From "I hate clowns" to "I want a whole show about Buggy". The power of a good performance.
Oh and if you think you're hooked after this episode, just wait. "Stuff" gets real from now on.
☝
Yup, most people say they fell in love with the one piece anime right around the events of the last 3 episodes of the live action.
The one thing you need to remember about Zoro and Luffy:
If Luffy stops smiling…
If Zoro draws his katanas and starts smiling…
Run.
They are the true soul mates 😂
there's that one scene where zoro basically stands fast and refuses to die because his friends are all still unconscious
@@jamescheddar4896why would u comment this
@@blankprivatecompany9296 I didn't nothing happened
@@jamescheddar4896 whatever you say I’m caught up with the anime so I know almost everything accept about u know who is always watching
The looks on Luffy and Nami’s faces when they realize Luffy won the bet. It’s absolutely priceless. He’s so smug. Shes so annoyed. Lol
So, Kuina’s “accident” isn’t ever touched on in this so it’s not a spoiler, but its nothing crazy or purposeful.
She literally fell down the stairs.
Which isn’t like some big thing, but I think that makes it much more of a “you never know when someone you love will be gone” kind of thing.
It kills me that STAIRS killed our girl
Good to know! Wow. She fell down the stairs?? Damn. That's rough, buddy! 😅
Umm, yeah, maybe. It could also be their culture to say it that way when someone "self-deletes", so they don't have that shame to bear. In the anime her father was always admonishing her about being a female trying to compete in a "man's world". Although, Kuina having died by "falling down the stairs" and being such a tragic waste to such an accident could have been the turning point or Zoro to strive for "his dream" because "accidents" happen every day.
There are a lot of theories regarding Kuina's death. With Oda's writing anything can happen, including her really being dead.
@@rromano158 This is actually a myth. If it is a saying, it's not Japanese in origin.

The Snails are telepathic and can communicate with each other over vast distances. Hence the phones. Love the reactions.
let not forget that world that it take place is mostly water... so snail phone make more sense because most electronic equipment will get wet eventually, let not forget about a power source... as for snail you just need to feed it.
Fun fact, the snail system is based on a real life historical event. There was a French inventor who attempted to make the equivalent of a telegraph via snails that could communicate with their mates via some kind of long-distance chemical reaction. Really interesting stuff.
@@SmilingJack65 yo dude i need your sources

@@KingfisherMC Told ya lol. It's wild isn't it? What's amazing is he kinda succeeded, it just wasnt a system that could be mass produced or be efficient in any way. Love how Oda interpreted it.
I appreciate the suddenness of Kuina's death and the refusal to "explain" it, because real life is, sadly, like that sometimes. People can leave us without warning, or reason. And we struggle for an explanation where there is none. Zoro finds meaning, though, in striving to perfect his craft. He turns trauma into a goal. And there's beauty in that.
Thisss. People love to complain about it but especially when you know someone who dies young, usually that's how it goes. Here one day, gone the next. And the impact of seeing that even the strongest person he knows is, in some ways, so fragile and that life is never guaranteed is a very raw lesson
Agreed. It's not a super dramatic story, but it's nonetheless a strong idea in a very subtle way.
She is not even dead, she becomes a Navy Lieutenant and canon is shown in Punk Hazard Arc. However, the show is changing things, so who knows when she will appear. The feminism nonsense had nothing to do with the original story, just woke nonsense.
@@acetraker1988 what...? The "feminism nonsense" in the backstory with kuina is ripped straight from the manga/anime. And the adult we meet us not kuina, she's tashigi. She just looks a lot like kuina and it spooks zoro. Seriously, the moment the word "woke" shows up I know the person talking is braindead.
@@acetraker1988 Tashigi and Kuina are not the same person. Oda said so himself in an interview for Shonen Jump. Revisit Loguetown arc, which is next up for the live action so we'll likely meet Tashigi in ep1 of season 2.
Fun fact, the reveal that Garp is Luffy's grandpa was a pretty big spoiler for many new readers. The reveal in the manga/anime isn't until about 420 chapters in. Syrup village (when this takes place) ends around chapter 40.
I really do prefer the mang/anime reveal, but it's also amusing to see reactors have, more or less, the same reactionwe had even though they've only known these characters for 4 episodes
As someone who is only a couple hundred episodes in, I did not expect a season 1 live action to do this to me.
we had to wait and the reveal was nice. but for the netflix one, i guess its nice. they cut throught the arc nicely.
