Charles in FL believes that the Bible is infallible and has never been proven wrong. Tell the police officer behind you to be cool because you are on a live call in a show. Is the mustard seed the smallest seed in the world? Is what is true in biology going to be true years from now? Did gravity not exist before we knew about it? Did your omnipotent god know about the things that we did not know about at the time the Bible was written? Incorrect information is still false regardless of what we know about it at the time something was written.

If you learn how to read properly, you will begin to see the truth! If you continuously take one statement out of context, then it’s East to say something is false. But when you actually read things in context you will see the truth in the statement. The mustard seed is the smallest seed that will grow into a tree. Look it up! Stop being ignorant!

"Bible Has Never Been Proven Wrong"
Actually, not only have it been proven wrong multiple times, it has never been proven true in the first place.

    • @martinkuliza
      @martinkuliza Před rokem +2

      Actually.. to be fair
The bible in it's entirety is not false
PARTS of the bible are true
      Examples
thou shalt not steal is true
Thou shalt not kill is true
Ethiopia (mentioned in the bible) is a real place
      as is egypt
      stuff like that
      Parts are true
but the parts that matter....are not
Really you only need to really prove one point before any other to give it any credibility
PROVE THAT MOSES WAS A REAL PERSON
      You see....
(and this has been proven as false)
      - Without moses you have no commandments
      - Without moses the first book of the bible is not written
      - therefore no bible
      - Therefore god's laws were never passed onto man, if they were there in the first place
The bible was created by the catholic church, that's how it all started and they were entrusted as "speaking on god's behalf" and realistically, NO ONE QUESTIONED THEM
the only reason why the bible holds true to some of these people is it is filled with some level of truth so when a debate arises they go to that
if it was all lies, it would fall over, but it's not
      the problem is .....
they call it GOD'S INFALLABLE WORD
it is however, not god's word and a simple phone call to the publishing company settles that debate
I have actually called them and asked them , they are legally obligated to tell you the truth for the sake of non misrepresentation
You see.. the idea is... if they lie to you when asked a direct question you can sue them
and what they'll tell you is
this is not god's original word, it is our intellectual property that we can alter without prior written notification or warning
they will also tell you that if you choose to follow it you do so from your own choice
      see... Deniability
but yeah.. you can literally call them and ask
sometimes they will tell you The bible is INSPIRED BY GOD
but when asked, is it his original word, they will always tell you NO IT'S NOT
simple as that, Bible as gods word.... disproven

Honestly, moses being fictional takes out the majority of the bible anyway, After that what difference does it make if you prove anything else correct, the entire thing is based around the commandments.
Another quick point, the bible on it's own merit does a pretty good job of disproving itself

    • @JarlGrimmToys

Very few Christians believe everything in the bible is literally true.
Most people who read the bible and see it claims there was a tree so big that could be seen by anyone in the world. Or that god created all languages, that plants and light existed before the sun and stars.
Most Christians read that and say it was a parable or metaphor rather than literally true. Starting with the belief that it’s all true and cannot be wrong. Leads you to a bunch of wacky conclusions and denial of facts.
There’s a reason why a higher percentage of flat earthers are also young Earth creationists than the general population. Again if they start with the assumption there was a literal tree that could be seen from Europe, Asia, Americas etc at the same time. You can only assume that the world is flat. Which leads you down a rabbit hole of conspiracies that scientists are lying about everything (even the Christian ones).

What about inconsistencies among the four gospels? Finally, how would one demonstrate that the god, not people, actually wrote the whole megilla? Has the caller even read it?

    • @funmakers2093
      @funmakers2093 Před rokem

I agree. I thought these hosts were pretty incompetent in nailing this guy to the cross. They completely missed the opportunity to explain how the layers were inconsistent with scientific findings. We would have fossils swimming up from layers somehow and winding up in the wrong year. Up to 4,590-foot thicknesses of radiolarians occur on the Pacific Ocean floor. Radiolarians are tiny marine organisms with silica skeletons.
And they also contain chloroplasts and must float near the ocean surface to obtain sunlight. The rate at which dead radiolarians settle to the bottom of the ocean is too slow for that thickness and amount of radiolarians to accumulate in the 4,500 years since Noah’s flood. Although radiolarians are not found in the sedimentary rocks of the Grand Canyon,
fossilized radiolarians are common in sedimentary layers in other parts of the world of the same geologic age, and each of these layers contains distinctly different radiolarian species that are among more than 4,000 different species that have been identified. Chaotic rushing waters of a tsunami in Noah’s flood would have been unable to sort out these different species in different geologic ages from those living early in the flood to those created late in the flood. There must have a heck of a lot of cubicmeters of water since it had to cover the Himalayas, the Alps and the Andes for example. But then somehow all this water disappeared and Noah, his family and all the animals got out and immediately found habitats where they could live and multiply.
Later on in the Bible Noahs offspring had been busy giving birth to children and some of the ended up in Egypt. Wait a minute where did these egyptians suddenly come from?
And there were people in China that had never heard about this strange God that drowns people and destroys cities with thermonuclear brimstones because he did not like their way of life and killed all firstborn in Egypt. He will tire people out listing the inconsistencies in the bible (rather than just watching a Non-Stamp Collector video) even though the Bible being infallible is not s core tenet of his belief. He would still believe if it was fallible. So what's the point?

In Matthew 15-16, Jesus and his disciples have the Passover dinner, AFTER which he is betrayed, taken into custody, tortured, and the next morning put to death. In John 19 it specifically says that Jesus was crucified the morning BEFORE the Passover dinner. So, which was it?

  • @JarlGrimmToys
    @JarlGrimmToys Před rokem +5

So basically Jesus lied because they couldn’t conceive of something being smaller than a mustard seed?. Which would still make the bible incorrect.
How about Jesus saying there are tiny creatures that we cannot see with the naked eye. That cause diseases and all you have to do is wash your hands more often.
The bible says you should wash your hands and feet before praying or entering temple. But Jesus was chastised by the Pharisees for letting his disciples eat without washing their hands first in the tradition of their elders.
Jesus said it is not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, but what comes out.
So Jesus is seemingly promoting not washing your hands before eating. Even though it was tradition for the Jews.

I know that there's a delay usually, but one of my biggest pet peeves are when a caller is constantly trying to talk when the hosts, you know, the people who are directing where conversations are supposed to go because it's their show, are trying to navigate the conversation. They act like it's their right to be on the show. You callers: You're guests! If Secular Rarity or Dr. Ben were calling into a theist show, I would imagine that they would show respect.

  • @grapeman63

Charles has obviously never read a book on astronomy.
The Pleiades is not a constellation but an open cluster of stars within the constellation of Taurus. They are about 444 light years away from the Earth and are contained within a reflection nebula that has a diameter of about 15.5 light years. They are about 50 million years old which makes them mere babies in galactic terms.
Far from being fixed, the stars in the cluster will, over time, disperse throughout the galaxy. This is due to gravitational disturbances, that will effect each sibling star slightly differently, as the stars orbit around the galactic centre. The Pleiades has, so far, only completed about a quarter of its first galactic orbit and so its stars are still very close together.
The Sun was born in a similar nebula about 4.6 billion years ago meaning that it has completed 21 orbits of the galactic centre and its sibling stars are now strewn throughout the galaxy. For instance, the Sun has a twin star called HD186302 now located 184 light years away in the constellation Pavo. These two siblings, that were born close together, have drifted apart by about 9 light years for every completed orbit of the galaxy.
Something else that the Bible got completely wrong.
