"Oh look, it's on fire" It's Rammstein Beth, everything's on fire....
I dont think any other band or group uses as nearly as much pyrotechnics as Rammstein uses as visual effects
Even the fire is on fire đ€đ€đ€đ€
And he didn't got burned. Imagine that James Headfield and Michael Jackson!
@@c0nstantin86 In fact Lindemann has suffered some burns in the past.
@@UmbraWeiss ain't that the truth
Till Lindemann was a professional swimmer in his youth, so he's got a very good breath.
Olympic too
I didn't know that. It is a bit funny that a swimmer became popular with fire

Brenton Alexander Iâm pretty sure he actually attends Rammsteinâs shows
When satan hears rammstein He throws up some metal horns!
no i dont!
Under the bed of Till?
Satan hides under his own bed, Bryan. Maybe we should start a trend of Till Lindemann jokes; like the Chick Norris jokes?
Those wings are more than 50 kilograms (110 lbs). And he still sings on his wonderfully clear voice. Heâs a god!
True
That also impreesed me:

Burning in the sun.. the fireoil on his face... and he sings perfect live
Rammlied or Ich Tuh Dir Weh from the same concert (Madison Square Garden) show off his potential much better: czcams.com/video/Q344Zgh_btE/video.html and czcams.com/video/6TR12QnOAzE/video.html
He just hella steong, look how he is build
I believe he almost paralyzed himself with these wings. There wasn't much padding on the back and the metal was puncturing his back and got very close to his spinal cord.
@@mr.stealyourgirl1104 I've heard he was trained as an olympic swimmer...but maybe I'm wrong. But you are right, he is a unit!
"he is like a fallen angel"- lol he is basically singing: and god knows i don't want to be an angel
God knows I will be an angel soon...
@@sigurgeirfridriksson i think i can translate better as a german than you.
@@sigurgeirfridriksson another German here. The entire song's content is based on the main character not wanting to become an angel. Lot more to tell but that's the main thing.

Till Lindermann is also a licensed pyrotechnician. Give him a venue where city codes will allow him to go all out and you'll have one helluva fireshow............
He doesn't do it himself anymore after a flaming curtain fell down on an audience once.
@@FlorianBased Actually, he decided to become a trained pyrotechnician after that event, he said he wanted to make sure everything ran perfectly himself.
The shows they do in Russia are crazy. Fire marshals in the US don't play that shit lol
Here in Germany the word was, if you want to truly see Ramstein, watch them on gigs in eastern Europe. Less regulations.
I saw them at MK last year, I couldn't have been further away from the stage but still had my eyelashes singed
Till this day, I haven't seen anyone NOT impressed with Rammstein's onstage performance or with Till's voice :P
I showed my dad the video for Engel live and at first he was like "What in the hell is this?" then he was like "That was pretty cool."
Way back when this song first came out, I probably listened to it 20 times in a row.
I remember I was a kid, it just came out on a Bravo magazine CD, I was about 5 or 6 years old I believe and I was absolutely mesmerized with it, listened to it until I became nauseated and dizzy
@@lexxlexx9710 and then there's me, who just discovered this type of music and is now listening to all songs 24/7 đ
That 'angel wing' rig Till was wearing weighed 112lb and was apparently quite painful. But it did look super cool.
He still wear it at concerts.. đ€
The weight is only one side of the problem. The moment that is created by having it going out so far makes it that much more difficult.
Till used to drill a hole in his cheek to have a 80+ degree Celsius lamp mounted in his throat. And he used to bash microphones against his forehead untol they were broken. He is one tough Dude.
The wings have a cameo in the Deutschland video
No wonder the man is gigantic...
This contrast between Beth's cuteness and Rammstein's gothicness is lit.
Since when are they gothic?
@@andreizamfirescu3376 Always. In Germany they started their career in the Industrial-Gothic scene. The first time I have seen them they were the support of Project Pitchfork.
@@andreizamfirescu3376 they have much of Gothic in their songs. Listen to Heirate Mich as example

@rgtrooper13 I don't think so, but maybe if Beth would appear in a Rammstein video, that could be art.

