I'm with Otz, BT adds the most health states for a single perk, potentially 6 extra health states for one player using BT on a team. That's an amazing amount of value imo.
If a person with BT unhooks a team-mate and that ally takes a hit during the BT duration, they are not downed by it. This is effectively a health state (Healthy>Injured>Dying, except you endure the transition from Injured to Dying in this case). This person, in theory, could unhook every team-mate twice and those people, in theory, could all get hit during BT each time. Thus, six health states of extra health from normal use of the perk. Not terribly likely, obviously, but yeah.
@@jackfinnian2064 He meant that with BT there is a chance to take even more hits, so the killer will have to hit people more w/o any benefit for him. "6 health states for one perk slot" is because you can bring 1 BT in the match and unhook other survivors 6 times = 6 BT's = 6 health states.
@@jackfinnian2064 sure np. If one player equips BT and does all the rescues (not hard to set up in a swf except his own) then the perk can activate six times in a game. If the killer hits the players when the perk is active (by bad decisions or by being forced to) then the player gets an additional health state by going into deep wounds rather than being downed. This can happen six times. This exact scenario is extremely unlikely but there is no perk which even comes close to the maximum potential of BT, especially given how two BT users can cover their whole team.
@@fred7883 Scott and Otz are buds and have played together many times before, so this video is not “entitlement” he’s just being silly. Don’t be annoying
What might have influenced otz’ opinion on these perks could honestly be his winstreak project. This project forces him to play sweaty, sometimes tunneling people off-hook or soft-core camping. This could explain why to him, DS,UB and BT seem more impactful as he’s forced to either respect them or risk loosing valuable time. Iron will alone however does not make you win/loose a game in a winstreak or at least it’s not as apparent when it does
put autodidact in there. especially if you play with a swf. it feels like a meme perk until you realize it actually fucking works really well once you get those first two skill checks get out of the way
Scott: This is the strongest perk and here's why. Otz: These perks are stronger and here's why. Scott: Well, I don't even want to win so it doesn't matter to me.
I think BT, DS and Unbreakable ARE the strongest perks when you look at how the game would be played if they were removed. But if we're talking about the strongest perks to BRING, they're definitely not as good as some of the exhaustion perks. And the fact that you do not even need to bring BT, DS or Unbreakable in a lot of cases, since decent killers will play around avoiding those even when they don't know if they're in use, makes them even less valuable to bring.
Well, in many cases, what works against you personally is much more important and impactful than what generically works best. That's why tournament teams (in anything, not just DBD) study how the other teams compete, how they play, etc. That said, I get your point.
Hey Scott, there's a few notable exceptions to Iron Will working well against every killer. The Plague and Nemesis can infect, making survivors emit sickness sounds which render Iron Will basically useless.
8:54 80% of survivors at least run an exhaustion perk, either Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Lithe or Balance Landing. If you keep track of survivors and their exhaustion perk, waiting for Dead Hard is not something you need to do all the time. I would say that the other perks, like BT, DS or Unbreakable drive more fear in the killers than DH.
@Fornax It's strong at some loops. If you leave a Pallet Gym even after a stun with Smash Hit, the killer will catch up to you quite fast. It has the same problem as Lithe, at some windows you need to waste the perk because you need to see where the killer is coming from.
"otz is arguing from a very competitive 'I want to win' perspective." What other perspective is there when you're arguing about the strongest perks in a competitive multiplayer game? The better argument would be you were looking at it from a "whether I take the perk or not" perspective as opposed to "whether it's in the game or not."
Otz responded to this on his stream and his chat was embarrassing, went full hostility mode towards Scott. Scott and Otz actually have good chemistry whether they're cooperating or debating, it's all in good fun. Socially awkward twitch viewers lol
I also got triggered when he said "that's about it" as if changing your chase style isnt big deal, in a game where chase time matters a ton lol. how many times has he lost a chase because the other person already went to another tile, while he was still looping/mindgaming the same one, but didnt know the survivor already left because of iron will? how is that an easily swept away "thats about it" point in DBD lol.
Literally doesn't matter. Something that gives you an advantage for free is more powerful than something that uses up a limited number of slots. You can run what you think are the strongest perks, and you'll still benefit from everything Otz says. You get the free ~0.1 effect from the perk existing, regardless of your loadout.
