    CAPT "SGT" Peterson-
15 years of service in the global war on terror.
We take dozens of Disabled Veterans fishing.
We believe in challenging the status quo by doing things differently. That is why we lived on Dog Island, FL (Boat access only) with our 5 kids for over a year. We inspire continuous improvement through camaraderie while living a waterfull life.
Capt. SGT Peterson's proven process for fishing has been applied both locally and internationally for 19+ years to catch the most, and the biggest fish. These techniques have been honed since 1990, whence he began guiding family and friends at the age of 10 on his 14ft Lund aluminum fishing boat that was passed down to him by his grandfather. Just like his grandfather Capt. SGT Peterson guarantees you will catch fish,

    Captain Peterson,
I loved your video. My daughter and I caught the biggest Cobia in SC one year, at 71lbs. She was only 8 at the time, and the fish was bigger than her. We lured it off a buoy and hooked it within just a few feet off the boat with a live mullet. The fight was an hour, and we had to wrestle it into the the embedded ice chest before it completely tore up the boat with its thrashing. I think it is my favorite tasting fish also. We ate it for weeks- grilled, sashimi, and ceviche. Thank you.
    Best,
    Michael

It depends if it's wild caught or farm raised. Most people eat farm raised tilapia, which is where the bad rep comes from because they basically survive on a diet of their own poop.

I'm sorry any video that promotes the eating of makeral is nuts. The Kings are just as bad. I caddied in the Hamptons, had many members jump on their private and meet their captain. They usually leave for a huge Billfish tourney and the captain and mates will drive the boat down and catch fish the entire way. My regular guy has a captain with one first mate year round and the captain's wife is the stew/cook. I'm very lucky the boss allowed me to be an angler in a tournament to Costa Rica. Until that weekend I had no idea how much cash was involved in those big tournaments. I asked the boss if I could travel the entire route with the captain and crew. He and I have become great friends as his wife is besties with my G/F. My boss heads down to the East Coast for the winter where he has a slightly (I laugh slightly 86' boat) that is truly designed for fishing. No fighting chair, the accommodations other than the deck, engine, fishing area and when walking in the "living room" & bar. Downstairs there is one bedroom that's really nice. The other two have bunk beds and there is a bathroom upstairs and down. The kitchen is hidden and really nice not like his other fishing boat, 108' Billfish fighting boat that captain, wife mate and a guest will stay on. The boss will only use this for fishing and sleeps only if in a tournament. He has a yacht with a different captain and a crew of 8. He always says he'd rather be folding with me caddying or chasing Billfish in Mexico with my Captain buddy Andy, his wife Althea & first mate "lefty" who lost two fingers in a fishing disaster. He goes on Yacht with wife for 3-6 weeks with her couple friends. She also does two trips on Yacht one with her G/F's and one with her (3 sons) Daughter in laws. My boss takes 3 son in laws, myself, Captain Andy, Lefty for fun, doesn't golf. his pro from Hampton's and if his pro from course in South can get off or he takes his pro from another course he belongs too. That pro was/is one of the top 5 PGA Pro golfers in his day. He brings along two former assistants his caddie from that club and always leaves a spot for the pro at the course where being hosted at our the Caddie Master. He knows them all as we do England, Ireland, Scotland every year and than Australia every other year. (Seriously some of the best golf in the world. I am a 3 Andy 4) Sorry I got Waaaaaaaaaaaay Off track of a King or Spanish Mackerel every makes it on board where all fired and replaced. Our boss has eaten it twice and has serious sickness. No the fish wasn't old, I literally caught a King and was on grill within 15 minutes. I personally wouldn't eat one or Bluefish before that. I remember some ass made a makeral dip one night. I was having a great time with girl from Ireland when I ended up getting sick. I never got to chill with the girl again. (BTW her Dad is one of if not the Richest men in all of Ireland and is only able to live in Ireland for like 80 days per year) you figure him out, Google his daughter. I had it on lock and she and I still friends and told me I blew it that night as her and Dad thought I got sick from being drunk.

Mercury is in nature. The big issue is that mercury binds up selenium, and that selenium is essential for brain health. Take selenium as a supplement, and make sure it is in excess in your body, and the normal levels of mercury that we find in fish and food can be balanced out. Some diets might be low in selenium, and then mercury in any form could be a health issue.

    Leviticus 11:9-12 KJV
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. [10] And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: [11] They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. [12] Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

I am an Alaskan, as far as Salmon go people in the lower 48 will often see "Wild Caught Alaska Keta Salmon" in their supermarket, I advise against it. "Keta" is the scientific name, their common name is either Chum or Dog Salmon (fun fact, all 5 species of Salmon have two common names), and that is because they are typically used as food for dogs or as chum bait and not human consumption in Alaska, with very few exceptions.
Also what didn't make your list but I prefer over Halibut by a long shot is Rockfish, specifically Yellow Eye Rockfish, they are in similar areas and hit on similar bait so you can target them at the same time, we have had two people on the same 24' boat hooked up to a rockfish and halibut at the same time using similar set-ups. Rockfish just have better flavor to me but can be used anyway you cook a halibut basically.

@@CaptPeterson Native Alaskans out in western Alaska eat them, especially the summer run but not as much for the fall run. That said they count against your limit just the same as all the others, except King/Chinook that are more restricted, but just are not as good, I have eaten it fresh and have no need to again as it is much mushier and less flavorful. Pink/Humpy is fine fresh but is still lacking the salmon flavor of the others, and while it is fairly good texture fresh it does not freeze well but is ok canned as you do not expect to retain texture, they are also the smallest. That said the Pinks are a great fight on light weight tackle, are easy to find, and by far the most aggressive, I would opt for a rooster tail to catch them. We often do catch and release with them, retaining one for dinner, when we are out as they are a lot of fun to catch.

In the 70s my dad was a regular at the Okaloosa Island pier. He caught many many king mackerel. We ate it quite often. He would dredge it in seasoned flour and cornmeal and deep fry it and it was delicious that way. We probably got a lifetimes worth of mercury but as far as I know we didn't suffer any ill effects.