@@dlazyace9116 I had tried to pick up the manga several times over the past few decades without being able to get through the first couple of chapters. But I'm glad that I was able to pick it up where the live action left off, and when I got to that part I was very glad the show changed it the way they did. In the manga he just comes out of nowhere for no reason, and the reveal doesn't have any real significance at that time, it's just setting Garp up for his part a few arcs later (you know what I'm talking about). I think if the live action makes it that far, it will work a lot better for them having pulled out this reveal now rather than at the end of season 4.
@@phatpat63 As someone who has read the manga several times throughout the last 2 decades, I agree.
It's really not that important to wait that long for the reveal, because Garp does not play any role in the manga until that part anyway (except the cover story, which is basically adapted here in Season 1).
Also it's not like we don't have more crazy stuff in that (and the following) chapters anyway. 😊
Happy for you that you finally picked it up. Don't know where you are by now, but OP gets better and better with every arc at the later parts, so enjoy.
The "no romance among the crew" thing was basically the only demand of Eiichiro Oda, the author of the mangá for the LA adaptation.
Thank goodness. It is nice to see characters just be friends.
@@Phanthief95 Agreed
Thank god for Oda, Romance would ruin the show
Absolutely not his only demand. He was VERY hands on. Putting Garp this early in the show and revealing their relationship apparently took a hell of a lot of convincing.
I highly doubt that was his only demand, and from all the interviews out there we know he was more involved, and that everything had to be approved by him. So what makes you say this was the only demand of Oda for the LA?
The thing about arms & legs being longer is specifically about sword fighting, longer limbs = longer reach.
It's mostly about strength, though.
A (female) family member of mine was a serious fencer - in her late teens should could beat most adult males who had been training regularly. But she had a big disadvantage against males her age who had serious talent starting around age 13 - about half her offensive repertoire just stopped working against them because their arms/wrists were suddenly much stronger than hers.
You noticed that the sensei was very sad that Kuina was gone; in the anime/manga the sensei was her father. They don't establish that in the live action but I think it could still be true. I also think it makes the scene where the sensei is telling Zoro that Kuina is gone a bit more interesting because Zoro tells him "We made a promise!" Later on the sensei learns that Zoro meant about becoming the world's greatest swordsman, but I think in that moment he's going "Oh, this kid might have become my son-in-law."
edit: btw great reaction!
They show the last name of Both Kuina and father in this episode which could be easily missed.
Kuina and Zoro are second cousins though
Yeah, like others said, no matter how far away, they are blood related cousins, not gonna happen either ways😅
I appreciate that while looking for everyone Zoro gets lost and ends up back in the entry way for his fight.
Also serious Luffy is great. Inaki does such a good job of going from silly to serious and threatening. That crazy grin he does when overpowering Kuro and pulling back his hands is *chefs kiss* but then can go back to happy go lucky Luffy and it doesnt feel out of place.
I really don't get people who criticized Zoro, saying he was too serious all the time and not enough like the anime/manga. The actor is great at dry humour and sarcastic banter which suits Zoro. Same with him not letting lost in the show enough. As you said, he quite clearly gets lost and ends up back where he was. In the previous episode, he is lost looking for the kitchen. In the next episode, he gets lost on the boat when Nami is trying to get him to direct the sails and he doesn't know port or starboard. I think you're right, him getting lost is clearly there and is subtle but hilarious for those that know.
Inaki is perfect as Luffy. He sells naivity, endless optimism and angry resolve brilliantly.
Damn Johnny Depp! as soon as heard that cannon shot near the end first thing that goes through my head is " STOP BLOWING HOLES IN MY SHIP "
No lie, we're like 300+ episodes into the anime and every time someone fires at the strawhats, that's EXACTLY what hubby and I yell at the TV. It's become a running gag at this point.
The song that plays as they set sail on The Going Merry is a take on the original opening song of the anime called "We Are". The lyrics start with:
"Come on aboard and bring along
all your hopes and dreams..."
And it's wonderful that this series didn't play "We are" until they got the Merry. That must have taken a lot of willpower on the part of the producers.
One small detail about Kuro that I've always loved since seeing it as a kid, is the way that he adjusts his glasses. He always uses the palm of his hand to push them up, because he is used to having knife fingers. Just a little thing, but it's so informed by who he is as a character.
they reveal and explain it better in anime/manga, I'm just glad they kept in that character trait for Kuro in this series
@@TheHeroClass they don't have to explain it, only show it.
I love your editor! His little touches are *chef's kiss*.
