I have an old SLK convertible from 2004, and I, going to have to build a custom box so I can fit the subwoofer in that small little upper area

It looks like this. What my plan is to have a down fire enclosure that goes to the farthest part of the 2 little things on the left and right (about 10.5 inches). Then I’m going to have the box 30 inches wide and raised 2.5 inches off the ground. That leaves 4.5 inches in height for the box.

Mine has got the bose system with the subs behind the seat.
I've been playing around with 12 and a 8 incher in the boot, and actually considering to just leave out the big sub in the boot.
With a good radio boosting at 60hz, the stock subs actually do ok.
How did you secure the box in place?
All I used was a bit of 3m dual lock Velcro on the bottom of the box, and the trunk mat, it has never moved.
I guess I know what I’m doing in the morning

Where did you ground your amp?
Right to the trunk floor, the ground wire is all of 4 inches long, out the amp to the floor.
Does the sub box fit in any mazda mx-5

How does it sound from the inside?
Honestly, it sounds great, I was pretty surprised at how good it sounded even with the soft top, I figured it would deaden out the sound some.

I’m not saying it’s perfect, the rear tail light panel on the miata is prone to noise just based on how it’s attached, but it definitely helped the trunk lid from having excessive rattle.
Someone needs to shave that scrappy beard!

No one mentioned why didn’t you guys just tape the the rca and remote wire to your metal coat hangar and pull them thru the carpet in one go ? 😂 that was so unnecessary