I think Unbreakable's inconsistency argument also applies to Iron Will, albeit to a lesser degree. Every Killer has to worry about Unbreakable (Pyramid Head is possibly the best Killer against it since he can cage someone he'd otherwise have to slug but that's fairly niche). It's also a perk that single-handedly demolishes Killers like Oni, Plague, Twins, Myers, Huntress etc... really, any snowball Killer. So it's moderately good into any Killer with a chance of being BACKBREAKING against certain Killers. Many Killers have ways to work around Iron Will/flat out ignore it. Plague: good luck hiding your sounds when you're puking and retching lol Doctor: if they're in chase with you in Madness III, they're constantly screaming (and potentially glowing/revealing their aura in other ways depending on addons) so you're NEVER losing them Hag/Trapper: if they run into a trap it doesn't matter if Iron Will makes them quiet as a mouse, they're still gonna get slapped Twins: between Victor's detection radius highlighting Iron Will gamers, Victor's built in Bloodhound meaning anyone injured is spilling Kool-Aid all over the floor, and Victor's playmates when he's attached having their location given away by a loudly shrieking French child tearing into their skull... you're not making many Iron Will plays against a smart Twins. Myers and Ghostface are both stealth Killers, meaning you need to heal against them to not get jumped, and insta-down Killers, meaning they'll be taking you from healthy to downed a lot without Iron Will ever becoming a factor. Hell, Nemesis even makes his Contamination targets cough. No Killer can consistently work around Unbreakable, and several Killers are wrecked by a single Unbreakable just as part of their daily business. Several Killers can consistently work around/ignore IW, and it only really demolishes a single Killer (Spirit, who is strong enough and has enough visual cues to be able to work around it anyway)
Yeah I’ve been having plenty of games where the survivors are silent on the ground. Really sucks if it happens during EGC and I can’t find the last guy
I have actually taken Iron WIll off, because I get this free-Iron-Will bug so often. Also apparently this bug is actually server-side. Because everytime I cant hear myself, the killer appears to not hear me either. Interesting how this game works.
I whole heartedly believe that OTZ put unbreakable so high because he gets DS's probably 3 times more often than Scott. He's so tired of getting DS over the years that he slugs pretty hard and therefore the unbreakable plays you say are so rare are pretty frequent for him.
He already talked about it in some of his past videos about the patch it was changed in, if I recall correctly. Also shh, don't talk about it or more survivors will start running it.
I think you should rate these perks more from a survivor side of view, ds or bt might not bother you when playing killer but as a survivor you get lots of value almost every game.
Honestly man, I feel like you and him having a healthy debate about the game is great! Talking different strategies and ways to play the game is one of the best ways to open people's eyes and keep the game healthy and fresh. I love both of y'all's content and I'm really glad you responded to his response lol. Keep on keepin on Scott. Love you dawg
I think what’s interesting is that they both agree on the perks, but just disagree with what makes a perk the best. Otz seems to think that a perk having an effect when it’s not there is what makes the best perks, and Scott thinks that what matters is what happens when you equip the perk, which is some really interesting discourse.
My biggest problem with placing Borrowed Time at the top vs Iron Will is that you will almost ALWAYS get value out of Iron Will whereas there are plenty of instances of you not really getting much value out of Borrowed Time. Yet people only ever seem to consider the max potential of the perk rather than the consistent utility. In my opinion, new Borrowed Time gets easily cucked by just waiting out the timer, especially if the survivors are coming from basement. It takes almost half the timer just to leave basement lmao It is very easy to just run survivors down now. People really don't realize how huge that reduction of 3 seconds is. Imo, Iron Will is better simply by the constant value I get out of it. I would probably never run a build without Iron Will. In general, I just really disagree with the perspective of rating things primarily max potential or "DBD in theory" approach. In theory, a Killer could navigate around Borrowed Time every time by just not going back to the hook or finding a way around body blockers and then you get NO VALUE out of Borrowed Time. Whereas, with exhaustion perks and Iron Will, you will ALWAYS get value out of them. Hell, I would even argue that if we are going by max potential, then Iron Will STILL has the best max potential of any perk. Iron Will is quite literally a game changing perk that allows you access to new options/decisions against good killers and can allow you to leave tiles early while the killer mindgames themselves, wasting their time and allowing you to maintain pallets for yourself and your team later on. No other perk can really do that. Edit: Yeah, I really don't like how Darva trivializes how much Iron Will changes chases. Iron Will is quite literally the difference between a 20-30 second chase and 2-3 minute chase with minimal pallets used. That is nothing to sneeze at or brush off. People really need to stop sleeping on Iron Will.
