sorry the video cut short some sort of error.
After dpf cleaning the soot loading dropped and I was able to clear the fault. Once power returned I noticed it had a boost leak from a loose intercooler hose so that was the cause of the dpf blockage.

I had endless DPF problems with my Porsche Macan 3 litre diesel, often went into limp home mode, many visits to the dealer to clear it. Finally I started to use only premium diesel (mainly Esso) and the problems went away. I have now done 103,000 miles, the last 50,000 without problem since changing to expensive diesel.
The higher grade fuel gets better mpg partly due to higher combustion temperatures, so the dpf is going to be fed slightly higher temp gases which probably just pushes it over the threshold of being able to regenerate effectively. Driving style will also be a factor.
There should be legislation to make it illegal to lock diagnostic functions. For 2 reasons one, it's unfair businesses practise, and second it fights against vehicles running ccorrectly and cleanly
Yeah but people should be more clued up about what they buy. I've just got a merc but I also knew I could get hold of pirate copy of Xentry so nothing is locked off.
@@1000sofusernames So you're saying all independent workshops should have a pirate copy of all makes software, don't be a dick
There is…….in the EU but seeing as how you’ve left the EU, manufacturers are taking advantage. You made your bed, now lie in it.
There are some good devices from China these days. You can get the full access for basically an vehicle brand for around 200 USD or less. The software isn't exactly legal but the hardware works well (for me at least).
Like an episode of EastEnders left us on a cliffhanger 😂
So buy a Porsche V8 diesel for the school run then take it to Halfords to get it fixed? What has gone wrong in society 😂😂
Hard to comment as don’t know the circumstances, but champagne lifestyle lemonade budget comes to mind……maybe…….
@davyarthurs totally agree with you!
Definitely a Chelsea Tractor there.
Don't run what you can't afford. Porsche to Halfords! lol
That pig needs a good 4hr hard motorway run every so often to keep the dpf clean......keep her lit!!
owns a Porsche and tries to get Halfords to fix it 🤷♀
I wouldn't trust anybody at Halfords to put a new tyre on a wheelbarrow !!
Fur coat no knickers
😂😂
Jimmy you need to get yourself an OSCA tool. They dial in remotely and have access to all main dealer (and then some) softwares. They can do resets and even regens remotely. Its my last option, but if the customer wants it done then another £80 or so won't matter to them.
Flash car but takes it to Halfords?
Then to some roadside mobile mechanic 😂
Champagne taste lemonade money.
Can’t wait for part b of the video
If you can still drive, take it for a 50klm run in 4th gear, the auto cleaning might kick in and reduce the dpf readings
Probs runs around with only gallon of diesel in the tank, no chance of doing regen as you need a quarter of a tank at least.
my launch919 has changed loads since the latest up date from launch.
I see that Watch Wes Work is using the Launch diagnostic box too.
Thanks Jimmy keep up with your great work 👌
Thanks, will do!
4 Ltrs to do the school run
Are you still diluting the cleaning fluid with water? Also, have you tried the Liqui Moly 20112 DPF Filter purge and if so is it comparable to the Laucnch UK cleaning fluid? Both are applied with the gun. Here in Aus, it is hard to get either product.
Yes I dilute it. I've not used liqui moly
@@ORileysAutos Thanks for the reply. I will do the same with the Liqui Moly and see how it goes. I guess the same amount of product will be going through the system regardless. Keep the videos coming, loving them 🙂
Hi jimmy, where can I get the cone for the end of the DPF tool?
Is there another part of this video to come Jimmy ?
Jimmy where is part two?
Not sure what happened as I did upload a full video but now I've deleted the copy as I'm short of storage
@@ORileysAutos so at least tell us how you sorted out resetting soot load
@JustMe-Dude once the dpf was clean the soot load numbers dropped automatically and the code reset and all good. Also when power returned I heard a boost leak and turned out to be a loos boost hose clamp
They are trying to put people like Jimmy out of work
that car is just a status symbol for the wife to take the kids to school if that's how it is being used
Are we to expect a Part 2? Or was this another case that only dealer software can solve?
Sorry I did solve it but didn't realise the video cut short
@@ORileysAutos It took me back to my younger days of Saturday morning cinema when the film always ended on a 'cliff hanger' with to be continued on the screen!! If you don't know ask your parents or grand parents!!!
lol
@@ORileysAutos Great. Thanks!
@@malcolm6951 Yep, I know 🙂
Hi Jimmy I have a 3.0 V6 diesel Porsche Cayenne and it’s in limp mode. I have done a full DPF clean and it’s down to 5 hpa. How do I clear the limp mode ? I have a icarsoft V2 OBD scan tool.
Are we going to get a part 2 to this?
Oh sorry I didn't realise something happened to the end of the video! Hopefully I can find the rest
Cliff hanger what the hell happened to Porsche DPF’s ?
what happened to the full video?
Not sure I'll try to find it and re upload
@@ORileysAutos thx Jim
Who buys a Porche and takes it to Halfords To get it fixed?
Cayenne 'peppered' with problems.
The only problem is it's muppet owner.
Ka booom 😂
Why buy a diesel porsche? 90% VW then why not buy the only thing that makes it unique?
It's a audi Q7
So the VCDS software should work?
Yes & VW toureg. All the same underneath
