    I struggle with this advice. I run a lot of chiropractic campaigns with small budgets (not even $100/day) and have tried using both automated bidding along with looser match types, and the only thing I've noticed is Google spends more budget on non-relevant keywords (competitor terms) for example. Have you had success with this strategy in the chiropractic niche with smaller budgets?
    I love your content by the way

      I must admit I wrote my previous comment before finishing all of the video. All of our conversions are driven by a handful of terms. Testing out max click is an interesting strategy that I will try

      No worries! Yea if your conversions are coming from just a few terms then smart bidding is not great, stick with max clicks or target impression share on terms known to convert

    What do you think the threshold should be for creating an ad group in terms of traffic volume or number of keywords in a smart campaign? Also, you were saying that if an ad group doesn't get enough traffic that automated bidding wouldn't be as effective due to having less data to draw from. Is an ad group's learning siloed and not taking cues at the campaign level?

    On new campaigns. Do you go for multi keyword ad groups and smart bidding on broad match and optimize for conversions? OR do you stick with a more traditional approach like SKAGs until the campaign has enough conversion data to switch?

    • @Comrade1803
      @Comrade1803 Před 6 dny

      i would go for a multi keyword ad group, phrase match and exact match, maximise clicks. Then when there is enough conversion data to switch, i would switch to maximise conversions, keep phrase and exact match. Thats just my opinion. What did you end up doing?

    He is right. I sincerely do not think manual CPC will even be around in 2024. This is the same with Meta: I don't see many buyers using bid or cost cap options. Completely agree Google uses predictability based on user behavior.

    • @darrentaylordigital
      @darrentaylordigital  Před 8 měsíci +4

      You're right. Google will eventually get rid of manual CPC, they may even get rid of keyword match types long term. If advertisers don't test automation, they will be lost when they are forced to use it

    Interesting.. I have an account with about 65 conversions running max conversions.. the price is about $300 per lead with a 35% conversion rate... If i set google CPA at around $250 will it bring down the lead cost? OR would be running max CPC at like $50 be a better option?

      Set it in line with current performance first. Let it come out of learning and hit the target. Then start to test a CPA target decrease in small increments

    We are shifting from manual to smart bidding for our other campaign, but we also have a PMAX campaign for about a year, that is cracking (doing awesome). Do recommend 1 PMAX and 1 Smart bidding campaign?

    • @darrentaylordigital

      I would advise you segment into as many campaigns as needed. So say you have a business that serves both consumer and commercial, you'd still likely want to create a campaign for each keyword type

      @@darrentaylordigital Thank you so much. Just one last question. What is the timeframe you start to see things take off with smart bidding.