;D
Girl, you're getting close to 100k followers!! I'm tellin ya, we're gonna be at 500k before no time! 😊
Haircut's name is Helmeppo. Oh and hoping Luffy will be more careful with what he eats is a lost cause.
Buggy is one of the most popular characters of the series so good choice.
Luffy has eaten a bucket of fish bait so yeah, anything is game lol
I forget who the editor is on these but dude you are terrific. The edits just have me dying of laughter. Literally cause I choked while laughing.
Thanks, I appreciate you! But also, please don't choke!
27:10 Fun fact, the ost playing at this moment is the instrumental of the very first One Piece opening song, “We Are”.
It's the track I chose as the background music to her episode intros for this series ;D I love the orchestrated soundtrack!
We are on a cruise!
Here's a little bit of knowledge about the one piece universe, people LOVE to talk about their devil fruits. If you don't hear someone say they have a devil fruit, then they don't have one.
If they have one, they will be sure to let you know
In the manga, there is no romance amongst the crew members. Oda, the story's creator, was an executive producer for the live action. Everything had to be approved by him first. One Piece is Oda's baby. He's been drawing and writing it for over a quarter of a century. He didn't want anybody to take away from the heart and message of his story. That, I believe is one of the big reasons why this show was so successful. They stay true to the heart of the story.
What also helped, was the casting, the directing, the practical effects (The ships were hand built), and the fact that the whole cast and crew were passionate about this story and Oda's world.
You're 100% right that Haircut's real name is absolutely ridiculous; Helmeppo. Fun fact about Axe-hand Morgan and Captain Kuro. In the original series, Kuro had a hypnotist named Jango as the vice-captain of his crew. Kuro managed to become the butler Klahadore after faking his own death with Morgan being the one who carried out the execution.
Kuro had Jango hypnotize a crewmember who looked vaguely like him to take his place as a "Captain Kuro" body-double and then wiped out the entire crew of a Marine battleship except for one rank and file marine ; that marine was Axe-Hand Morgan. Kuro then had Jango also hypnotize Morgan into believing "he was the man who took down Captain Kuro." A lot of fans theorize that Morgan's behavior is, to some extent, due to the conditioning from that hypnotism and that's why he has such an overinflated and self-important attitude. Extra side-note, when Kuro wiped out his crew, Morgan tried to smack talk Kuro and Kuro stomped on his jaw in retaliation; so it was Kuro's fault that Axe-Hand Morgan has that big metal jaw cover.
Also, on the topic of character powers, Kuro does not have a devil fruit and he really is just that fast. Typically, devil fruit users will act like Luffy and Buggy where they call out a word combo associated with the name of their particular fruit (Gum Gum and Chop Chop) before they attack.
Also also, to help make a bit more sense on just what Luffy can and can't tolerate as a rubber guy, his weakness is sharp/pointy things. Oda decided that Luffy is able to shake off any kind of blunt force damage; though he can still be knocked around by it. For the bit about being shot to make sense, remember that they're supposed to be in a pirate era. Back during this time period, bullets were round little balls rather than the type we know today that have a sharp point. That's why Luffy is immune to guns in this series, since the little ball bullets don't have an edge, they can't cut him and just bounce off instead.
I hope this helps clear up a few bits of confusion with Luffy's powers and I hope the extra backstory for Kuro and Axe-Hand Morgan was interesting! Looking forward to your next reaction!
Actually, Morgan's safe contained Kuro's wanted poster. Kuro's "death" wad what made Morgan the Captain of the Shells Town Marine Base.
It’s not explained in the live action, but in the manga/anime it’s made clear that Morgan *genuinely* thought he was the one who brought Kuro down… Basically, Kuro slaughtered the rest of Morgan’s unit in a fight that cost him his arm and lower jaw, before using a scapegoat who was brainwashed into believing that HE was actually Kuro himself (and resembled him well enough).
So, Morgan brought the fake Kuro in to be executed, and got his promotion to Captain as a result. He’s been riding off that “achievement” ever since; he even kept the poster to bolster his own ego. While he genuinely does think he got Kuro, that doesn’t mean Morgan isn’t ultimately an arrogant blowhard (and a negligent, abusive father to his son - even telling Helmeppo the only reason he didn’t discipline him was because he couldn’t be bothered).
"YOU'RE MY GOAL!" always gets me. It's the ~perfect~ thing to say in this situation.
