  • A video I've been meaning to make for a while, as I've been meaning to change my coolant for a while! Now it is done :)
I am not an expert and not every bike is the same but overall changing coolant is effectively the same, drain the coolant, the reservoir, refill.
I didn't flush the cooling system in this video as the old coolant looked pretty clean, you on an older bike I would recommend that.
If you enjoyed the video please hit the like button, it pleases the gods of CZcams and then let my videos do well :D Also if you're new here please consider hitting that subscribe button for more bike related content :)
    Thanks for watching!

For draining the coolant fully, you take the battery out and tucked in at the back is the tube that you separate in the middle and force it down past the swinging arm. Some people say to attach some string to it in order to pull back up due to lack of space but I got it back up no bother. That way you get rid of 100%.

Think I could follow that without too many disasters. 👍👍 Actually a great tip to make sure you put as much or more back in as you took out.

I didn't need to change my coolant on my CBF but I did need to check the level and top it up. Your video was very helpful to do this, so much appreciated.

Lol I'm loving the emphasis on the "cold" part when it comes to draining the coolant. I'm sure we have all seen a certain youtuber do it while it's hot:) lessons are learnt! Haha

Good video. I have to hold my hand up here 🤚as I know my wife's VT500, my FZ750, and the FZR1000 were liquid cooled, but I only remember changing the coolant on the FZR, and that was after a crash when I had to replace the radiator . . . Since that time everything has returned to finning . . . . Keep up the good work!

Good one my Magna Is the second bike I have had with coolant and to my surprise it actually runs through a section of the frame which to me seems a bit unorthodox for some reason maybe it's not .I never did it to my shame on my other bike I had, but with this one I have no choice as she is in pieces : D .

3 min 27 sec. Yeah, I was one of those people that broke off that bit. The plate broke too, a new one was €100,- and I still had to glue the bolt 'eye' back. No wire but a new plate and the old bolt.

Large sheers to cut a cable tie...LOVE IT, you mean business sir!! Have you melted skin before? Not to bad of a job, a shame it's under the tank but not to bad. Is 15 years to long? I need to flush the gixxer...in fairness it hasn't been used much...🤦‍♂️😂

Good things to know if I ever get a bike that has coolant. Mine is small enough displacement to only be oil cooled. I say "if" because I imagine any electric bikes of the future likely won't need coolant…but maybe to increase performance and range they will 🤔

Does that process drain/fill the water jacket too? Thanks for sharing, I've never seen a Honda with the cap there. The Blackbird has a pressure cap on the radiator and the thermostat on the back of the engine with no cap.
