    Love my Shinko 244. Feels great on the asphalt too!

    Baby oil made my tire go on like a breeze, didn't even need to bother with the zip ties. Valve stem was a piece of cake with narrow needle nose pliers to hold it and force it up into its hole.

    For future reference, they do make "rim savers" to protect the rim from the spoons. Normally they are thick plastic, so it can make it harder to remove the tire. Especially so if the tire is really tight, the wheel is small, or the rim doesnt have a good indent for the bead to sit while installing or removing.

    tire pressure? Tried with 32psi.. no way to go, wobbling a lot. Lowered to 25 seems ok

    • @WILSONsHobbies
      @WILSONsHobbies  Před 15 dny

      i ride 28-30. Yes, the lowered pressure on this tire makes it more stable for sure! Shinkos can be run low , although other people tell me other wise to keep it at the max recommended to protect rim. I guess if your not jumping , hopping up curbs or going down stairs, the lowered psi would be fine.

      @@WILSONsHobbies as tire have single narrow central rubber spikes row, running tire at higher pressure is the same as trying to balance on razzor blade, lol

    Hello, i was thinking putting a more streat tire. I like the grips it has in the wood but when riding on pavement its like it goes in straight line and when turning its an extra efforts if it smaller radius turn...i have to put way more body transfert. Is this the reason you switched? Thank you

      from my my experience with a pilot street two tire on my sherman s, yes that is the behavior that the street tire will have, it will keep you up right therefore, you have to put more effort in turning but more practice with it actually feels stable and planted

    Great vid! Are u getting the Patton upgrade with the 50S battery? I got mine today!

      I wasnt aware there was an upgrade. That is good to hear. Do you get better range with that battery upgrade?

    • @ScrubbyRocks
      @ScrubbyRocks Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@WILSONsHobbies Yes, better range and more top end speed, which I do not plan to explore. :) Also do you hear low hummy/static sounds when the wheel is idle and upright?

      DID you get yoursfrom ewheels? was it a free upgrade? I do have a hummy sound yes when my wheel is idle. upright too

      @@WILSONsHobbies Yes, I got it from ewheels. No extra charge for the 50S. Also I recorded the idle sounds, can you tell me if this is the same sound that you are hearing? Also I noticed the sounds increase a bit when I turn on the light. - czcams.com/video/_ItnI53xVWQ/video.html

    Do you see a HUGE differance between stock tire knobby and the shinko 241? I have one, but I’m debating putting it on. Seems like an ordeal when the stock feels good…thoughts?

    • @WILSONsHobbies
      @WILSONsHobbies  Před 7 měsíci +2

      YES very much a huge difference. The stock knobby felt too nimble on the road , but was really great on dirt . Shinko 241 feels more stable . If you like the stock and having no issues with it, I'd say keep the stock. If you are having issues with stability at speed , put the shinko 241.

      @@WILSONsHobbies how long is this going to take me you think? I’m nervous about the tire not lining up perfectly and that valve sticking out too far like you mentioned. Where do you notice the most difference, straight, turning, carving, overall better grip? Sorry I’m leaning back and forth lol

    • @milordas
      @milordas Před 12 hodinami

      Difference is huge, but in bad aspec, at least for me. I just have SR241, ordered V14 knoby tire for comparison, should be better, but not received yet

    I watched a lot of the live stream, even commented that I wanted to see how you put the tire on the rim.. you skipped over all of it!! (I know you were having problems getting the valve stem in the hole)

    • @WILSONsHobbies
      @WILSONsHobbies  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hey Mark, sorry that you didnt get to see the tire being put on the trim. Yea I saw the chat message you made , near the end of the 1st live stream. I was getting a bit frustrated and didnt know how much longer it would take to figure it all out on my own and decided to spare the audience this dragged out time . For some reason it was really hard to get the valve out and into the rim. This tire type/rim seems a bit difficult compared to all of tire changes. I did put the tire on with some fandangling and resumed the live video. The part of the video in the beginning me explaining how i prepare the tire did come in handy , and some bullsnot lube helped get the tough carcass over the rim. If i had done it with the tire on first and then feed in the tube, i would have most likely pinched it.

    I will point out that there is nothing wrong with the stock tire and swapping one knobby for another is a waste of time - it's not worth the effort - especially since the new tire you put on is worse than the stock one - all it's knobs are in straight lines which creates instability ("dead zones") when turning.