30:15 Kuina was speaking specifically about physicalities. Skill is an equalizer but it's a huge divide to close the gap. She was not wrong in her assessment. Men are very much, in general, bigger, stronger and faster than women. That's nature. Her conclusion, though, was not right. It's alright to understand and accept that certain people will have natural advantages over others. However, it's not alright to just give up ambitions because there's a handicap.
She didn't say she was going to give up - she just acknowledged reality. Even at the same size and weight men have a physical advantage over women because - biology. It's annoying to hear non athletes say, 'Oh the women just have to train harder and with men' because they are basically saying that the likes of Serena Williams and Martina Navratilova, who have both acknowledged that they could not beat much lower ranked male tennis players, are lazy and just need to try harder.
The familial reveal is something that doesn't get revealed for like 350 chapters of the manga (about 315 or so episodes of the anime). It's so far the only major long term "spoiler" the live action show revealed (there are some minor ones, but for the most part they're blink-and-you-miss-it background stuff, if you don't know about 'em you wouldn't even notice).
GRANDPA?
Yes, it was: Monkey D Lufy and Monkey D Garp
Every character old enough to recognized Garp would be instantly knew Lufy is related with Garp everytime lufy announced his full name, which was "Monkey D. "
20:05 "Reaching Critical Simpage Levels" - I haven't seen Angela simp so much since she saw Captain Apollo for the first time. 😁😁😁😁

Lmao! As someone that also had never seen the anime, "WHAT?!?" was exactly my response, too. Well played.
Love your reactions!
Luffy and Shanks can’t meet each other until Luffy becomes a great pirate, that’s part their promise.
The live action let slide that the sensei of Zoro and Kuina is Kuina's dad, and HE has an old way of thinking and used to say that Kuina would never be a great warrior because she is a girl.
The accìdente was simple, she fall down of the stairs.
Glad you have enjoyed your journey so far! I hope your ready for the second half of the season, its gets better and the characters get hunkier x)

She did die. Unfortunately it was a mundane death. She tripped and fell down stairs 😞 rip. Although it was mundane, that hurts. Ive fallen down stairs multiple times. It hurts and my body doesn’t work properly for a while.
Rewatching this show with you has been a delight! Isn’t Luffy and the crew so lovable? Can’t wait for your reactions to the next two and if you’ll ONLY be simping for Zoro.
The editor of this episode was hilarious! I love the little bonus commentary.
Find someone who looks at you the way she looks at Zoro’s bone structure.
Love that you are enjoying the show so much. The series as a whole might be goofy and light heartes, but it has so much heart to complement it.
I love watching you experience the story for the first time. Each time, I'm like, "wait until you see the next episode!!!" LOL
33:57 Also that line is a call back to when Kaya said to Nami "I'm stronger than you think" when they were in her room talking about how everyone always treated her like she is weak because of her illness.
Of all the reaction channels I have watched, your's is the most entertaining to me by far. Your humor gets me and I find myself laughing out loud at the things you do or say (also the editor lol). As well, you're so adorable, you're obviously having a lot of fun with this. I hope you're having a great day
as someone who lost my dad when i was 4, to a completely unexpected heart attack, i fully understand how absurd Kuina's death is. it might seem like there's an ulterior motive by some rival, or maybe there was a plot that went awry somehow, or SOMETHING.
but no, sometimes life just ends like that, without any warning or chance to prepare. it's rough, but it's REAL. and i'm so glad that Oda decided to portray that in some way in this story
I've just recently found your channel and I really love your OP reactions! Looking forward to the next one!!
There's something minor from the manga that differs slightly from the live action that I'd like to address regarding Usopp's characterization. I personally wouldn't consider it to be a spoiler, but if you do, don't read further.
In the manga, the story with Usopp isn't really a "Boy who cried wolf" story, at least not entirely. When he tries to tell his village that pirates are coming (for real this time), he IS met with the response that no one believes him. But his reaction ends up being a bit different- He has this idea of "Everyone thinks I'm lying, and I'm going to make sure it STAYS a lie by stopping the pirates. Everyone is going to keep living their lives, thinking that I was just lying like usual." It paints more of a picture of Usopp as a noble liar (which is in opposition to Kuro who everyone believes to be a truthful and respectable member of society), whereas in the live action his lies are depicted more as being a character flaw.
In the manga and anime Usopp has a long nose like Pinocchio.
According to the Big Book of Dumb Names - Helmeppo means Bad Haircut.
Loved your reaction. Thing with this show is that one episode makes you want to watch the next and then the next and so on. Eagerly waiting for you to meet the characters introduced in epi 5.
