- When James Rodriguez catapulted himself from star to superstar in the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Colombia, everyone predicted a very successful career both on a team and individual level.
He signed for Real Madrid in 2014 for a potential €90million fee. However, he has since failed to live up to expectations.
He suffered through a lot of injuries, got into feuds with his managers such Rafael Benitez, Zinedine Zidane and so on.
8 years after that glorious golden boot winning world cup campaign, James has since left to play at clubs like Bayern Munich, Everton and so on, but couldn't convince them to keep him long term.
So what happened?
This is the ill-fated decline of James Rodriguez.

Moral of the story try to get along with your Managers
He was a good player but didn't know how to win over the managers. When the manager hates you, you are doomed. Imagine Messi's career if his managers when he was starting would have taken a dislike for him. Imagine how many exceptional players didn't have a chance because their managers isolated them from the team.
