- Over the past few months the developers of Dead by Daylight have hosted the first official DBD Tournaments since 2018,
The Dead by Daylight Community Cups were the first official tournament hosted by Behaviour since 2018.
They were very unique region locked tournaments with hundreds of participants
Sadly it has been announced that they would only host one last Cup and end them for good.
To give this one a real shot. I contacted some old friends and we built a group with a top tier Survivor team and Otzdarva as our Killer.
We had a very rough start into the tournament..

I think if they ever implemented game modes they should do a tourney mode so you don't see the perks in the end lobby

@@remingtongagnard4442 I heckin love getting downed and slugged by a 150%(can be faster with add-ons) movement speed baby with no terror radius or red stain, then watching my entire team of randos get slugged 3-4 minutes in. Twins is problematic and extremely boring to face when survivors are split up, which is how survivors should play against literally EVERY OTHER KILLER in the game

I found this tournament to be quite enjoyable. Playing with my Huntress against you guys was a fantastic experience, even though my performance didn't quite meet my expectations. This was my first and likely my only tournament, but I appreciate the memories made.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm not participating in any more tournaments, not because I'm giving up, but because I just have other commitments that require my attention.

Well yeah but he's already a great Blight and Blight is one of the best killers, Otz was consistently across several games with less powerfull ones.

Fr. I started Blight because of Lilith, but even after hundreds of hours I will look at V1's gameplay and still be mindblown with how crazy is mindgames are mid rush, and how he can doubleback moonrush on the smallest bit of wall.
He is one of the best blights in the world. Overall otz is the better killer, that’s why he played 90% of the killer matches. But v1 is the better blight by far
Both are incredible, i like Otz that he can play so many Killers on same lvl

The fact that Trauma secured their win with skull merchant instead of playing twins that they're great at, and the team in semi-finals (maybe) doing you dirty makes me feel bad because even top tier teams will play scummy just to win.
SM should be banned from tournament play.

Maybe, but this was a competition. Isn’t that exactly the stereotype we talk about? “Only comp teams and people who want to win at all costs play like that” is a common sentiment I hear around the community
The player for Trauma was playing under the assumption that Otz's team would also play SM, in which case not playing SM is literally throwing the match.

I love how the entire video was the survivor squad sweating it out trying to save as many stages to give otz a buffer window meanwhile otz was like picking his teeth with one of the survivor's fingerbones since he managed to kill them all so long ago their bodies completely decomposed

Wel, I think that this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Skull Merchant is nowhere near a healthy design, and needs to either be redone from the ground up, or just straight up removed
The fact that a fully synchronised comp team (in another video) took nearly an hour to actually win the match they were in with her is a testament to her ridiculous design.
The Skull Merchant is absolutely soul crushing to go against. Their design is fundamentally broken and needs to be redone from the ground up like you said.
Skull Merchant is a joke, probably the worst design they have ever come up with, or maybe second worse after Old Legion.

Awesome video as always. Ngl I was seething in anger when the semi final teams made an "oopsie". But the chess Skull merchant in the finals was the cherry on top. Good lord, how I hate that killer. And I'm not going to hate the dude who used her, he seemed like a nice guy. But good lord, I can't respect winning with SM. To me, you were the real champions and this is a cry to BHVR to rework SM.
How did he seem like a nice guy though? You literally saw nothing of him to assume that lol. He's not a nice guy. He has a reputation of being a toxic person within the comp community. He's not well liked, but I can't blame him for choosing SM.

The idea of Otz being targeted as the weaker link shows just how incredible these guys really are.

The amount of cheating I heard about in the community cups where BHVR went "Yeah but it's fine" was gross. Good riddance. Though it was fun to watch these.
I’m curious as to how people cheated. Was it similar to what happened to hens in the 5th match?
@@beegsmonsterstudios955I only played in one community cup several months ago but the exact same thing happened to my group. The killer on their team selected the wrong map causing us to have to restart, but in turn showed our entire builds. I didn’t think it was malicious at the time but maybe it is a cheap tactic some people used
@malusovum Due to the issues this brings, doing so should result in a 2 hook penalty. Everyone knew the rules, you mess it up, that's your bad.
@@beegsmonsterstudios955 in the earlier community cups they weren't region locked so teams from anywhere in the world could play in any event. Also, more importantly it used to go off of kills and then score at the end of the game, so there was an oce team that would intentionally get themselves killed at 5 gens so as long as their killer 4ked they would win. Pretty sure they made it all the way to finals doing this

i've seen otz play survivor and i've always thought "yeah he's pretty good, definitely better than me" so to see him be an absolute weak link in the one game he played survivor is jarring. the fact that i tend to be the strongest survivor in my lobbies a good % of the time, that he outclasses me, and that he massively under-performs in a setting like this, just goes to show how huge the range of skill expression is for survivors is

@justvolpine8056 I've heard many times they don't want it to be competitive but I cant for the life of me under how it isn't. The core focus of the game is to compete between you and the killer makes no sense to me.
What puzzles me is that if they didn't want DBD to be a comp game, why was SBMM added in the first place? IMO, DBD is a glorified party game. 🤔

The Killer kept the exact same load out. Nothing was changed. Think it was more to do with seeing the survivors perks
