- The recent protest against the unapproved IPAS centre in the 'Twin Trees Hotel' foisted upon the local people of Ballina, Co. Mayo represents just one example of many towns and villages around the country where the influx of migrants is putting severe strain on the local infrastructure of housing, health and education. Local people are voicing their concerns but the current cobbled together regime isn't listening. The Irish Government is pressing ahead with its seemingly insane open border migration policy with the now obvious destruction of local culture and community in its own country. They are playing a dangerous game of inciting violence against its own people with riot squads and baton charges becoming the norm along with never before seen tent slums popping up around Dublin City.
But the Irish people across the land are finally becoming aware of the existential threat to their existence both locally and as a nation. They are now making their voices heard in the midst of the madness. The battle lines are drawn.
Have the spirit codes of the Tuatha Dé Danann been awoken in Ériu's darkest hour? For the sake of the future of Ireland and its people let’s certainly hope so as it may be our only hope to survive ....

I agree with everything he says. These marches are serious. It is NOT a football match, it is NOT a celebration. @@dlogan3099 My ancestors moved from County Offaly to Manchester in the 1890s. There was plenty of work to be had, plenty of housing for everyone ( especially where they lived, in Trafford Park). The population was much smaller, so less schools were needed. There were tens of thousands of Irish like them. They were needed and mostly welcome. They integrated well with the English and most lived harmoniously side by side with English people. They didn't try and impose their Irish culture on the locals, or their religion or anything else. Today's migrants have little or no respect (or gratitude) towards their host nation. Oh, and it's Ireland these people are living in. It's not like they can use their animosity because of colonialism or past wars and invasions. The Irish people never invaded anyone.

It's worth noting how provision that was beyond the nation's means when required at home suddenly becomes available to meet the demands of all who choose to settle here by legal means or otherwise, and how even the most rational objection from the native Irish attracts allegations of racism, fascism, etc. Being English I'm long accustomed to this kind of behaviour by the British authorities and aware of the movers behind the people trafficking enterprise, the complicity of governments throughout the Western World and the need for unity in the face of this onslaught.
Change that will fundamentally alter the racial and cultural constitution of a nation never was a decision for one individual, one committee or one parliament; it should go to the people.

It does matter to a lot of people where these migrants come from since many of them come from distant parts of the world and bring with them very different values and expectations of how life should be.
