In terms of the title "Romance Dawn": This is not meant in a way that is associated with love and attraction to a person but rather the larger concept of having a spirit for adventure and excitement and the unknown. So Roger starting the whole pirate era and Luffy starting his personal adventure is the "Romance" here that the title alludes to.
One Piece is a romance, just not the kind of one most people think of, whenever they hear that word.
Props to the girl on right, shes so cool about one piece. She not overhyping for them also giving them appropriate information.
Oda, the creator, said that Inaki, the kid that plays luffy was everything he thought luffy is. He was impressed with the audition so much that he said that he thought he would never find someone that could play the role. It was so spot on that Oda wanted to meet him personally.
There is a story that Oda gave Inaki a Straw Hat saying something like "You are Luffy now."

I haven't read the manga or seen the anime, either, but holy fucking elephant shit, this show was pretty good. I actually started watching the anime because of this. I'm barely on episode 5, so I still got like a trillion more to go.
Enjoy the journey my friends, don't rush it. I've been a One Piece fan for 14 years. When I caught up, it was really painful that i had to wait every 1-2 weeks for new chapters, and Oda-sensei still cooking till this day

So romance has two definitions, the romance that the title is referring to is the second definition which is: a quality or feeling of mystery, excitement, and remoteness from everyday life. Essentially it is referring to the start of a new adventure, the excitement for starting on to a new path in life and the mysteries that lie ahead! Congrats on starting this journey for yourselves!! I hope you enjoy it like many of us have been!

"Romance" in this case is more a "desire for adventure" meaning here; there's very little romantic love in One Piece.
The title "Romance Dawn" refers to a few different things in the One Piece world: There's two one-shot stories that Oda wrote as precursors to One Piece, both titled Romance Dawn, and both starring Luffy and his stretchy powers. Romance Dawn is also the name of the first chapter of the manga and the first story arc, which the live action covers in episode 1.
This show is just fun...you'll see later, but it has a lot of heart too. Amazed that the show actually works with how zany the source material is. It's over the top anime shit the show runners didn't shy away from and I'm so happy about it.

Romance Dawn is also the title of a oneshot manga Oda did as he was preparing to write One Piece when he was younger. It shows many of the basic concepts that were either refined or dropped when the proper story started. The title refers to the concept of starting an adventure and the romance of boldly facing and exploring the unknown.

I watched the entire season when it came out. I've never watched the anime but now that I've watched the live action I loved it so much I started the anime. I'm on episode 57 of season 1.

In Japan, people use the word "romantic" or "roman" to mean "idealistic" or "dreamer". Basically as the opposite of the word "realist". Luffy is a big on chasing dreams over everything.
It's the same in English, but the meaning has been lost.

This is the worst series in the world, it has no connection at all, and it lacks a lot of important details that they never used. As for the real One Piece, the anime One Piece is just the best, nothing else, and the talk is over.
