The first 20 minutes of this game sold me the dreams that Barcelona has finally changed for the better. Every defensive action was perfect, the Lamine dribble to assist Raphinnas 3rd goal of the champions league giving as a 2 goal lead, it was the perfect scenario for us. Then Araujo’s red blew everything away like it was all for nothing. When will we ACTUALLY be back?

Unlucky rash decisions. we are back. The team is great, they need a more experienced coach. The team is young. The red card didn't define the game.
It was the small actions after that. That defined the game.
Cancelo doesn't track back for Dembeles 1st goal
The passive defending for Vitinhas goal
Xavi losing his head and getting sent off
And to top it off Cancelo again makes a horrible error, inexperienced error. Which he shouldn't do considering his age and experience.
He goes to ground on Dembele inside the box.
      So poor

We lack intensity with both De Jong and Pedri in the team. We don’t press well without the ball for sure, even with 11 players, PSG easily played through us many times. I love Pedri but he doesn’t have the legs unfortunately. With the ball it’s more frustrating coz none of them (De Jong and Pedri) give us options with their movement. They are way too withdrawn, they don’t run like Fermin or Roberto. They NEVER make any forward runs, I don’t understand how such young players barely ever run into the flanks or box to cause a dangerous threat. So our front players have to run even more and that’s unacceptable. Commentators kept on saying ‘they help with keeping the ball’ but how when they barely run so Ter Stergen and our backline end up playing long balls which is easy to defend against. We didn’t have any control tonjght, not even before the red card.
Otherwise, the red card was harsh in my opinion and that’s where we lost the game. Xavi should’ve left Yamal and removed Pedri to maintain a goal threat. But he didn’t so then why not put in Fermin sooner? We were flat in the middle and that’s the honest truth. I’ll repeat it again, I love Pedri, but he wasn’t supposed to start this game. This is recency bias. I somewhat agree with your comment that they don't make runs(even though they do when asked to do so). But the reason they looked laboured both of them is because they were coming off injuries, but since there's no squad depth had to play. Frankie and Pedri could not keep and it was clear as day. This is not something that's always been the case as you make it seem as far as the runs Xavi employs this sort of 2 pivot system that you would have seen when watching the games, as in two players to dictate play(Frenkie, Pedri) a player to make runs Gundogan. They weren't asked to make runs, thus no runs

So many angering layers to this:
    1. We had the lead entering the tie and had a healthy Pedri and Frenkie and Gundogan...so you try to dominate the ball. Psg weren't pressing us. And we just gave it right to them.
    2. We would've faced DORTMUND in the semis with a 2nd leg at home
    3. We let Dembele score two absolute screamers on us.
    4. We shut Mbappe down for 180 minutes and still let him score 2 goals on us in 1 game....
    5. Barcelona, the most traditionally beloved passing club in the world, couldn't pass the damn ball.
    6. Xavi's frustration and rage boiled over today and it was sad to see, he knew it was his last serious match as a manager for Barcelona.
    7. The fact you think we were fine in the first 15 minutes is insane. Goal or not, we were getting eaten alive and couldnt string a pass together. Then, we got it going from 20-30th minutes. But we kept letting them run on to us after losing the ball cheaply time after time after time, which is where the Araujo red comes from

everything that could have gone wrong today, went wrong, it just wasn’t our day. It hurts because psg didn’t even play good. It was our own unlucky mistakes which caused our downfall. This was the easiest route we had to the ucl final in a long time. Good news is most of our players are young and only get better with time. So this is a new era for Barcelona

When Araujo got the red, Xavi needed to switch to a 441 formation
    Lewandowski
    Pedri-Gundogan-FDJ-Yamal
    Raphinha-Curbasi-Araujo-Cancelo
    MTS
Taking off Yamal was a bad call by Xavi.

We had the champions league on a silver platter again and we can never take advantage of it.

I love Arajuo but that challenge is one you make to save a lead in the 80th minute not in 30th minute

Honestly, as a Barca fan I can say I’m proud of the team. When it comes to the result I’m just disappointed and personally I feel we just got unlucky. As for the future, I think we need to address a couple of things to succeed.
For starters secure the next manager, we know Xavi announced his decision and we need to respect that and not dig a hole for ourselves. Next, sign a pivot that will allow us to thrive under pressure. We clearly falter under pressure and our defense ends up needing to make reckless decisions which can lead to mistakes like that of Araujos. The something that might not seem like much but overall effective I feel like is that we need to start practicing long shots. This next summer is so important for us it’s not even funny man. As long as we get things right we can succeed.