As a German.... Like.... Anything really...
I'm with you xD I'm also german and was like welp...sounds normal to me aye?
Just imagine being a dutch and then hearing our german language. Of course its kinda harsh.
I think German sounds somewhat harsh as long as the person doesn't speak it. It starts sounding rather melodic as you learn it.
German, is a passionate language.
German sounds like the language of the God of War.
Aww, I wish you had taken another song like 'Rosenrot' or 'Ohne Dich' showing off his vocal range more...
Ohne Dich is the best love song in the world.
i kept thinking of 'Ohne Dich' as well.
Glad i'm not the only one.
Honestly, this song is one of his flatter ones - he has others with MUCH more range
I forgot "Keine Lust' which shows his capabilities very well as well
Yeah this definately isnt the song i'd have picked to show off his vocals ...

Im from Germany and he is rolling the R in a very extreme way. You did that maybe like 70+ years ago in some regions in Germany
Fynn Gattermann Yeah, heâs exaggerating his Rs for more impact...
I'm actually learning German (funny enough, because of Rammstein) and from what I've heard, the rolled "r"s are still occasionally used in dramatic stage shows to add a little something to the performance.
don't some austrians do that?
Exagera la R porque le da un toque sexy, es muy grr eso đ depende claro como pero a Ă©l le resulta de maravillas
Zarah Leander did that too in a rather profound way.
OFC his wings are on fire.. :D Till Lindemann is in fact a trained pyrotechnician
Rammstein do have the most beautiful stage performances ..
When you're in the audience at a Rammstein concert, you can feel all the flames. And let me tell you, they are SUPER hot.
I can't imagine how extreme it must be on stage, right next to the flame-throwers.
As for german: we can sound quite nice...sometimes :P
Right in front of the stage it's quite luxurious, because of the liquid gas they use to cool down the audience ;)
I was at a Kiss concert in June and the flames were hot, now imagine Rammstein where they use loads more fire
@@PreciselyTuned sweating ppl all around you, not really sexy but I would do it again and again :D
I was at first row of last year's tour. Was sweating until flames burst. They dried off the sweat of my face.
Agreed, standing in the crowd at a Rammstein show is incredibly hot! In addition the stage is already very hot without any pyro because of all the lighting, so adding these together, well fcuk
Till Lindemann, their lead singer, learned to sing classical opera. He has an extraordinary vocal range, just like David Draiman of Disturbed...listen to "Seemann" from one of the earlier Rammstein Albums.
This song got covered by Nina Hagen, Actress, Opern singer and the introducer of Punk in Germany, as a kind of compliment to Till and his band. Rammstein usually doesn't like to get their songs covered, for Nina, due to the mutual respect, they made an exception.
there are tons of bands that official covered rammstein now there is even an Death Metal Cover of the song "Weisses Fleisch" on the Album "Back in Blood" from Debauchery
They made it together, she may have sung it alone, but she is on the albumversion...
He learned to sing opera??? I never heard of that
@@simonnoorloosvan1514 the song got written and performed 1994, it's named "komm in mein Boot" on their first demo cassette. First released 1995 on Herzeleid, 1996 as single EP. Nina Hagen covered it 2005 together with Apocalyptica.
@@mrn234 you say it. Now. I consider the time before the "Reise, Reise" Album. Cooperations with other artists are plenty, but bare covers with the blessings of the band were a commodity.
Till has an amazing yet underrated voice.
I've been wanting to see more vocal coach reactions like this.
I was lucky enough to see Rammstein live in Denmark last year. It was incredible! I'm so thankful that I got to experience that! You feel so powerful listening to Till sing!
"It must be hot. "
You have no idea! I saw them in Madison Square Garden. I was one level up from the floor, at the back of the theater, and when they had the pyrotechnics flare out, it was hot even for me. I was a good 80m away, maybe more.
Come on i know that i wont ser Rammstein ever live but you were at madason sqaure thats unfairđ
I remember that show. I was in the second tier, opposite the stage, so even further than you, and during Benzin the heat was massive.
@@der_zarix3581 I know xD
I've seen them 3 times in the US. Every time we could feel the heat from the pyro and we were in the nosebleed section. I've heard that in their old shows before laws around pyro were more strict fans said the steel rafters in arenas would be red hot from repeated pyro on stage.