The problem I have with the first 3 perks is that they're very inconsistent, because if killers want to win they stay away from hooks and try to get pressure instantly to win, iron will is so much more consistent
Like with iron will no matter what killer u get, it's going to work even if it's a one shot killer once u get saved it will work, whilst the first 3 depends on the killer u get, u could get sweaty u could get a chill killer
Yeah i agree. With the exception of BT and the exhaustion perks i think that Unbreakable and DS rarely come into play. Usually when survivors have DS they make it so obvious by running around without a care in the world so i can down them and just slug them or maybe even completely ignore them and let them be useless for 60 seconds if they want to keep their DS. DS is just a safety net of a perk that saves you if you do get tunneled which doesn't happen all that often. Most of the time when you get unhooked the killer already has eyes on another survivor and if he does come back then BT will save you more often that DS will. And as for Unbreakable I rarely see a reason why I should slug. That may be just the way I like to play but unless there is a survivor right in front of me that won't loop me for 25 seconds or take me far away from the slug i see no reason as to why I shouldn't hook them.
@@thesenutties9740 yep the problem with Ds now is that survivors are too scared to do objectives because they'll lose it, which inturn benefits the killer
@@thesenutties9740 also with unbreakable, and there's another survivor is close you will down one and just got for 1 hit on the other then end up going back to downed guy it takes less then 15 seconds and if the survivor is too far you'll just ignore him
Fun little Anti-Camping Build. BT, Deliverance, DS, and Camaraderie. BT to get the hooked guy out, Deliverance to Kobe and save your team from risking their lives, DS to avoid going back on the hook right away, and Camaraderie to buy your team extra time to plan a save.

Iron will alone however does not make you win/loose a game in a winstreak or at least it’s not as apparent when it does
"Everyone runs an exhaustion perk"
except me, who runs bond, kindred, BT and an interchangable meme perk every match to spice it up
put autodidact in there. especially if you play with a swf. it feels like a meme perk until you realize it actually fucking works really well once you get those first two skill checks get out of the way
Open-handed actually fits kindred and bond REALLY well. 32m radius of the killers aura to the hook is amazing, especially on indoor maps
"Jesus.. He's so Powerful" 🤣🤣🤣
Scott: This is the strongest perk and here's why.
Otz: These perks are stronger and here's why.
Scott: Well, I don't even want to win so it doesn't matter to me.
Scott, he’s a robot. He doesn’t need a script
I think BT, DS and Unbreakable ARE the strongest perks when you look at how the game would be played if they were removed. But if we're talking about the strongest perks to BRING, they're definitely not as good as some of the exhaustion perks. And the fact that you do not even need to bring BT, DS or Unbreakable in a lot of cases, since decent killers will play around avoiding those even when they don't know if they're in use, makes them even less valuable to bring.
they are so strong that you dont even need to bring them which reduces their importance
what a funny thing
“Iron will is the best perk” (against me)*
Well, in many cases, what works against you personally is much more important and impactful than what generically works best. That's why tournament teams (in anything, not just DBD) study how the other teams compete, how they play, etc.
That said, I get your point.
Literally the whole argument that shouldn't had existed.
Best Buy does sell food. Usually up at the front. You can get sodas, candy, crips, and the like. Sounds pretty fishy that you didn't know that Scott.
Hey Scott, there's a few notable exceptions to Iron Will working well against every killer. The Plague and Nemesis can infect, making survivors emit sickness sounds which render Iron Will basically useless.
I just finished watching otzdarva's video, this is great lmao
Same bro i refreshed my feed and this video was up. Perfect timing 🔥🙏🏾
Nah bro, lot of gibirish. So booring. Who even is this goof?
if Scott suddenly changes his opinion, it is because the Russians got him and have converted him into a robot.
hi thanos kranberry
Or the Canadians kidnapped him
We will not do this. Dont worry.
For me, Smash Hit and Head On are meme perks. I can expect Camaraderie more often than Smash Hit.