I look for your content daily it makes my week so much better. Thank you for being you and never change
I love that this show just decided to run with the craziness of the enemy. They could’ve shied away from it but they decided to go all in.
Man, loving these reactions! Can't wait for the next one!
I was eagerly waiting to see your reaction to _"Grandpa?"_ because it's that big realization moment. I do feel that Garp pursuing Luffy very early on was a little rushed, not quite rushed but introduced much earlier than what they did in the Manga or Anime show. But yeah they had to make changes to fit live-action, and hour long episodes, it does feel as though it's rushed in places, but it did make the pacing a little more quicker by having Garp in pursuit and that big reveal.
Also the guy that's always with Garp is his Vice Admiral, they're essentially their wing-man to go places and do things together on their duties.
Appropriate response to "Grandpa?"
For clarification, Luffy's rubber body renders him virtually immune to poison, though he can be affected by really strong toxins, as we see much later in the anime.
Oh yay! I was worried with the copyright issues with the previous episodes I thought we were just abandoning the series - I was like “Nooo! There’s much more cool stuff you haven’t seen yet 😟 and tons more crew and awesome characters to meet 🤓. but sooo happy you’re sticking with the series, you’re gonna fall in love with it! Ahh so hard not to say spoilers 🙉
But yes stay with the series it is sooo epic it’s the best series - and I don’t even watch anime 😂😎👍
Most common sequence of events for non-One Piece fans who start watching the live action and react to it on CZcams:

Two new great reactions from Angela today! Makes me so happy 😄
One of the other weakness of the gum gum fruit is slash attacks!
Not only is Zorro very strong, but I think the locking mechanism was unlocked when they tried to open the mansion.
You mean to tell me I have to wait another week to see the other reaction?! Thank you for sharing with us!!
"wouldnt it ve suspicious?" Yes, but in he anime its elaborated that the goal is to frame it as pirates ransacking the town/house to rob her, and killing her in the process. Then her dutiful and grieving butler inherits it all
Kuro is the kind of guy who gladly do some pirate shit, but can't stand with the consequences of it, he don't want to be chased by Marines, bounty hunters and other pirates. The whole Kaya thing is him trying to go legit without risks... at least that was his plan! And for Luffy, Kuro don't deserve to call himself a pirate because he don't want to deal with consequences.
the upbeat music right after they got the boat is the 1st anime one piece opening and when i heard it i smiled and started crying bcoz i knew this show has the spirit of the original source material.... and the garp and luffy thing was a surprise bcoz originally that information was revealed on a much later arcs
When Luffy gets *serious*.... he is terrifying (in the best way).
Also, Going Merry is a practical set. They built it for real, and I LOVE that.
Same goes for all the ships in the show which make it all amazing.
@@nicolaskaito4769 well, all of the primary ships. I'm pretty certain that a lot of the ships at the very beginning of episode 1 were cgi.
2:30 she said 'God usopp' took care of kaya . Anime and manga readers know 😂
Here's a like, a comment, and a watch! 😊
I think the tragedy of Kuina's death is so narratively perfect. It's not covered in the live action, but she literally dies by slipping and falling down the stairs. It's a random, tragic accident, the kind of thing that could happen to anyone, but you just don't expect to see that in a show like this. That hopeful, determined dreamer doesn't just die of a random accident- if they stop chasing their dreams, normally it's because of something grand and dramatic. But that's not how real life works. As much as we all hate it, people who matter to us, important people, ones destined to do great things, sometimes just die for stupid, random reasons that have no purpose, and I like that this show acknowledges that.
I still think it would have made for better story telling if she was killed during a raid with pirates defending her village. So the "hunting down pirates" theme would give it more meaning.
@@Jorlaxe strongly disagree. I think the mundane nature of it makes it far more painful than any heroic death. The whole point IS the pointlessness. She didn't get to achieve her dream for something so small? That means Zoro cant let down his guard for a second, ever, not for the rest of his life, if he wants to honor her legacy, because death is random and unpredictable and even with all that he still might fail, because thats how the world works. Its why he's drawn to Luffy, who is so relentlessly optimistic and believes so strongly that he cannot fail.
Death fighting off pirates is cliche and shallow compared to all of that.
It's been a minute since I've read the manga/anime but I think they say that she slipped down those stairs after going to get a whetstone to sharpen the katana she used to fight Zoro(it's possible that's from the anime "filler" though cause this whole thing is different there too) and adds a bit extra beyond just the random tragic accident imo. Actions have unforeseen and unintentional consequences.