It's been almost 30 years and you can see how much they still enjoy performing, I love it.
Flames shooting out of everywhere, and the band is like, "Just another Tuesday night...". Love Rammstein. đ
That's what happens when the singer is also a pyrotechnician lol.
I think the entire band are licensed to do that.
@@TheCrazyCanuck420 it's only Till Lindemann AFAIK.
He got his pyrotechnician liscense after stuff burned down on stage and he got constantly burned. So they can do the pyrotechnics safer :D... that is dedication. I think there is no bad like Rammstein. They are more than just awesome music. They make art on so many levels. Lyrical, visual (live performance, stage, pyro etc.), incredible music videos, amazing music. Plus they had the same lineup for like 3 decades now.

It seems like he sang Engel as the finale to the concert... he seemed like he was pretty exhausted at that point. You really should listen and react to Ohne Dich, and
Mein Herz Brennt Piano Version; those two song express how excellent his singing voice really is IMO
czcams.com/video/Dv6Th7kJ64Q/video.html
Yes Engel was the final song for each show on this tour. So he had done a full 2 hour set prior to this track.

I have to point out Lorenz's 20 second solo on the synth from 4:52 to 5:12 , it's a perfect 5 second cycle but he puts so much motion and energy into along with the drums adding to the beat, along with the theme of the stage just makes it a perfect performance
Till started singing and I immediately got goosebumps. Saw Rammstein last year Love for the first time and i will Never forget it since it was one of the best days of my life
"It must be hot." - Yeah, I think by now bathing in fire is like bathing in water for him as they always have so much fire on the stage

@@ToolofSociety well their budget for pyrotechnics increased quite a bit in the last years
He used to be an Olympic swimmer so he would know what water is like. :-)
But yes, I think he's a certified pyrotechnical himself.
In early years he actually 'set himself on fire', so this is all child's play for him.
@@minzwaffel337 I just realized the last time I saw them was over 14 years ago.
The first time I saw them was in 98 and they had pyrotechnics galore. Thought for sure something was going to catch fire that wasn't planned. It's a testament to their skills and discipline that they have been doing this for decades without a major injury.
I discovered them via the lost highway soundtrack :)
For sure, there's a song, I forget which one where he wears a chainmail coat that they set on fire.
Who voted for this to show him of as a vocalist? So many brilliant songs showing his actual vocal skills and people voted this?!
Probably people who thought any other song by them would scare her away.... But.... Like, It's Rammstein.. pure musical art. (And visual, both live in shows and in music videos..) The intention of metal is not for shock value or to frighten.. It's to portray emotion in a powerful way. But I can understand the reasoning by seeing, myself, how others react to metal in such a way that to them the planet has nothing more evil or frightening to behold... This woman clearly lives life with open eyes (and ears). I agree that there are far better examples. And too many to list right here.

Thats a really good point about drummer vocalists. Never thought of that. You can hear a similar thing in some of Johnathan Davis' (Korn) earlier songs

Great video!
You mentioned that you thought German was a harsh language. I used to think so too but since Iâve started studying more German poetry and classical music (because I am an opera singer) and what Iâve noticed is the consonants clusters and glottal fricatives can actually be extremely beautiful.
Where as in French or Italian singing the language really suits a very smooth singing of the language, German allows you to really chew each word and get every last drop out out the meaning of the lyrics youâre singing.
Would love to hear what people think of this!
I'd think English would also sound harsh to people who don't speak English.
think about ode to joy in German beautiful!
I saw them live in Montreal, to this date. It was the best concert I have seen to date. They put on such an incredible performance. They were planned to be part of an outdoors concert this year before the pandemic. It would of been insane what all they couldve done with pyrotechnics and everything else being outdoors.
I once had a German guy recite lovely poetry to me in a harsh, menacing tone. Quite entertaining.
PS. One of the best bands on the planet, especially live.
9 years i have loved this band and it is a crime i still haven't seen them live. this is on my bucketlist way high above everything else. Till is a fantastic human being and an amazing vocalist.

