  • Hi, after a long time I'm back with a video!!!
Is this video I try to land planes of all sizes at Saba airport, located in the Caribbean. The runway is just 400 metres (1,312 feet) long. So it's definitely challenging with big planes!!!

I have flown into that airport a few times. First thing is that the approach, in my 5 times there, has always been from the opposite direction. I would like to see the take off, or even the turn around. I don't think that it would work so well. That being said, the simulator is absolutely incredible in what it looks like there. To let you know, in 2011, the last time I was there, they had a 0 fatality for any landing or take off. I hope that is still the case.

It also relate to training, U.S navy pilots are trained to land on carriers, even when they land on airfields, their landing is still a bit different than airforce pilot, and usually dont flare(probably for better landing precision). However, countries like Australia that also fly F-18 but in airforce does flare their jets, but the nose still dosent raise as high as F-16.

Also starting with more altitude and more AoA will probably make things easier. Carrier landings are at 8deg AoA, ~130knots and -700vfpm. Can definitely go slower and more AoA and higher descent rate

They even try to artificially increase the runway by clearing some stuff they might have there like antennas, trees, everything.

Ruasia blew up Ukraine’s only Anton 225 on Feb. 24, 2022 while in a Ukrainian airport hangar. It might be a sign of respect to remove this plane from the simulator for a brief time; Russia has robbed the world of its largest and most impressive aircraft in history. Please consider mourning the loss of our world’s

Awesome fun to watch. I always wondered why they made the best Flight Sim ever, but then you can bounce the planes off of cliffs and land them. I understand why they don't want magnificent explosions, but at least try and make some sort of realistic damage and physics upon contact. Anyhow it's the only thing that would make it a better sim.

i mean... America made a C-130 Hercules land and take off in a football stadium during the Iran Contra conflict so... i'd imagine with enough ingenuity you could land almost anything anywhere. also when you have an elevated runway one way you can reduce airspeed is to approach from a much lower position and use the slight climb to reduce your speed to make landing a bit easier, it probably looks scary as all hell from the cockpit flying directly towards the rocks but it's definitely a viable strategy. i think if you timed it right you could almost stall it into landing!
