The Truth About The Tarkine

  • ‘Sustainable’ logging is erasing Australia's last temperate rainforests.
The Tarkine rainforest in Tasmania is one of the last remaining truly wild place on Earth, and we've a chance to save it, not just for its own sake, but for our entire civilisation.
[This film was shot before the pandemic - it still takes a long time to gather funding for films about climate and nature - hopefully this will be different in the future!]

And remember that, on average, the most effective lifestyle change you can make to protect global wild spaces is to eat fewer animal products, particularly beef 🐄, since creating them takes up so much more land than plant-based foods.
Also, be sure to only ever vote for political parties that appreciate that we are on track for climate and ecological collapse 🐝, and that treating the present as anything less than the greatest emergency we've ever been in is a deep misunderstanding of the science.

Hi Matt, as I was doing some original research for my channel, I ran across your wonderful video. Scott and I have only just moved to this majestic place and were amazed that the Tarkine is in our backyard. We are shocked by the ongoing climate crisis and often feel helpless, as I am sure that so many others do. This video helped me to understand this region more. Thank you. I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for making me more aware of the Bob Brown foundation and the threat to our beautiful Tarkine. As I grow my channel, I hope to help my viewers become aware, as you have. Thanks, Matt! - Robin Bird.

Gorgeous place. It just amazes me that corporate interests rule. I'm in BC Canada, and am sick to death of the destruction of these old forests.