Huh.... Kiss?
Till even got a degree in pyrotechnics to be more informed about the useage and to be legally allowed to use the gadgets and all that.

You would be right that his singing is untrained. He kind of learned through his own experience, but his deep almost baritone voice sets him apart from most singers. His rythmic breathing probably comes from his experience as a swimmer. He is an interesting fellow to say the least.
Almost baritone? I would say I almost bass
@@hectorvegasduque2234 he's a baritone. That bass note he's constantly hitting is a D2. If he was a bass, he'd probably go even lower to sound even cooler and kinda creepier
I read somewhere that his pyrotechnic wings weigh about 50 kilos. I don't know if this is true, but it would explain his somewhat heavy step at the beginning and the slightly bent forward position.
Saw them back in like 01 or 02 and they opened up with âRammsteinâ. During the whole song he wore this full length cloak with a hood. At some point during the song the cloak was on fire when he was singing. It was great. Their whole show was fire everywhere. He shot this bow and arrow that was also on fire.
Itâs so cool to see you enjoying Rammstein, one of my favorite bands
Till isnât only a singer, he is a legendary artist in music industry.
I've always loved Tills operatic vocals he's pretty much my favorite next to Kirk Windstein from Crowbar. I think German as a language doesn't get all the love it deserves, it's always about French and Italian here in Europe. I just think it's so much more clean than either of those languages, it's very clear and melodic in its' own way. Though, I'm saying that as a Swede, so maybe I'm biased. I can find a lot of similarities between my own language and German in what words are used and how things are pronounced.

Gunn Rita Dyreng Same :)
Itâs always so nice to see someone whoâs never seen them perform just glow in awe.
You should hear him live. When you're there in the audience the vibrations of Till's voice are out of this world!
I really can't help but think, you really miss an opportunity with some bands Beth. So many times I've seen the youtube notification , and just thought oh yes, how awesome your reacting to 'X'. Then I see the song and just sink, so many better songs that could be chosen, and it happens time after time.
Anyway, glad you took a look at Rammstein. I wish it had been a song that shows his range and the bands musical ability better, something like Mein Herz Brennt, Feuer frei!, Mutter or Du Hast.
so much whining i guess it's time to make your own channel dude
@@gc8972b sorry for having an opinion, explaining my point and giving examples of songs that would have been better options. Makes me a terrible person hey dude......
Unbelievable, I've been following this channel for years and this is the first time I've not left a glowing endorsement of Beth and her review and some snow flake has a go at me. Seriously re read my comment and think about what I've written.
@@travisbunce7334 haha funny you calling me snowflake đ you`re not a terrible person, just a whining youtube user. that was actually a suggestion, so you do your stuff, the way you think it should be, and not feel that frustrated with other people`s efforts. have a good life, peace
Need to react to Wintersun! Any of the live studio recordings from Sonic Pump Studios ;)
As i remember she already did :D
@@666DeadDeath I thought she had too, but then I went searching for Wintersun, Time, Sons of Winter and Stars, and also Sonic Pump, and nothing came up.
So yeah, Beth, we would like you to do some Wintersun!
Eeee, one of my favourite bands. If you ever get the chance to see them live you must go and see them, the whole show and the pyrotechnics are freaking amazing. It's an experience.
Beth soooooooo glad you did a break down of Rammstein. Love your channel :)
5:27 "It must be hot" well it is magnesium flash powder, so just a bit
"When the people go to sleep
You can see us in heaven
We have angst and are (all) alone
God knows I don't want to be an angel"
Only when the clouds go to sleep
(Erst wenn die Wolken schlafen gehen)
Thats the correct translation of the First sentence.
And Angst = afraid
I've seen them live once and it was absolutely nuts. So much fire
I'm from Germany and 16 years old I listen to Rammstein for the last idk 8 years and when I listen to Rammstein I feel it and love it but her reaction is awesome đđđ» never seen reactions like this.
I wish I had a voice like Till Lindemann...
"that's sooo coooll" it's like i hear a little girl haha
