To have children living in deprivation is an abhorrent situation. Ireland can "care" for migrants, but cannot (or will not) look after children.

Cheap prices and easy work ...we have got to get out of this mind set ...being able to afford home is as important as being able to buy good food ..allowing low cost supermarkets just take all the profits and food quality and bio sustainability goes threw the floor ...case in point , the massive dairy industry here ...if milk was 25 % more expensive and the farmer got the benefit....the knock on effect of that would save family farms in Ireland.

Googled it Farmers get 41.58c/L. cost of production is 34c/L. 7 cent profit is 20.59% profit margin . Amazon operate at 7.28% profit margin. You want to add 25% to take the profit margin to 45%. That's 10% more than the largest company in the world ( Microsoft ).

    • @paddyt4043
      @paddyt4043 Před 13 dny +1

@@lawLess-fs1qx many bisnesses operate at higher profit margins than micro soft , hotels and pubs operate at a much higher profit rate ...your cherry picking numbers in order to hammer home your point ....I'll except your pont though because 80% of the farming that goes on here is dairy , every other farmers is kinda screwed because of the massive dairy industries....if irish dairy farmers want too feed half the babies of the world, which they kinda are ...their industry IS massive....
I'm happy for the dairy farmers , let them make hay while there sun shines , I hope they would happy for us beef and sheep farmers were booming , but if they dominate everything and are prioritised , I think it's a bit of a crime to be giving it away on a 7 % profit margin that is pathetic and well you know it...
Do you want every company in the world to be like amazon?, cause that sounds like a george Orwell novel.
Are you suggesting that all small farms should disappear and have an amazon style system of food production here ....ffs man I do not think you have ever birthed a farm animal.
Would you compromise with me and except a 15% increase in dairy profits , the only porpses of which, that i want is that it get reinvested in getting young small farmers off the ground..and be put back into more sustainable farm practices
....under the greens in government ....all the nitrate restrictions and rules they have brought in are just white wash, for the fact that irish big dairy farmers are more damaging to the environment and are not sustainable. They have every blade of grass accounted for
You know those calfs never see their mother right ?, then they grow them and sell it to you at the same price as real beef when it's not real beef its just a by product of the dairy industries ....its fubar and I'm only scratching the surface.
Remember the baby milk shortage in America, we are helping to solve that ... milk is being given away at 42 cents 7 % profit magin is a joke ...
Especially considering we sold our soul for this massive dairy out put ...
, don't mention massive corporations to me again , they are the problem not the solution ... the average age of farmers here is 59 ...thats not good ....and might I remind you we are getting back to pre famine levels of population and once again 75 % of our farm production, mostly In the form of milk products and powders gets exported ....history might not always repeat...it Might not.

ireland was a depressed country with young people emigrating
the celtic tiger came along all based on foreign investment
the free state never developed ireland because that was the terms of the anglo irish treaty and still is
the result of the foreign investment was the banks went 'fiscally insolvent'
    notably the anglo-irish bank
    is this an accident?
at that point the banks should have been liquidated and people with mortgages with these banks should
have been made home-owners in default of the banks
instead the banks were baled the economy contracted and irish people were left to carry the can
    that was 2008
this is 2024 and ecb runs ireland
well that's enough talk but as the tone said my purpose is to break the connection with england the unfailing cause of
all our ills check it youselves yesterday today tomorrow
    why is brexit a failure?
because empire england aka the crown and the city of london financiers will not relinquish ireland i wonder why..
