    Geonosians are kind of up in the air, because Lucasfilm has hinted that even after the Darth Vader comic they might still be around...BUT yeah, they're worse off than the Lasat most likely haha. The Rakata had a small surviving group in the Unknown Regions, and pureblood Sith were found as late as forty years after the Battle of Yavin. Again, they were about as well off as the Lasat, so I should have mentioned them as well. This topic was kind of weird and vague to cover haha. In hindsight I should have done the extinct and endangered species.

      @@results3325 The Republic gave the order. But the jedi instead of refusing it they followed the order. So the Jedi CLAIM they're peacekeepers but they aren't. Infact if the Jedi and the Republic left the Sith alone after The Hyperspace War all of the other era's (The Old Republic, the mando wars, clone wars etc) would of (possibly) never happened.

    Wouldn't the Geonosians be considered extinct? They too were another species wiped out by the Empire. Plus, the Rakata are listed as extinct as well.

      As far as most of the galaxy is concerned the rakata are but some still live in an area of the Unknown Regions called the rakata archipelago

      we still dont know about Geonosians but Pablo did say that its likely that there are more survivors in the catacombs of the planet and the Rakata were extinct in Legends but in canon they are still alive (some of them made appearances in the background of several comics)

    Ok. I wish The Sith Species were Canon same with The Rakata. They were two of my favorite species from Legends. I loved them that much that one of my main characters on SWTOR is a Sith Pureblood.

      Well most of them were dead a rather long time back in history, and I doubt their lifespan would allow for even one to survive very much longer... Safe to say they died off in the Old Republic Era, or at best continued on as a "half breed" derivative species at best (if you want to believe in that possibility)

    I think you missed the Mahran from Dark Disciple. It's the race of Akar-Deshu, or Desh, Quinlan Vos' best friend in the Jedi temple. The Separatists were given orders that all Mahran on Mahranee were to be considered extremely hostile and killed on sight. According to the book, the world and its people had fallen in the space of a few hours. And by the end of the book, even Desh is dead, marking the extinction of the species (as far as we're aware).

    You forgot the Theelin
    , in the final years of the republic (clone wars era) they underwent a series of mutations (the cause of which is unknown) that left them unable to reproduce with members of their own species, they tried to hybridize with other species like Humans to mediate this, but they still went extinct by 10ABY (at least in legends)

      I wonder if that could have been a secret bio-warfare experiment or the effects of a virus that naturally inserted whatever gene or genes were responsible, because a mutation like that occurring and spreading is normally just not going to happen.

    The Yevethans from Legends are also extinct. Other races told the Yuuzhan Vong about the Yevethans and how savage they were so the Yuuzhan Vong opted to wipe them out before they could attack them and they succeeded.

    I thought in Rebels, they "learned" that the Lasat species actually ORIGINATED from that hidden planet (which was full of them being the original homeworld). And that the known planet that was wiped out, was just a colony. So unless we learned the Empire found that hidden planet and blew it up, they're probably just fine (as a species)

      The Zillo beast was looking pretty PISSED at Palpatine when it heard what he wanted done to it.
      I think everyone is underestimating how "sentient," it was.
      (Plus, not all the species he listed here were a sentient, the Zillo beast being more so than a few that were included.)

      Yeah, that's one of the few creative decisions of the new canon I disagree with. Barring the fact that the Clone Wars episode where it happened was kinda vague on the destruction of the entire species, it really shuts down a lot of really interesting story possibilities that could be had with the Witches of Dathomir.

      No they had some remnants. Maybe thought them extinct however. The Sorcerers of Tund are one example, however they did get taken out during the Imperial Era.

Yes, yes it is, if there is no trace of any continuum that it can only be presumed as extinct, but it doesn't matter now, it's all been scrapped now.

    hey alex have you ever thought about doing a Clone Wars review? Not every episode but something like HelloGreedo is doing where its important arcs throught the show; you could also talk about potential impacts to the galaxy/war at the time and even some of the foreshadowing and lore covered in the show. I would love to see a series along those lines. Thanks for all the content and keep up the great work!!!!

      Well, a large number of them actually fled to a part of the Unknown Regions known as the Rakata Archipelago, and two factions within it managed to rebuild their ancient technology, even a smaller version of the Star Forge

    This is a great video, Alex. But you made a little mistake there, The Iokath species, for which we unfortunately have no name as of now, didn't design weapons for the Eternal Empire, although the Eternal Empire did used the Fleet which had been designed by that species, but Emperor Valkorion merely found it.

      I believe that the Eternal Empire did find and convert some of the Iokath weapons for their own use.

      @@amberkat8147 nope, Iokath is only found again during the events of Knights of the Eternal Throne. And while the Eternal Alliance and whatever faction you end up cooking to ally with during War for Iokath do end up taking the planet's technology and studying so they can make weapons, a new walker specifically, by then the Eternal Empire is no more and has been conquered by the Alliance. So once again, they did not develop weapons for the Eternal Empire.

      Well, I think when the spices you kill literally has "Demon" in it's title... you get a pass. I mean you kill one little Demon and it's counted as genocide because it's the last one and they're now extinct. Most people would say "good riddance".

    you know i see these mentioned a lot because theyre never explicitly stated to hae died out but are so rare their extinction is highly likely by the time of the movies, the rakata, esh-kha, dashade, and pureblood sith could all be on this list. arguably since the massassi were included the flesh raiders also belong here, being offshoots of the rakata, and the evocii belong here, being the original inhabitants of nal hutta who were displaced to nar shadda by the hutts and slowly died out due to extremely poor living conditions. they were considered extinct by the clone wars, but actually went extinct during the yuuzhan vong war

    There was some Sith found in 41 ABY I think they went though some kind of space-thingy during the Hyperspace Wars. They had loads of Massassi in stasis too.
