- Emiliano Martinez has been dubbed by the French media as the most hated Argentine ever. It all began with the psychological antics he was pulling off during the penalty shootout in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final versus France before his crazy celebrations as well as his constant trolling of France's Kylian Mbappe.
He was absolutely integral to Argentina winning the World Cup as his last minute save in extra time ensured Lionel Messi and Argentina won the World Cup.
The media have literally torn Martinez into shreds by labelling his celebrations as childish, unprofessional and embarrassing. But within this controversy is an inspiring journey to the World Cup final as Martinez only just a few years ago was actually warming Arsenal's bench with no real direction for his career to follow in order to progress.
