      @Lyin Ted The real climate 'experts' are shit, they can't predict a thing so climate science isn't real science, it's climate guessing (with huge incentives to go with the narrative). First it was global cooling, then global warming, now it's climate change since they don't have a clue what's going on. Pro tip: climate has been changing since day one and they got 0 proof man is causing it.

      @Lyin Ted Btw, end of EU is the best thing possible for europeans. If the unelected leaders in Brussels had their way they would become dictators of the entire EU with an army to crush dissenters, that would be the end of Europe. Germans tried taking Europe 3 times, this time under the banner of the EU and you think they aren't the facists?

    IF YOU INVITE SOMEONE TO AN INTERVIEW LET HIM SPEAK AND DO NOT INTERRUPT!!!!!!!!!!some people never understand how to do an interview!

    • @voidvox
      @voidvox Před 5 lety +3

      YeH, this guy is trying to compete and show he knows something about economics and history with tangents that derail the point Yanis is trying to make,, and then Yanis has to try to politely steer it back on course, but you can see he’s getting a little frustrated here and there. I’m sorry, but he can’t compete, and he should just shut up, or if he has something to say, make it supportive and leading, not oblique tangents.

    • @czbero
      @czbero Před 5 lety +1

      @@firasyassin3445 I disagree. The responsibility of journalists is to conduct interviews on behalf of their target audience. It doesn't matter how well they are themselves informed about the subject; they are only doing their job well when the listener understands. And Yanis of course knows that and appreciates the interruptions as they help him ensure he conveyed his message. If the audience doesn't understand what they're talking about, what's the point of this exercise? He might as well just give a lecture then ...

    • @firasyassin3445
      @firasyassin3445 Před 5 lety +2

      @@czbero sorry, you are wrong...an interviewer should pose a question and let the person talk.....so that the audience can concentrate and listen.....if the idiot always interrupts, then there is no continuity and this is simply very disturbing

  • @jockmoron
    @jockmoron Před 5 lety +6

    I didn't think that the interviewer was too bad. I thought he managed the interview as a discussion, the thing being that the interviewer and interviewee were generally in agreement - that being so you don't get the more adversarial type of discussion. Yanis Varoufakis certainly knows how to talk and he can deal with any interruption perfectly well!! At least the interviewer seemed to have some knowledge of the issues.

    • @welshentag6552
      @welshentag6552 Před 4 lety

      Fair enough, but that is the problem though. It is as though the interviewer has to prove how much he knows on each point. I suspect we might be dealing with a mild behavioural disorder, in all seriousness.

  • @santiagosatori
    @santiagosatori Před 5 lety +2

    Thank you. This was very informative. Folks in the US have very little sense of what is going on in Europe. I hope that we can all get together and solve the problems of the current situation so that we can address the existential threat coming down the road. The climate crisis. If we are unable to repair the economic systems now, there won't be any point later on.

    I wonder how green is the deal of the windmills. I've recently informed my
    self about the toxicity of the materials that are made of.
    Here in Greece we are called to stop
    burning lignite, that we have in abadance, and replace it only just for the 5%of
    our consumption needs for an abseen amount of money to the makers somewhere In Germany.
    So can you please tell me if its
    expensive, inefficient, with equally toxic effects on the environment,
    why the EU encourages it?
    Some people take advantage to make money based on "political correctness". maybe??

    Pas facile de changer l’établissement libéral. La planète est bien petite pour supporter un développement qui a comme valeur première la croissance à tout prix. Si l’humanité souhaite maintenir sa croissance économique et sociale, elle doit s’éloigner des stratégies économico-militaires. Il y a une limite au nombre d’armes que la planète peut supporter. La croissance qui s’appuie sur la recherche et l’exploration spatiale voila l’orientation à privilégier. Kennedy l'avait déjà identifié. Il en a payé le prix.

    Wont investments like these raise inflation?

    • @frequenz5861
      @frequenz5861 Před 5 lety

      @-kapoios kanenas NO! if wages and salaries are higher than national productivity and the inflation rate of the central bank, inflation rises.

    • @andreselectrico
      @andreselectrico Před 3 lety

      Only when income grows slower than prices, or when wages rises faster than national productivity. Having said that, it is healthy to keep in mind that some sectoral inflation may arise, but one thing is moderate or circumstantial inflation (as a result or bottlenecks or increasing demand as a result of increasing economic activity) and another very different one is permanent inflation as a result of permanent low economic activity or productivity frontiers. However, again, inflation should not be real target here. After all, we have been living three decades or more with low inflation and look at the stagnation everywhere.
