- Finally, the suspense is over! In this episode, Joe and Zac take an extended look at the full 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers draft class.
Omar Khan and Andy Wiedl may have provided a sequel that was better than their first NFL Draft in 2023, yielding great values in several rounds that should improve the Steelers roster across the board.
The hosts talk about which picks will make an immediate impact and the overall outlook of the rookies, including undrafted free agents, on the upcoming season.

O line and D line are the most important positions aside from QB. Love this draft, we got immediate starters and potential future starters while addressing our needs. Can't ask for more.
These last 2 drafts and off seasons from Khan weydel and Tomlin have been awesome!👏 🖤💛🖤💛
I knew Zac would be happy about us getting Roman Wilson being a receiver guy like me 🔥 love the pick, this entire draft went perfectly! Now to get Aiyuk to the Burgh to finish the WR room!! Appreciate the content
And pay him how???? Aj Brown just signed for $32 million per year........he's gonna want close to that.......who are we cutting? This isn't Fantasy/Madden football.
@@gregd6706 and you’re not a GM 😂 what’s with every goofy fan getting so butthurt when Aiyuk is mentioned?? Leave the GM talk to Omar
I think our starting MLBs will be Queen and Robert’s with Payton or Holcomb rotation which will be nice
My favorite udfa is Jacoby windmon he has a great background and story and I really hope he makes it
They took watts for special teams and maybe develop into a safety at some point. I think Lee will beat out loudermilk for a spot
Can’t wait to watch herbig TJ and Highsmith blow right by Mims! Pretty sure cinci took him because they thought we wanted him but that was just a mind game for sure
Guys myself like most fans and SNR media guys was freaking thinking we had to move up to get frazier but Omar somehow knew he would be there I thought for sure we weren’t gonna get him saw him
Play at five WVU games cause family lives 20 min from stadium and two nieces are students seeing him play live knew he was best center my family of 40 live in uniontown half of us WVU fans and half Pitt two otero nieces go to Pitt so we hit slot of games and have so much fun WVU stadium is awesome
The steal will be Bernie Bishop can’t believe he was udfa saw him play at least 5 games he’s a dawg
Roman is bigger faster and plays the game the right way compared to Deonte who we also took in 3rd and everyone said was a slot lol can’t wait to watch Wilson to Pickens Wilson to Wilson and Wilson to muuuuth!
Don’t forget Anthony Carter #1
✌❤🤘
Water is NOT wet. Sorry. I had to say it.
Joey backwards yeoj
Makes too much sense and would be spot on for someone like my mom! LOL - Joe (not Joey... sigh... I despise the name "Joey" LOL)
Hope Roman picks 13
Bottom line Colbert put them in this position no 1st round picks OL for 10 years is ridiculous. With OL now looking like it’s fixed can you imagine what we can do in the next 2 drafts at DL and skill positions it’s wide open
First
And tell us the nickname
I did :-) - Joe
Daniels isn’t 30 Zac he’s 26
Ah you’re right. I was too excited for this one
I think I mentioned that at some point he's younger and Seumalo is the one who's 30ish. - Joe
General comment for all Podcasters after a year can we please stop with the X formerly known as Twitter OK everyone knows it’s X now. Just 🛑 IT !!!
I have a feeling Logan Lee makes the team. Call me crazy. Long show... I'm not complaining. And Go Steelers
Yeah, we ran out of time near the end, but his path is special teams right now. Has a solid shot. - Joe
What??? you feel he "makes the team"???? What???? OF COURSE your 6th round pick makes the team........???????
nfl network ok espn NOOOOOOOOOOO
I was hoping that the team would select Pearsal. But you know GM's of other teams pay close attention to who the Steelers bring in for a visit because the Steelers scouts are just better in my opinion. What of the things I really dislike is that too many people on podcasts as your never seem to miss an opportunity to bring up Burns, Green, Jones and others that just did not pan out on the team. You may beat up on players if you want but Burns is still in the league. Bush is still in the league. Dobson just got a pretty sweet contract, Jones went on to a semblance of a career not just here, but in Arizona, so he did better than many NFL players.
I know what I'm saying won't bear any fruits because many of you just won't miss a chance to bash certain players than other. But don't make it seem like other teams don't miss on first round picks, because the Steelers are not or will never be the only ones, so damn man, just let it go! Let the negativity regarding certain players that are not on the team go!
Pearsal went higher because the 49er's knew the Steelers were probably going to snatch him up, if he was there. But I have watched both of them play and Wilson has been more involved in helping his team win, more so than Pearsal did for Florida. In addition to that, Wilson's team won the NCAA championship. What was Florida's record, even with Pearsal.
I think the Steelers liked Wilson more than Pearsal anyway, everything being even, so they got who they wanted all along.
1.) We mention whiffs like Artie green and Jarvis jones to exemplify how much better these picks are
2.) Bush and burns suck. Artie’s a good guy but being a fringe practice squad guy holding on doesn’t mean ur good
3.) Jarvis jones did not go on to a “semblance” of anything. He was terrible from sun up to sun down
4.) I don’t “bash certain players” if they’re bad I say they’re bad. Usually I get accused of being to lenient
5.) I make fun of other teams all the time for missing on picks
6.) I’m smiling the entire show dude. No ones negative here
I probably go further out of my way to not trash players regardless of how they performed. That's including the likes of Burns, Bush, Jones, etc. (The ones I've probably been toughest on over the years are Trubisky and Josh Scobee!)
The reason for this is simple: you can be critical without being an asshole. Football is a large community that extends beyond Pittsburgh and the Steelers. I know most people want to believe Team A hates Team B, but truth be told, it doesn't (usually) work that way in the modern era with the draft, free agency, trades, etc. Players cross paths with other players via college and pro teams, then many coaches network the same way in an almost nomadic profession where they may uproot every few years. (And players also become coaches too!)
That doesn't leave much room to burn bridges and be a jerk. We owe everything we're able to do to these men on the football field (and also front office) or else we'd have zero platform let alone something to (hopefully) enjoy on Sundays.
That said, I didn't get this in during a longer episode but the "change" in Pittsburgh from Colbert to Khan is something I really want to address on a future episode. Colbert had some amazing draft picks so the very few "misses" he had get magnified because of that long tenure of high expectations. He also had to work under a major QB contract, something Khan is free of currently. So I feel some of that criticism is unfair for Colbert, especially when he was willing to deal a first round pick for Minkah Fitzpatrick. (And there's more, I just don't want to type a novel here.) - Joe
