Its weird how all late 80s-early 90s home videos look the same. My dad has one of me at Strasburg from 1991 when I was about 4 and its almost identical to this. Lol thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Wow, the hairdo's we had & the clothes we wore. My God, what were we thinking...LOL. I spent 3 days at Strasburg RR in 2016. I plan to return when the roundhouse is finished at the railroad museum across the street from Strasburg RR. So may steam locomotives to see. You begin asking yourself "what would it take to get several of them operational today." It's a great place for any railfan. The Pa Railroad museum on one side of the street & Strasburg RR on the other side. Plan to spend a few days, so much to see.
Love the old clips! They have got quite a different set of cars and paint back before I was alive... 90 went through 4 paint schemes from I know, maybe more...all I know is this strasburg paint, the modern strasburg paint, a third strasburg paint inbetween those two, and Great Western at some point... But Great videos! really liked it!!
No. NS recently said that they will not accept any more steam locomotives into the program after 611. They will have their hands full with three steam locomotives next year. I wish it were 1987 all over again and 1218 was coming back, but at least it will be like 1982 all over again when 611 steams again. 7002 and 1223 would be poor candidates for NS because although 7002 had cab signals installed for the off line runs in 1985 and 1986, they are both friction bearing and boilers too thin for safe operation like 1361. PRR ran their steam locomotives to death which is why none run today. Perhaps 765 will return to PA next year.
Nice to find some Decent 7002 footage that isn't Recycled time after time
Anybody know why they were working on 6755?

How come Strasberg never uses those yellow cars with the HUGE windows anymore? As well as the the old wood sided open air gondola for passengers?
They still use the yellow coaches, but they're not yellow anymore and have been rebuilt
