Hello Angela, I also hate clowns, they are very intimidating. I'm glad you reacted to my favorite series. One Piece is a masterpiece for me, I'm happy to start this beautiful journey with you.
The casting for this is insane, everyone was so perfect, though Buggy is probably my favourite casting choice.
What's great about the live adaptation of One Piece is the fact that they cut the fat off of the first arc and stuck with/improved on the stuff that matters. To be completely fair, it helped that about 40% of the anime episodes were multi-part fights and/or recaps on those fights.
A denden mushi (snail) in live action was very amazing!
Sorry you had to reupload. I also hadn’t seen anything about this until the live action but I’m totally sold. It’s worth the watch for sure.
Shame the originals were struck but glad to see this back again. Very eager to see how you react to the rest of this series!

I can only remember one difference, which was when Shanks pointed to the anchor on Luffy's shirt. That was removed. Obviously there were more but I couldn't point them out.
So bummed you had to re-upload, but happy to watch again and support the channel. Onto episode two!

so one of the biggest changes in this episode was zoros enoucnter with number 7 from baroque works, in the anime that organization wasnt introduced untill later on however zoro had mentioned they tried to recruit him before so the live adaptation decided to show that encounter, one of the strengths of the live action is scenes like this were some concepts or groups are shown early to help flesh them out in the early arcs, some arnt as overt as it but theres a few easter eggs of later concepts from book titles and wanted posters referancing later events/characters in the anime

I never noticed but Bink's Brew is playing while Shanks is stitching up Luffy. Of course, I also watched the LA before the Anime and deep into the 500's so I've heard it enough times now to recognize it. LOL.

Zoro is my favorite character with Luffy a close second 😏 Mackenyu is the perfect actor to portray him having years of experience with sword fighting and having done several live actions. He was Enishi in the Ruroni Kenshin live action which was also an excellent anime adaptation.

One piece is one of the biggest IP ever outside the USA it's as big as Star wars Harry Potter and similar IPs

They did a lot of things right with this adaptation, but the number one thing they did right is definirely the casting. Luffy is a character who, on so many levels, should not work in live action, but Inaki Godoy absolutely nailed it.

Don't worry, you know about as much as what the One Piece is as anyone caught up with the manga/anime does. Which is to say, not much. It is a thing and that's all we know. What kind of thing? Who knows. Apparently the author has said that it is in fact a physical object but like, god knows what it is.
The flashback to what happens between kid Luffy and adult Luffy is unfortunately a long way off (if we go by the manga) but he does indeed grow up a lot between the time (well grow up a lot for Luffy)

there are obviously a lot of things that they changed for this live action in order to make it flow better, but honestly i think they did such an incredible job that i don't really mind it.
as for if the characters are the same/similar as to the anime/manga: i say go read/watch it for yourself if you are truly interested!
us One Piece fans are kinda notorious for being the Jehovah's Witness of Anime, but i promise you we only mean well, we just want more people to get into this amazing story with us LMAO

It is semi annoying that the Netflix show changed what Rodger said. His actual words were that his treasure is "IN ONE PIECE"
if you want to get technical his actual words were something Japanese and as far as translations go the official english manga translation called Zoro "Zolo" so can we really trust its accuracy?
