My first Mac was an Apple IIc in 1984! I was 9 at the time, and I was the one that set it all up! Mom Mom and Dad were floored. Cute fact: My Mom and Dad always worked so hard to give us the things they thought we needed or wanted, but couldn't always do so, because they weren't independently wealthy. But, at a parent-teacher conference, my teach told my folks that I had an affinity for computers and recommended that, if it were doable, they get me an Apple computer. They got the computer, monitor, printer...I know there was more, but they got the whole setup. And I was in love. And the initial startup video of Snow Leopard was really such a reminder of the old days of Apple when there seemed to be more quirky fun-ness to them.