@Fornax It's strong at some loops. If you leave a Pallet Gym even after a stun with Smash Hit, the killer will catch up to you quite fast. It has the same problem as Lithe, at some windows you need to waste the perk because you need to see where the killer is coming from.
"The best perk is whatever you think is the best"
Weird way to pronounce sprint burst but I see you
'Everyone runs an exhaustion perk' - Me, who often doesn't: smiles nervously
Iron will is my exhaustion perk slot, I hear you
better joke would be "doesnt sweat nervously"
When I saw Otz's video earlier, I knew we were in for a treat with Scott
"otz is arguing from a very competitive 'I want to win' perspective." What other perspective is there when you're arguing about the strongest perks in a competitive multiplayer game? The better argument would be you were looking at it from a "whether I take the perk or not" perspective as opposed to "whether it's in the game or not."
Otz responded to this on his stream and his chat was embarrassing, went full hostility mode towards Scott. Scott and Otz actually have good chemistry whether they're cooperating or debating, it's all in good fun. Socially awkward twitch viewers lol

The reason Otzdarva made best buy seem like a fast-food restaurant because he is a robot, so the electronics are food for him.

Lmao watching Otz's first, I didn't even realize the head knock was specifically for Scott
A "fix" for solo queue would be for survivors to be able to see other survivors' loadout in the pre-game screen
Unbreakable only gets you up from the ground once a match thats about it
This way any perk can sound bad
7:35 u can dh through a static blast and get a flashlight save when the killer wont expect it thats the main reason to do it
I think Unbreakable's inconsistency argument also applies to Iron Will, albeit to a lesser degree.
Plague: good luck hiding your sounds when you're puking and retching lol
Doctor: if they're in chase with you in Madness III, they're constantly screaming (and potentially glowing/revealing their aura in other ways depending on addons) so you're NEVER losing them
Hag/Trapper: if they run into a trap it doesn't matter if Iron Will makes them quiet as a mouse, they're still gonna get slapped
Twins: between Victor's detection radius highlighting Iron Will gamers, Victor's built in Bloodhound meaning anyone injured is spilling Kool-Aid all over the floor, and Victor's playmates when he's attached having their location given away by a loudly shrieking French child tearing into their skull... you're not making many Iron Will plays against a smart Twins.
I wanna see how far this goes
Using the D&D music in the background must have been comeback for Scott using Otz's stream when he had to clean up after a catccident.
Best Buy doesn’t sell food? That explains the food quality.
"I don't really understand that arguement, so I'm not going to respond to it." Wise words
as always i have no clue what Scott's talking about, but i like the way he says it.
I've been getting the free iron will bug almost every other game now. Is it just me that's it's happening too?
"Iron will isn't the best non exhaustion perk in DBD" proceeds to talk about dead hard and sprint burst for 5 ish mins
Day one of trying to convince Scott to talk about how good Lucky Break is.
He already talked about it in some of his past videos about the patch it was changed in, if I recall correctly.
Also shh, don't talk about it or more survivors will start running it.

Otz and Scott:
I love how they’re casually having fun with each other.
Ye just having a peaceful argument
I think you should rate these perks more from a survivor side of view, ds or bt might not bother you when playing killer but as a survivor you get lots of value almost every game.
Honestly man, I feel like you and him having a healthy debate about the game is great! Talking different strategies and ways to play the game is one of the best ways to open people's eyes and keep the game healthy and fresh.

Now I want Otz to make a video "Responding to Scottjund's response of my response"
"He's playing my music ,the fooker" 😂
When the killer is deaf, this perk doesn't do anything
Well since the devs put the Discordance 1 vs 3 debate in the dirt they need *something* to argue about now
Scott: I don't tunnel people and I don't hit the guy that gets off the hook
Also Scott: *Post that video when he eats two DS consecutively*
Ok but we're still nerfing pig right?
Scott: who tf is deadharding through a blast?
Sweh: so yeah...
The problem I have with the first 3 perks is that they're very inconsistent, because if killers want to win they stay away from hooks and try to get pressure instantly to win, iron will is so much more consistent
Like with iron will no matter what killer u get, it's going to work even if it's a one shot killer once u get saved it will work, whilst the first 3 depends on the killer u get, u could get sweaty u could get a chill killer
except none of it works.
