown4804 not the point. They show live stats during the effort like heart rate and stress level, but not WATTS. Why not!? They also don't show a leader board at the end. If you're watching a race, you wanna know the relevant stats.
@@HeretiCflow I also didn't catch a leader board at first, but they showed it quick @39:46. Had to pause to actually take a solid look.
Yeah the sporadic pop up Garmin stats aren't good enough
@@rubbersidedown4804 yeah but not each rider's weight. you're left guessing on actual watt #s
Wrong choice, I hope that it wasn't in vain. Israel will land on his feet, you cannot help but love that guy! Looking forward to seeing more of him!
Cody should def have been the one eliminated with his terrible attitude.
Y E S
i thought the same. Maybe he'll come around next episode though.
I believe they call it “swag” or something Idk
Just remember that in reality TV, they edit things to emphasise a chosen narrative.
@@_Encie would be good, but that attitude has been around for a long time , so pretty hard to change in one week, i feel its his go too mood , when stuff does not go his way , we will see
I vote they put Israel as a Pinkbike host in Mexico bringing exposure to the Mexican scene, Guy is so positive he would be an amazing ambassador
Tears at the end thank god I'm eating pizza to get me through this emotional train ride. Pink bike academy perfect
I’m so happy my lunch at school is during the release of new episodes :)
Lol. My teacher is a mountain biker so he let's me watch the episodes in class.
@@shredditsbiking brooooooo i have a cyclocrosser for a teacher, and she let's me watch stuff too sometimes, that's so sick
@@tygrewesterfield841 my teacher played the rampage livestream when rampage happened. That's when we saw vansteenbergens crash
Cody embarrassed himself with his first week's behavior after the bad run, and he's been unable to get himself out of defensive mode since. We've all been there to some extent--having a hard time shaking something off, behaving less than perfectly, and getting stuck in a rut out of embarrassment.
Two takeaways: 1) regardless of the type of competition, you have to learn and move on, because negativity burns a lot of energy, affects those around you, and keeps you from focusing on what's ahead; and 2) you have to practice, practice, practice. Cody admitted he'd only ridden half the track. Better race prep and we all might be seeing a very different Cody.
It goes for MTB too...the most important 6 inches on the track/field/court is the 6 inches between your ears. Mental toughness is the key to being great. I don't have it. I was smart and talented, but I was too hard on myself. So, here I sit at 50, in a job I hate with all that talent wasted. Let's hope Cody figures it out.
Was so stoked for this!
I didn't know how much I needed this til I started watching it. I can't wait for more episodes.
Been waiting for this! Didn’t disappoint :)
Standing in an FTP test is definitely frowned upon 😂😂
PinkBike and Boom Box Group, you've done it again! Just finished Ep 2, and wanting to see Ep 3 NOW! Great job!!
That would be an excellent candidate for a host. Hope this is the Tom Bradshaw of this season.
Someone make that positive little S.O.B. a brand ambassador!
Really enjoying this series 👌
wishing all the best luck to you guys!!
Yes guys ! I've been waiting for this !!!
Damn Israel was beginning to feel like the Addison Zawada of this season with his attitude. Hope he finds something that he loves.
I love Israel's response when asked how he thought he did. Wisdom!
I get it. At the end of the day, you gotta be fast or have the potential to be fast...
Israel is the peak of a positive attitude. Man deserves to be an ambassador of a large MTB company so much
Ok, that is NOT who I wanted to go home today.....UGH!!!! What a cool cat, I hoped he was going to be on more episodes.
Love this show so much
uff elegante! muy inspirador.. Mas mas
Buena Israel que bien verte con esos ánimos de seguir dándole aló que te gusta saludos desde México Guanajuato
God damn, Israel almost had me choking up with that last monologue. I really hope Cody, pulls it together I've never seen an athlete go the long haul with an attitude like that.
Tori has my heart! I love her energy and positivity.
Ahh, Israel was my favorite! Keep going in the future!:)
Israel is so
AWESOME!!!! Makes me want to get out and ride more than any of the others. What a great attitude and wonderful spirit to share and lead by example. I'm going to try to spread a bit of Israel's vibe in my day to day.
Would have been good to see the wattage they were at.
Characters like Israel are the reason why elimination from the competition shouldn't mean elimination from the show/experience. Love everything you do, Pinkbike.
I love pink bike I’m applying next year I just want to race with cool people!!

Come on Flo!!! Let’s go for the win 💪🏻
Very PROUD of Israel. Even thou he has a disadvantaged coming from the trails available in Mexico and other places in Latinomerica, he was awesome. Wish lots of good stuff for his near future. Orale!!!
So emotional 😢 God love him and cody loose that chip on your shoulder, stop criticising yourself and others. Your enough bro!
Pinkbike keep it up will be a million subscriber soon.
Gutted!
I totally get the decision, at the beginning of ep1 they said Race Results are GOING TO COUNT.
That doesn't mean I can't be disappointed.
But Israel seriously had the most positive attitude and Im sure thats going to take him far.
