Section 1 of the Pinhoti Trail, February 2019

The Pinhoti trail is a 335 mile hiking trail that goes through Alabama and Georgia. It follows the spine of the southernmost Appalachian mountains, and is mostly woods trail. I grew up just a few miles from the trail and this trail is where my love for hiking, and the outdoors, grew up. It is an awesome trail from start to finish. Marianne and I are planning to do all the Alabama sections.

I'm going to be visiting family in Southern MS and AL next year in January/February. Would I be correct in assuming that you did, in fact, hike this section in February, and it wasn't too chilly? Enjoying the video!

We came across one on the Terrapin Hill stretch! Its at about 8:39. I've always thought that the moonshining relics were pretty cool to find out there. It's a major part of our history here.
