- Here's the quick, fun story of the now defunct city of Ephesus. Make sure you stick around for the poop part. The poop part makes it.
Also, there's a subreddit now. It's r/thetenminutebiblehour

Matt, first thank you so much for your work on this channel. It has helped so much in Bible classes. We are currently studying through the Book of Acts and using this as one of our resources to better understand the book. So with that said and also I love you, You need to finish Acts. When we started you were 16 chapters ahead and now you are two chapters ahead. Please dont take this message the wrong way, the only reason I'm sending this is because your vids are so good. Its like waiting for the Mcribb but every week that turn into months.
Thanks Magan. My list of excuses for slowing down are very legitimate, but not good comment section material :) That said, I'm about to publish a new episode and officially come out of this slow down period. Look for a new one in the next couple of days and then steady stuff through the home stretch. Thanks for liking my stuff and for being patient with me while I've had some life stuff going on.
Totally understand! (Really 3 kids 2 1/2 and under). Again your material is so good, I wouldn't have sent the message otherwise.
The Ten Minute Bible Hour pp
"Cooler heads prevail."
Walt's frozen head.
*slow clap" well done, sir.
Darrell and Connie Ephesus? You crack me up, Matt! Keep up the good work.😂😂
I probably should have googled that, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
Great presentation 👍. Visited the ancient city of Ephesus, it is truly a mesmerising and breathtaking city and only 15-20 % has been excavated.
Thanks, Matt! Eager to resume ACTS and loving every minute of it!
Darryl and Connie... Um....
i came here bc im a huge fan of no dumb questions and now after watching ur videos im a huge fan of ur channel keep up the good work :)
If i was a new Christian in Ephesus i would be so excited that God sent Paul to my city.
with that said, this actually got me excited the God cared so much for the Ephesians to send Paul there so they too could here the message and be saved. good vid
Fun...I was watching your episode while streaming the sound track to Batman Begins. At first I didn't connect...my pulse was racing as you talked about the romans and the city and the...poop...and the orchestra is playing this very powerful movement and I was thinking to myself...MAN...he's nailing it! Im exicited! Then the song ended and you were waving your hands and into it... and I laughed a bit. Changed your whole presentation. Now I really understand why soundtracks are so integral to the story.
Thanks for the video. Good job, that's a lot of history to cover in a short video. I really learned a lot, I would love to visit the Mediterranean.
Love these historical context videos!
Matt, this is really good! Thanks for the help - we were just discussing Ephesus and the Acts 19 riot in Bible Study, before going into the story of Eutychus in worship. I appreciate your humor and good background info!
Thanks Lucus; I'll try to do a bunch more geographical episodes in the coming year.
Cheers to TMBH. I used to be really obstinate about my aversion towards history, and you completely changed my perception of history and learned to embrace history. and manatees.
great overview. thanks
Great work man!
AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke Gracias Ben!
loved this. i'd like more vids on Ephesus like this :)
Worth watching for comedy value alone. Thanks
ha ha. Hera, from Star Wars Rebels. nice
Thank you for this :)
Thumbs up for the backward bicycle shirt. Oh and a great video too.
GENERAL HERA SYNDULLA!!!!
How far did they move it and did they also move the temple?
Make Ephesus great again.
Hey, that wasn't England 1000 years ago, that was England 951 years ago. A lot can change in 50 years, too. There's a big difference between King Cnut and William the Conqueror, and I would expect they'll be a reasonably big difference between England, 2017 and England, 2066. (On that note though, my town is in the domesday book, and that's not terribly unusual for towns in England.)
Your work looks wayyyyy to cold for me! I love this video though, I absolutely LOVE learning about the history and culture of Biblical times.
The poop part made it.
+WΔY ΔWΔY poop has a way of doing that.
Wait!!!! What happened to the manatee! Did destin fly to the other side of the country and steal it. LOL :)
The temple looks a lot like the Lincoln memorial with his giant statue on it's throne.Hmmmm....
I heard John the beloved disciple was also buried there correct ?
Si.👍
But where is the mane tee
Tell-a-vision is going to start copying your style, or whoever's style it is.
So what your saying, is that the town was full of crap. So everyone moved. LOL :) I do have to say, that is the best way I have heard to convince everyone to move. :) But how fast was that silt depositing? I would think the town would just naturally move down as silt built up.
It seems like Paul was taking a pretty big risk going there. Considering the town's economy was half built on this weird goddess. I mean, seriously. The two ways to get into a fist fight is to undermine someone's business and to tell somone there beliefs are all wrong. :)
Nice shirt. You can't ride it though.
+Matt Thompson I can ride neither the bike nor the shirt.
First! Beat you Mom!
Yay! You're not dead! How are you doing?
The Ten Minute Bible Hour You beat your mom? :P
Unless you yourself are also your mom!
Well, poop.