Man its so good to see all these positive comments
Dude I literally cried
PB, You all messed up. You can grow someone’s endurance and bike skills. Heart, mind, and attitude take that person choosing to grow themselves over much more time. Israel, God bless you and I hope your potential and talent is shared in many areas of your life 🤙🏼
The intro song always gets me pumped
This is the first time I have seen these videos. I swear if these could go on prime time TV or streaming it would make mountain biking very popular in the U.S. Maybe the US could actually have major sports channel coverage on ESPN.
Israel representa a todos los ciclistas normales y que viven la bicicleta con ilusión. Bravo!
Go youngblood Emmett and go Tori and Kyra Go CANADA !!
That tori chick is on peds
Really didn’t want to see Israel leave! Best of luck in the future!
Sad to see Israel leave, such a beautiful attitude and a heart of gold
The way Cody slumped in that chair should have been grounds for elimination
PinkBike en español, presented by Israel! whos with me! :)
My local trails are almost 4000 m above sea level. Vamos Isra!!!
Loving the series but these amount of sponsors are doing my head in, it's like a James bond film 😂
Emmet was the only one going further than 4Watt/kg? I thought there would have been some more...
Yeah some of them are below average Rider, it feels like they pick some random people
Most were over 3.2 w/kg which is not an average FTP. It's not enough for a racer, but a random person would be below 3.
@@MigsMTB I‘m also racing bikes semi-professional in Germany. My FTP is about 4.4/4.5...
I’m am surprised they weren’t higher. I would think even though it’s downhill/enduro they’d have a better understanding of cycling fitness and be fitter. I would’ve thought in a competition like this the baseline would’ve been 3.6+ at least.
@@dcasandman yeah most of them couldn’t be pro, I’m surprise that there are no skills requirements to get on the show
Israel is awesome! May his journey be a great one!
Cody's princess attitude does him no favours. Being a good/nice person clearly gets you nowhere in life.
Hard work and a positive attitude is everything.
I wish my man Israel all that is good in life. What a solid human being.
PLUR
I'm glad Christina P said it before I did; Cody is a total Debby Downer. He had a bad day on the bike and turned into a total buzz kill. He's his own worst enemy.
DON'T EVER GIVE UP ISREAL! YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL SOUL! GENUINE AND TRUE! YOU INSPIRE ME, YOU TOOK THAT HIT WITH GRACE, DIGNITY AND A WORLD OF INTEGRITY! I BET YOU A MILLION DOLLARS IF YOU WORKED ON YOUR CARDIO AND TRAINED, THEY WOULD ASK YOU BACK FOR NEXT SEASON. WHAT A COMEBACK STORY! PINKBIKE WOULD BE FOOLISH NOT TO ASK YOU BACK FOR NEXT SEASON, BECAUSE YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO BE THERE, WITH SOME MORE CARDIO TRAINING? I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE AT PINK BIKE READING THIS THREAD, SIX MONTHS OF CARDIO TRAINING WOULD CHANGE YOUR GAME 1000%! NEVER GIVE UP ISREAL, PEOPLE ARE WATCHING, YOU CAN DO THIS! THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME INSPIRATION TO BE A BETTER PERSON. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD, I AM PROUD OF YOU AND I KNOW YOUR FAMILY IS.
There is nothing to stop Israel working on his fitness and endurance and coming back next year. Cant believe some of these people had never done a FTP test!
Wow, watching sweaty people sitting in a room and cycling on machines. For 40 minutes. Yep, that's exactly what mountain biking is about.
With Israel's attitude and personality I wouldn't be surprised to see him on PB in some other capacity in the future.
Feels like watching the good old PowerRanger Intro 😅
I generally don't like Pinkbike's materials, i know you guys are probably one of the most known YT channels regarding MTB yet i dislike a lot of the content and the style.
This ....this i do enjoy and i have to say you're doing a great job. It's very interesting to see a reality show regarding MTB, what skills it takes to make it to the pro and so on.
Good job, after i finish the second season i'll probably head on to see the first one as well.
No inventen por que sacana mi mexa, por el veia las competencias! Siempre sacan a mis favourites!
“What is 50 seconds. That’s like nothing” when you Doing intervals or an ftp test it’s literally 17 years
Israel is a real winner. Hope the industry recognised that smiles sell bikes
wish you all the best Israel!
While the FTP test is performed, do they have to hold a consistent pedal frequenz? I did the same in a test but we added 25 Watts every 3 min with a pedal frequenz of 80 at least to hold.
As much as I feel Israel deserved credit for his positivity, I also understand the self-doubt that Cody is feeling and I would not feel happy to be in his position of being on the chopping block beside such a genial fella and getting through. Hopefully he will be more competitive on the next episode! Laura is just a tank, she never complains, just turns those cranks.
“Yeah let’s go crush some souls.” Lol
Wait, so was the song in the beginning, I saw the description, but when I listened to what was said, it was completely different
The way they reacted to the FTP is how I feel during each ride lol. Would not want to try that
Israel truly has a heart or solid gold. His attitude is absolutely amazing.
So sad to see him go
how long prior to filming did the contestants know they'd been picked? no chance I'd have entered if I wasn't in peak fitness. You can gain fitness far more quickly than experience, skills and confidence on the bike.
Yessss
Israel is am amazing rider, I hope he gets the sponsors supports that he deserves.
please upload all the episodes at the same time, this isn't healthy for me to wait a week for the next episode, thank you
