Target ROAS is the best bidding strategy in Google Ads, without exception! Here is how to actually use it for your campaigns.
In the vast majority of cases it should be used if you're tracking revenue or multiple high value conversion points for lead gen campaigns.

This was helpful! Thank you!
Hey Darren, great video! I have a question. Does ROAS necessarily need different types of conversion points (a call button AND a form, for example) or it still works if I have only one? Assuming of course that I track every conversion from that CTA, informing Google who purchased my product and who didn't.
Hi Darren,
Great video.
Questions:
- How many conversions do you recommend on a standard shopping campaign before switching from a manual bid strategy to tROAS?
- With tROAS, do you recommend a portfolio bid strategy with a max bid cap to avoid super high cost per click?
- How long a period to you give the campaign before further increasing tROAS?
Many thanks in advance.
I would say as long as you get at least 1 per day, you're good. But I've seen campaigns work well with it with less.
Don't set a cap with portfolio until the data tells you it's justified.
Give any new strategy a month to test!
Thank you for your informations! I am very new to the game and not able to select target ROAS as bid strategy. Do you know when I am able to chose it?? Thanks Darren! 😊
Thank you so much 👍, please make a video if we set TROAS at 70% only ......it is confusing as Google recommend to change it to 70% from 130%
Thank you ao much Darren, awesome content!
One question: how would you price the conversion value of a lead? Given that the client measures lead as a conversion. Tnx again
It just needs to be a benchmark. So say you have a contact form submission and a brochure download, with the download being the least important, you could set the download as a value of $200 and the contact form a value of $500. It's just a number chosen to give Google optimisation opportunity
@@darrentaylordigital thanks!
