This looks like a great product.
I ran sound for a wedding in a park where they forgot to unlock the power on the gazebo. Luckily I had a couple of 100 ft cords to run power to a neighbor’s house.
I’ve also had to use a generator 150’ away for a wedding in a big park with no power available. Fortunately it was an afternoon event, and i knew ahead of time.
I always carry trash bags for outdoor events.

Great to know of this gear as a viable option, Scott. I ran sound for a wedding this past weekend with a similar situation. Band was located in the ballroom, and ceremony was elsewhere on the property needing us to set up a stand-alone system separate from the ballroom. Long story short, watching your past videos motivated me to purchase a number of good, reasonably priced 5.8 gighz guitar wireless pods that we set up to get 2 channels on the ceremony sound system connected. Worked out great! Thanks for the continuing to keep us educated.

    • @ScottUhlMusic

Nice! Glad to know it’s working! I would just make sure those are reliable wireless. I’m not sure which ones you used, but the 5.8ghz stuff are usually cheaper, so that’s why I mentioned it. Line of sight helps a lot! Cheers, glad you found it helpful 🤘

I've used my Bose S1 L-Ion powered speakers for a few years now. They work great for monitor wedges, playing backing tracks over Bluetooth and even as a busking setup with multiple inputs for guitar, microphone and aux in. I have a couple small duffles I can throw over in case of rain - but the EV takes care of this nicely and the app management for the speakers is ahead of what my Bose does. I'm a HUGE fane of wireless for guitars, IEM... ANYthing that allows me to get rid of cables... and that?... combined with battery powered devices?... is the easiest way to go Larger venues of course - will always require some sort of cables for power, et - but less is more for me! LOL! This is my live busing rig, using a single Bose S1 and a Roland 6xAA amp for Yamaha Silent Guitar (1x9v)... although?... not 'cheaping out' is always a great point to make for your audience - and ME! Thanks Scott!

Replay!!! Great video Scott!! Very thorough as always! Great minds think alike when it comes to micing officiants. I love using headsets over lavs because of when they get out of the pickup pattern and harder to control unless you have a digital board with perimetric capabilities. There are very few people I know that bought the weather resistant bag and I would leave it on all the time. I would do a custom bag with a zippered pocket for cables and able to keep the shelf mounted.

excellent video. I watch most of your video reviews and they are excellent. Great job. I'm a DJ as well and have the everse 8. You are 100% correct when you mentioned that it is a perfect set up for wedding ceremonies and cocktail hour. I just picked up the the Shure SLXD15 which was extremely helpful as I recently had to do a beach wedding ceremony. I've not used the EV RE3 mic receiver, but prior to the SLXD15, I've would use a pair of Shure ULXD4 mic receivers in a small rack with a ULXD1 body pack and/or or a Shure beta 58 for readings during a ceremony. Do you find the mic quality with the EV RE3 is comparable to the Shure ULXD or even SLXD ?

You could use a 12 volt lithiumm battery through a pure sine wave inverter to run most PA gear if its not too electric power hungry. Especially as battery pa gear tends to be more expensive and often awkward to swap bstteries over and you maybe able to use the gear you already have.

Another excellent and informative video! A quick question, if I may, about the EV Evolve 50s you mentioned that you use with your band. How do you find those column array speakers with a live band compared to the usual point source speakers? I have been looking at a pair dB Technologies ES802 column arrays myself. The general consensus is that column arrays aren't as good for live bands and it is quite difficult to test and compare them. And most CZcams videos are about how they work for DJs. Thanks for reading my essay 🙂

Thanks! And my singer in my 90s band doesn’t like them, so he brings his 2 18” subs and tops. Which does sound bigger (especially that low end obviously). But man, having a “thin sounding kick drum” is worth it to me for the simplicity of the setup. I’m always interested in things that get the job done and also make my life easier.