@@gooseweasel
The mundane nature makes sense in the LA but not so much the manga.
Even OP civilians have extreme durability by normal human standards.
@@gooseweasel to each his own opinion.
When the Alvida pirate shot him, it was with a musket ball, not a bullet
Basically, he can be pierced or slashed, like rubber, but blunt damage... invincible.
Season 2 has been renewed and I'll just tell you now as a fan of the manga/anime, what's coming next is gonna be so good trust me.
@@Phanthief95 I wanna know who's playing

"Miss All Sunday"
Those last 2 are very important for spoiler reasons. Also it's rumored Jamie Lee Curtis might be playing kureha which I would be very excited for. Great actress who just so happens to be a big fan of the source material.
Woo Hoo! I'm so happy that you're watching this and Farscape. I look forward to Babylon, I've never seen more than a few commercials of it, so I'll be going in blind with your reaction. That ending. "Grandpa?!" hahaha
What I find hilarious though is how fast ussop made the jolly Roger.
I an 7 drinks in and was so looking forward to the Grandpa moment. It made me laugh with your reaction
Soooo....Zorro managed the " performance" to go from the well near Kaya's house,to the town. Grade A orientation skills 😅😅😅
Luffy is pretty much immune to bludgeoning type wepons. Musket balls are round, Kuro's blades are extremely sharp, so he can be cut by them. If a modern day bullet hit Luffy, it'd probably ounture him like a normal person
I love that the crew’s reaction to Luffy saying “Grandpa?!” perfectly reflects how we feel in that moment.
Oh you love Villains?
Next episode you will definitely love the villain
I am almost tempted to get patreon just to watch her react to the next episode. 😂
I would not call him a villain honestly.
That's the reaction I wanted to see. 😂 The whole grandpa thing. I can't wait for you to get to the last two episodes. Because it's a roller coaster, that's all I can say
Really thought you were gonna say "Sham & Wow"
That's Kuina's dad, also. And she fell down some stairs. It's not exactly covered much in the anime either. The idea is that Zoro feels like it's his fault because he challenged her and she was in the process of sharpening her sword when she fell to her death. Apparently. Allegedly.
Happy Friday. Love this show =)
In the manga there was another character involved in all this, named Jacko. He was working with Kuro from the beginning and he's a hypnotist.
Kuro faked his death by having Jacko hypnotize someone who looked like Kuro to pose as him and they hypnotized Cpt Morgan to bring that fake one in for execution.
Later Jacko was meant to hypnotize Kaya to make her write her will so it would give everything to Kuro.

One Piece has a funny way of making even the coldest, deadest of hearts grow three sizes
Out of all Fandom anime or otherwise the going merry is beloved by all.
Can't decide what's the best: the react or the editor notes! lol
14:24 in Hollywood land.
I remember in the junior and senior year of high school, we had a few gym sessions where the boys and girls competed in valleyball. Yeah, the boys were able to hit the ball much harder than the girls (and dang if it didn't really hurt when returning the ball), but we (I'm female) beat them 2 out of three times. We were more accurate and strategic than they were. So yeah, most guys are stronger than most girls, but strength isn't everything.
Lol. It looks like Batman and the Penguin had a kid.
Always love the GRANDPA moment reaction from the reactors XD
28:22 Grandpa?
That was funny. 😂
I loved your reaction at the end. As another commenter said, that "grandpa" reveal didn't happen in the original anime and manga until much later.
Yes, there will be a season 2... in 2025...
Shell-Phones
Interesting fact, the music that plays when the sail away on the Merry for the first time is actually a new version of the original theme of One Piece "We Are!"
In the manga the 'can be cut but not shot' is explained better:
Luffy is pretty much the opposite of Buggy. Buggy (in the manga) is immune to slice damage, but not resistant to blunt attacks like punches.
Luffy on the other hand is pretty immune to blunt force but very much affected by cuts (rubber absorbs the force, but slicing rips it appart).
That's why Kuro is a good early opponent to Luffy. Because his weapons is very effective against Luffy, and his leadership style is the polar opposite to luffy.
One very important thing about Luffy: he will eat whatever you put in front of him. He got his devil fruit power not by intentionally devouring it for the power he'd get, but because he was emotional eating whatever he could find. His stomach is a complete bottomless pit
Im so here for you getting the Going Merry on the wall. The LA did our Merry wrong imo but I'm sure you'd love it the same.
